It is a concept, which opened on Thursday, that features a big bar and small plates &#8211; like Presbyterian Deviled Eggs, Southern Pan-Fried Pork Chop, Blackened Catfish, and of course, Chicken &amp; Dumplings. <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.plumdurham.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Get to know them here<\/a><\/strong>. Can&#8217;t wait to check it out!<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Wake County Restaurant News<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>In Morrisville, <strong>Sister Liu&#8217;s <\/strong>had their grand opening at their second location this past Wednesday in the former <strong>Buns Barn<\/strong> spot at 3524 Davis Drive. \u00a0For those not familiar with <strong>Sister Liu\u2019s<\/strong>, they serve up handmade dumplings and Chinese hamburgers from their original location in Durham\u2019s <strong>Straw Valley<\/strong> shopping center (near the intersection of Interstate 40 and 15-501). Congrats to <strong>Cuiying Liu Blythe<\/strong> and her husband, <strong>John Blythe<\/strong>! <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/sisterliuskitchen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check them out here<\/a><\/strong>. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Stephen<\/strong> from Apex notified us that <strong>Big Mike&#8217;s BBQ<\/strong> in Apex just expanded into the storefront next door and is renovating it into a sportsbar. The sign on the window indicates it will be <strong>Big Mike&#8217;s Sports Bar<\/strong>. <strong>Stephen<\/strong> notes their smoked potato salad is killer. They are located at 2045 Creekside Landing Dr. and <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.brewnquenc.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">you can visit the BBQ site here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Stephen<\/strong> also tipped us off to the fact that another <strong>First Watch<\/strong> is opening up on Highway 55 in Apex, across from <strong>Beaver Creek<\/strong>. We don&#8217;t have an exact address or a timeline on their opening, but we will ask <strong>Stephen<\/strong> to keep a &#8220;watch&#8221; on it (see what I did there) and let us know. <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.firstwatch.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Visit First Watch here<\/a><\/strong>. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>And in Raleigh, it looks like we are going to have to wait a little longer for the renovations to be complete, and the opening of <strong>Sam Jones BBQ<\/strong> &#8211; blogger <strong>Eat Raleigh<\/strong> shared that their PR people had indicated that there had been construction delays at 502 W. Lenoir St., in the former <strong>Dusty\u2019s Garage<\/strong> near <strong>Boylan Heights<\/strong>. <strong>Sam Jones BBQ<\/strong> has a location in Winterville, NC and their <strong>Skylight Inn BBQ<\/strong> in Ayden, NC. No new opening date (was originally November) has been provided. <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.samjonesbbq.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Go ahead and start getting familiar with them here<\/a><\/strong>. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Looking for all the outdoor dining options in Downtown Raleigh? The <strong>Downtown Raleigh Alliance<\/strong> has put together a great list of those options, and they even divided it up by district. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.downtownraleigh.org\/post\/where-to-drink-and-dine-outdoors-in-downtown-raleigh\"><strong>Check out that list here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Durham, Orange &amp; Chatham Restaurant News<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Looking for a fun, and possibly a little different, Thanksgiving Day option? Look no further than Durham&#8217;s newest restaurant &#8211; <strong>Honeysuckle at Lakewood<\/strong> where they will be offering a &#8220;Creole&#8221; option as well as a traditional option for your Thanksgiving day feast. And the <strong>Downtown Chapel Hill Partnership<\/strong> has put together <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/downtownchapelhill.com\/whats-open\/?active-tab=bars-restaurants\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a similar list for Chapel Hill here<\/a><\/strong>. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Closings \/ Cancellations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Mike DePersia<\/strong> with <strong>DePersia &amp; Associates<\/strong> notified us that after an 18-year run, family-owned <strong>Cheerz Deli<\/strong> in RTP has closed their doors. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Food Trucks&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Triangle on the Cheap<\/strong> shared the news that <strong>Food Truck Flix<\/strong> is a recurring event that combines drive-in movies with food trucks, for a safer entertainment experience just announced their schedule for the upcoming weekends (Friday and Saturday nights).\u00a0The events will be taking place at <strong>Frontier RTP<\/strong>, 800 Park Offices, Durham, and at Focus Church, 7000 Destiny Drive, Raleigh. You can purchase tickets in advance for any of the drive-in movies. The price is $25 per car. Of course, you\u2019ll also want to bring money for the food trucks. To celebrate the restaurant\u2019s eighth annual Thanksgiving charity initiative, <strong>Plates Neighborhood Kitchen <\/strong>is partnering with<strong> Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina <\/strong>on<strong> \u201cPlates for the Community.\u201d<\/strong> This year, Plates wants to make sure they can still provide the same level of satisfaction while keeping everyone safe during this unprecedented time.&nbsp;<strong>Through Monday, November 23<\/strong>, chef <strong>David Mitchell<\/strong> is offering Thanksgiving meal packages designed to feed six to eight people in the comfort of their own homes.&nbsp;Owners of <strong>Plates<\/strong>, <strong>Steve Day<\/strong> and <strong>Justin Gallus<\/strong>, have pledged to provide a <strong>$20 donation<\/strong> to the <strong>Food Bank<\/strong> for each package sold.
