Located at the corner of Hargett and Wilmington streets, <strong>Linda O\u2019Reilly<\/strong> sold<strong> Landmark<\/strong> late last year to <strong>Empire Eats<\/strong> (think <strong>Sitti<\/strong>, <strong>Gravy<\/strong>, <strong>Raleigh Times<\/strong>, <strong>Pizza Times<\/strong>, <strong>Morning Times<\/strong>, <strong>The Pit<\/strong> &#8212; Raleigh and Durham, <strong>Square Burger<\/strong>, <strong>Empire Eats Catering<\/strong> and<strong> Mecca<\/strong>). Other than a refresh, expect few other changes. <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.landmarktavernraleigh.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Reacquaint yourself here<\/span><\/a><\/strong>. Additional Note: <strong>Linda O\u2019Reilly<\/strong> will continue to own and operate <strong>Circa 1888<\/strong>, a bar she and <strong>Brendan<\/strong> opened on West Davie Street in Raleigh\u2019s warehouse district in 2015.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Wake County Restaurant News<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Raleigh Magazine<\/strong> shared the news that the former<strong> Solas<\/strong> nightclub spot on Glenwood South (which closed about 18 months due to the pandemic) will reopen with a completely new focus, update and feel. <strong>Highgarden<\/strong> is another creation from <strong>Niall Hanley&#8217;s Hibernian Hospitality Group<\/strong> and will utilize all three floors of the building. On the first floor you will find <strong>Botanical Lounge<\/strong>, featuring tapas-style eats in a cozy indoor\/outdoor space. The second level will feature <strong>The Sage Room<\/strong>, a private events and wedding venue. And the third\/top floor will offer a stunning outdoor space overlooking downtown Raleigh called <strong>Highgarden Rooftop Lounge<\/strong>. Look for a late September opening. In the meantime, <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/highgardenraleigh.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">visit them here<\/span><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Over in Cary, reader <strong>Bill Velto<\/strong> shared that <strong>Taco Addicts<\/strong> is in soft opening mode in the former <strong>Ruby Tuesday<\/strong> space in <strong>Crossroads Plaza<\/strong>. The restaurant offers a combination of street food and traditional Hispanic dishes. West Franklin Street in Chapel Hill is getting a new watering hole at 601 W. Franklin Street (next to <strong>Papa John&#8217;s<\/strong>). <strong>Franklin Motors<\/strong> is looking to open around <strong>September 15th<\/strong> and will serve local beers, wines, and craft cocktails. And also cool, the courtyard\/beer garden will have a &#8220;permanent&#8221; food truck called <strong>Roquette<\/strong>, operated by chef <strong>John Smith<\/strong>, originally from Austin, Texas. The menu features sliders, ceviche, bratwurst, mac &amp; cheese and hand pies&#8230;to name a few. Look for most menu items to be locally sourced. Thanks to the <strong>Chapel Hill Carrboro Foodies group<\/strong> for bringing this to my attention. <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.roquettechapelhill.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Check them out here<\/span><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>We have another reopening to share &#8211; this one in Durham\/RTP. <strong>Societa Sicilian Influenced Cucina<\/strong> has reopened their doors at 5311 South Miami Blvd. They have a ton of outdoor dining space in their vibrant patio (165 seats) as well as their spacious\u00a0socially distanced indoor dining room.\u00a0<strong>Societa<\/strong>\u00a0has evolved from the <strong>Cataldo<\/strong> family owned <strong>Tony\u2019s Pizza<\/strong> in Endicott, NY (Est. 1976 next to IBM) serving a menu of Sicilian street food and retro Italian-American classics. Congrats to owners <strong>Giuseppe Cataldo<\/strong> and <strong>Kelly Potts<\/strong>. <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/societainfo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Check them out toda<\/span>y<\/a><\/strong>. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Also in Durham, <strong>RalToday<\/strong> shared the news that <strong>Zweli\u2019s Cafe <\/strong>has opened a new location on Duke University\u2019s West Campus<strong> <\/strong>serving authentic Zimbabwean cuisine. The cafe is offering Grab-N-Go as well as hot meals Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m to 3 p.m. \u2014 with vegan and vegetarian options. Find <strong>Zweli\u2019s<\/strong> located at 407 Chapel Dr. in Durham.
