That means you can now enjoy all three <strong>Kanki Restaurant<\/strong> locations. <strong>Deli Edison<\/strong>, the neighborhood eatery and gourmet food shop in north Chapel Hill, is now open for take-out and online ordering. If you&#8217;re looking for a pretty comprehensive list of what is open in Orange County, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/chapelboro.com\/coronavirus-hp\/phase-2-whats-open-restaurant-options-in-orange-county\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Chapelboro has you covered here<\/strong><\/a>. They will serve up craft beer, barrel aged beer solera, Mexican pizza, Italian tacos, wine and spirits. It is being brought to us by the\u00a0people behind <strong>Bull City Burger and Brewery <\/strong>and<strong> Pompieri Pizza <\/strong>in Durham. Stay tuned for an exact open date.  <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bullcitysoleraandtaproom.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Visit them here<\/strong><\/a>. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Also in Durham at the <strong>Renaissance Center<\/strong> across from <strong>Streets at Southpoint<\/strong> and just a few doors down from <strong>Los Tres Mexican Restaurant<\/strong> (think <strong>Moe&#8217;s<\/strong>, <strong>McAllister&#8217;s<\/strong> and <strong>Ted&#8217;s Montana Grill<\/strong>) there is a sign up for a new <strong>Potbelly Sandwich Shop<\/strong> opening &#8220;soon-ish.&#8221; We will keep an eye on it. If you are not familiar with <strong>Potbelly<\/strong> in Durham, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.potbelly.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>get to know them here<\/strong><\/a>. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Over in Carrboro, just a heads up that <strong>Oakleaf<\/strong> is &#8220;going on vacation&#8221; from July 5th to August 5th. They are using that time to develop a new catering arm, <strong>Hard Shell Events<\/strong>, specializing in outdoor functions like crab feasts and oyster roasts as well as custom in home events. Check out Oakleaf here. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Two Duke faculty are conducting a survey on how COVID-19 has impacted Durham restaurants, especially the effect on revenue and keeping staff employed. The finding will be shared with Durham\u2019s mayor, Durham County commissioners and local philanthropic foundations. They hope that business owners and managers will be able to leverage this information when making requests for better support. Today, July 3rd, will be their last day. They noted that they will still honor gift certificates and Diner Dinars at their sister store,\u00a0<strong>Falafel 54<\/strong>. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.falafel54.com\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Visit Falafel 54 here<\/strong><\/a>. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>And in Chapel Hill, <strong>Carrie Brogren<\/strong> of <strong>Chapel Hill Carrboro Foodies<\/strong> group shared that <strong>Soul Cocina<\/strong> is permanently closing their storefront in <strong>Blue Dogwood<\/strong> food hall. The <strong>North Carolina State Fair<\/strong> will be hosting <strong>Drive-Thru Fair Food Days<\/strong> Friday through Sunday (<strong>July 3-5<\/strong>). And word is, they\u2019ve added <strong>TURKEY LEGS<\/strong> to the July 3-5 menu! They will run noon to 6 p.m. each day and sales will be cash only. Drivers should enter the fairgrounds parking area off of Trinity Road. Orders will be placed from your car and servers will come to you. It was founded in 2016 by husband-and-wife team <strong>Anthony<\/strong> and <strong>Janique Edwards<\/strong> in an effort to preserve Black spaces. Now, in light of recent events throughout the country, supporting Black-owned businesses is more important than ever. While there you will be able to try authentic international food, desserts as well as\u00a0 imported beer and wine! There will also be lots of music and entertainment at this child and pet friendly event. Admission is free and parking on the street is as well. The fun begins Friday night\u00a0with a sampler event from 6-10pm featuring limited releases, barrel aged, and sour beers. For the second straight month the <strong>Food Bank<\/strong> distributed a record-breaking amount of food to the community: May distributed 9.14 million pounds of food compared shattering April\u2019s record breaking 7.9 million pounds (typical month is about 7 million pounds).
