All of the restaurants and caterers that we work with are locally owned and operated. We are very proud of this (and should have done it sooner). At any rate, to celebrate we did a promotion with our current clients yesterday and we extend it to everyone today. <strong>Anyone that places an order today for delivery next week will receive a $20 gift card<\/strong> to any local store of their choice! <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a =\"http:\/\/www.trianglefoodguy.com\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Order away!<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Wake County Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0The <strong>News &amp; Observer<\/strong> reported this week that <strong>Arken Elhicheri<\/strong>, a veteran restaurateur in the Triangle, has opened <strong>Garibaldi Trattoria<\/strong> in the former <strong>Daniel&#8217;s on Main<\/strong> building in Fuquay-Varina. The menu is 95% Italian (there are a few French dishes) and they are open for lunch and dinner daily. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a =\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Garibalditrattoria\/info\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">You can check out their Facebook page here<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Thanks to a tip from <strong>John Huisman<\/strong>, aka <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a =\"http:\/\/triangleexplorer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Triangle Explorer<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/strong>, we learned that <strong>Butcher Block American Grill<\/strong> next to <strong>Bella Italia<\/strong> on Durant Rd. in N. Raleigh is now open. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a =\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Butcher-Block-American-Grill\/1424511141124766?ref=ts&amp;fref=ts\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Check them out here<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Got wind of a new restaurant coming into downtown Raleigh&#8217;s <strong>Seaboard Station<\/strong> on the local <strong>Yelp<\/strong> message board. <strong>The Night Kitchen Bakery and Caf\u00e9<\/strong> will be located next to Marigold Parlour. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a =\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/RaleighNightKitchen\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Check them out on Facebook here<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Triangle Business Journal<\/strong> broke the news this week that the old <strong>Lucky 32<\/strong> restaurant building on Spring Forest Road in north Raleigh has been sold to a new restaurant group called <strong>Kamado Grille<\/strong>. It will specialize in foods prepared on ceramic, kamado-style grills. Other than that, there isn&#8217;t much else to report at this point. Suffice it to say, we are curious and will keep an eye on this one.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>WRAL<\/strong> reported last week that Wake Forest has a new restaurant. <strong>One Whirled Caf\u00e9<\/strong>, an upscale eatery featuring global cuisine, has opened in the former home of <strong>Blue Fins Bistro<\/strong> off of Rogers Road. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a =\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/onewhirledcafe\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Check them out here<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>If you love cheese, have we got great news for you. <strong>John Huisman<\/strong> (aka <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a =\"http:\/\/triangleexplorer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Triangle Explorer<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/strong>) tipped us off to the fact that<strong> Six Forks Cheese Shop<\/strong>, in North Raleigh&#8217;s <strong>Lafayette Village<\/strong>, will open today (<strong>July 18<\/strong>)! Be sure to stop by and check them out. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a =\"http:\/\/www.sixforkscheese.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Get all the details here<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Triangle Business Journal<\/strong> reported this week that both <strong>Ledo Pizza<\/strong> and <strong>Firehouse Subs<\/strong> have committed to opening new restaurants in the <strong>54 Plaza<\/strong> buildings now underway at the intersection of Miami Boulevard and N.C. 54 near Morrisville. The project&#8217;s first building is slated to open early next year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>AJ Viola<\/strong> and <strong>Mike Sholar<\/strong>, the guys behind <strong>BREW<\/strong>, a new coffee and beer bar coming to downtown Raleigh&#8217;s <strong>Seaboard Station<\/strong>, are very close to successfully fulfilling their Kickstarter campaign, but need a little more support to push them over the top. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a =\"https:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/projects\/1580173130\/brew\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Check out their Kickstarter campaign here<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>A quick update from my friend <strong>Dana McCall<\/strong> over at <strong>GoGoRaleigh<\/strong>. <strong>Taverna Agora<\/strong> is now looking at mid December date for their move to Hillsborough St. (next to <strong>Second Empire<\/strong>). Thanks<strong> Dana<\/strong> for the update.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Durham, Orange &amp; Chatham County Restaurant News\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The big news out of Durham this week was the &#8220;major announcement&#8221; that <strong>Monuts<\/strong> will open a second location after they signed a 10-year-lease on the former <strong>Magnolia Grill<\/strong> location on Ninth Street. Look for a November opening in the space that will more than double their original space. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a =\"http:\/\/www.monutsdonuts.com\/aboutus.html\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Keep up with them here<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The other big news out of Durham is that the <strong>Herald Sun<\/strong> is reporting that <strong>Pizzeria Toro<\/strong>, which has been closed since November 2013 due to a fire, plans to reopen the downtown shop by <strong>Saturday<\/strong>. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a =\"http:\/\/www.pizzeriatoro.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Get all the details here<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Got word from the <strong>Triangle Localista<\/strong> that the folks behind the food truck <strong>Olio &amp; Aceto<\/strong> (and <strong>Blue Sky Oil &amp; Vinegar<\/strong>) are opening their brick and mortar location <strong>this Saturday<\/strong> in Chapel Hill at 400 S. Elliot Rd (former location of <strong>Tracy&#8217;s New York Deli<\/strong>). Their celebration is from noon until 5 p.m.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Meadowmont<\/strong> location of <strong>Market Street Caf\u00e9<\/strong> is currently undergoing renovations. Got word this week that the contractor anticipates they will be able to re-open in about 3 weeks. No word on whether it will open elsewhere.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Food Trucks\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Pittsboro Roadhouse<\/strong> will host the next <strong>Pittsboro Food Truck Rodeo<\/strong> on <strong>Saturday, July 26th<\/strong> from 6 &#8211; 9 p.m. The event will feature 7 food trucks, 2 beer trucks and of course, <strong>Pittsboro Roadhouse<\/strong> and their delicious offerings. It will be held <strong>October <\/strong><strong>9 &#8211; 11<\/strong> and tickets go on sale <strong>this Sunday, July 20<\/strong>! Lots of great folks involved this year. Ten counties are featured in the <strong>North Carolina Department of Agriculture&#8217;s<\/strong> 10-day <strong>&#8220;Dig into Local Restaurant Week,&#8221;<\/strong> and most of the venues are in the Triangle. Instead of fixed-price menus, the promotion involves &#8220;fixed-source&#8221; menus. From <strong>July 14-23<\/strong>, selected local restaurants will feature North Carolina-grown or processed products in at least four dishes, along with a North Carolina wine selection. The menus will identify the local ingredients and their sources.
