Downtown Raleigh&#8217;s <strong>Mecca Restaurant<\/strong>, founded in 1930, is welcoming prospective employees today (<strong>Friday, May 20<\/strong>) from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the restaurant at 13 E. Located in the <strong>Shoppes at Brookside<\/strong> retail plaza at 1000 Brookside Drive, <strong>Lee Robinson<\/strong> is joined by his wife <strong>Michelle Robinson<\/strong> along with <strong>Darrell Brown<\/strong> and <strong>Jacob Paramo<\/strong> to transition the space into a \u201cneighborhood hangout spot\u201d with handheld food items, wine and retail offerings. The spot is currently open and continuing to operate as <strong>Falafel &amp; Co.<\/strong> (though under the new ownership) and will transition to the new concept by <strong>June 10<\/strong>.
