It is the <strong>FoodBank&#8217;s 24 Hour Telethon<\/strong> beginning at noon on <strong>Friday, September 26<\/strong> with a goal of raising $60,000 (or 300,000 meals) for hunger relief as part of <strong>Hunger Action Month<\/strong>. There are lots of ways to participate (in addition to your donation), so <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.foodbankcenc.org\/site\/PageServer?pagename=Telethon\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">check it out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Wake County Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0<strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NewRaleigh\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">New Raleigh<\/a><\/span><\/strong> reported this week that<strong> City Market Cafe<\/strong> will open in the old <strong>Benelux<\/strong> space in downtown Raleigh&#8217;s <strong>City Market<\/strong>. Not much on their Facebook page yet, but keep up with <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/CityMarketCafe\/timeline\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">them here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And speaking of <strong>Benelux<\/strong>, they are slated to open next week in the <strong>Crescent Cameron Village<\/strong> building according to the <strong>News &amp; Observer<\/strong>. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/beneluxcoffee.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">Visit their website here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And speaking of the <strong>Crescent Cameron Village<\/strong> building, <strong>Brixx Pizza<\/strong> will open their newest Triangle area location there tomorrow, Saturday, September 13th. <strong>Brixx<\/strong> has locations in Brier Creek and Chapel Hill. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/brixxpizza.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">Visit them here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And one last bit of <strong>Crescent Cameron Village<\/strong> news, the <strong>Triangle Business Journal<\/strong> also reported that <strong>Faire<\/strong>, a new steak and seafood restaurant concept by the Raleigh-based restaurant group <strong>Eschelon Experiences<\/strong>, is scheduled to open by the end of the month. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.eschelonexperiences.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">Visit Eschelon here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>News &amp; Oberver&#8217;s Greg Cox<\/strong> reported this week that Virginia transplant <strong>Sonya Garris<\/strong> has opened <strong>Seven Cities Seafood and Southern Cuisine<\/strong> in North Raleigh at 3611 Spring Forest Road, and is billing the menu at her counter service eatery and takeout shop as &#8220;a taste of Tidewater.&#8221; <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/sevencities919\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">Check them out on Facebook here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Got word this week that<strong> Full Moon Oyster Bar<\/strong> will be opening their third store the first week in October in <strong>Park West<\/strong> in Morrisville. They currently have locations in Clemmons and Southern Pines. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.fullmoonoysterbar.com\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">Get a sneak peek at them here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Triangle Business Journal<\/strong> reported this week that <strong>Aiko Bar + Lounge<\/strong> is coming to Glenwood South in the <strong>Creamery Building<\/strong> at 410 Glenwood Avenue. It will feature cocktails and Japanese cuisine. An opening date has not been announced. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/aikoraleigh.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">Get an early look at them here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>OK, I lied. One last bit of news from <strong>Cameron Village<\/strong>. Saw in the <strong>News &amp; Observer<\/strong> this week that <strong>Cameron Village&#8217;s Village Draft House<\/strong> is undergoing renovations that include a new interior, storefront and signage. The new space, which will be smaller, will also get a new menu. The space the <strong>Draft House<\/strong> is vacating will become a different restaurant that has not yet been announced. They remain open during the renovation. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.villagedrafthouse.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">See what is going on here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Durham, Orange &amp; Chatham County Restaurant News\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Got word this week from <strong>The Daily Tar Heel<\/strong> that <strong>Time-Out<\/strong> reopened Sept. 5 in its new location at 201 E. Franklin St., on the corner of Henderson Street and Franklin Street. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.timeoutchapelhill.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">Check them out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Got word from a dear friend (who doesn&#8217;t want me to publish her name) that <strong>Aunt Serafina&#8217;s Pizza<\/strong> has opened in <strong>Hope Valley Commons<\/strong> shopping center in Durham. <strong>Peter Turner<\/strong> (a <strong>Dunkin Donuts<\/strong> franchisee) and <strong>Alan Tyndall<\/strong> (a former <strong>Domino&#8217;s Pizza<\/strong> franchisee) opened the independently owned pizzeria.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And over in Durham, <strong>G2B Gastropub<\/strong> announced this week that they will be opening <strong>G2B Brewery<\/strong> in late September or early October. The nano brewery is a small batch, one-barrel set-up and is located in the restaurant. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.g2b-restaurant.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">Get more details here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Also in Durham, the <strong>News &amp; Observer<\/strong> is reporting that he owner of the now-closed <strong>Intrepid Life Coffee &amp; Spirits<\/strong> says he is looking to hire four new employees and open in a new location in about a month. Apparently <strong>Victoriano<\/strong> is now looking at two spaces, including one at <strong>Golden Belt<\/strong> currently occupied by a pop-up shop for <strong>Carrboro Coffee Roasters<\/strong>. We will keep an eye on this one.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Closings<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>So, <strong>604 West Village<\/strong> located in downtown Durham closed their doors last Thursday. That is the bad news. The good news is it could be yours! Yep, it is for sale. If you are at all interested, please let me know and I&#8217;ll get you in touch with the right person.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Food Trucks<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Got word from <strong>Natalie Goodman<\/strong> that the <strong>Draft Line<\/strong> in Fuqua-Varina is hosting an event on <strong>September 14th<\/strong> from 3-8 p.m. to raise funds for the <strong>Leukemia &amp; Lymphoma Society<\/strong>. Lots of activities going on all afternoon and plenty for the kids as well.
