And one of the highlights each year is not just the rows and rows of food stands, but what will be deep fried this year! Well, the <strong>News &amp; Observer&#8217;s Andrea Weigl<\/strong> has <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.newsobserver.com\/2014\/10\/08\/4216918\/the-new-deep-fried-foods-at-this.html?sp=\/99\/106\/139\/1550\/\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">all the details here for you<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, including deep fried barbecue, bananas Foster and mini cupcakes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Wake County Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Last week we told you about <strong>Eschelon Experiences<\/strong> opening their newest restaurant,\u00a0<strong>Faire<\/strong>, in Raleigh&#8217;s <strong>Cameron Village<\/strong>. This week I got an update from <strong>G. Patel<\/strong> himself on the opening of their next venture, this time over in Durham as part of the <strong>American Tobacco Campus<\/strong>. <strong>Basan<\/strong>, a sushi bar and restaurant, will open next month in the <strong>Diamond View III<\/strong> building overlooking the Durham Bulls stadium. Not much going on with the website yet, but you can <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/basanrestaurant.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">check it out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And if that is not enough goodness out of <strong>Eschelon Experiences<\/strong>, <strong>G.<\/strong> also shared that they have inked the deal on the restaurant space in downtown&#8217;s newest high-rise building, <strong>Charter Square<\/strong>, which is at 555 Fayetteville Street. No information yet on what the concept will be or the timeline on opening, but be assured it will be another top-notch establishment. We will keep you posted. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.eschelonexperiences.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Keep up with Eschelon here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Who&#8217;s ready for restaurant musical chairs? So, last week we told you that <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/crosstownpub.wix.com\/crosstowndowntown\" target=\"_blank\">Crosstown Pub &amp; Grill<\/a><\/span><\/strong> is coming to downtown Cary. That is still the case and they are looking at an early December opening in the space of <strong>Greg Hamm&#8217;s Caf\u00e9 121<\/strong>, which closed yesterday. <strong>Hamm<\/strong> closed <strong>Caf\u00e9 121<\/strong> (the Sandord location is still open) to focus on opening <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pgwerths\" target=\"_blank\">P.G. Werth&#8217;s<\/a><\/strong><\/span> in downtown Raleigh. And with the opening of <strong>Crosstown<\/strong> by <strong>Sheila Ryan<\/strong>, she will close <strong>Mahoney&#8217;s<\/strong> (also in Cary) on November 2nd. Look for <strong>Crosstown<\/strong> to open in early December as well. Got it?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>I forgot to mention it last week, but up in North Raleigh in the Bedford community, our friends at <strong>DeMarco&#8217;s<\/strong> are no longer there. The restaurant sold and will become <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Bedford-Bistro-Bar\/344982572343852\" target=\"_blank\">Bedford Bistro and Bar<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, under new ownership. For those missing <strong>Clay<\/strong> and <strong>Anthony<\/strong>, just head on down to their new establishment, <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.demospizzeriadeli.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">DeMo&#8217;s<\/a><\/span><\/strong> in downtown Raleigh on Glenwood South. Looks like <strong>Bedford<\/strong> will open next Tuesday or Wednesday.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Got word this week from <strong>David Prestrud<\/strong> over at <strong>Plan A. Architecture, PA<\/strong> that a new fast food vegetarian restaurant called <strong>Freshii<\/strong> is coming into the former <strong>Dunkin Donuts<\/strong> space on Hillsborough Street in Raleigh. No word yet on an open date, but you can <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.freshii.com\/us\" target=\"_blank\">check them out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>. This will be the third North Carolina location for the franchise.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>According to their latest post on their Facebook page, it looks like the middle of next week is the opening of the first <strong>b.good<\/strong> location in North Carolina. It will be in <strong>North Hills<\/strong> (the Midtown Park side). They tout themselves as fast-food made by people, not factories. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/bgoodraleighnc\" target=\"_blank\">Check out their local Facebook page here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Also in <strong>North Hills<\/strong>, got word this week that <strong>Kings Bowl of North Hills<\/strong> will hold its grand opening this coming <strong>Monday (October 20)<\/strong> beginning at 5 p.m. The first 250 guests get a free year of bowling! <strong>Kings<\/strong> is the new dining and entertainment spot that just happens to have an 18-lane bowling alley (and a ton of other fun stuff) in it. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/kingsbowlamerica.com\/raleigh\/\" target=\"_blank\">Get all the details here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And for the folks down in Holly Springs, I got word this week from <strong>David McCreary<\/strong> (aka <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lunchboysays.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Lunch Boy Says<\/a><\/span><\/strong>) that a local establishment called <strong>The Mason Jar<\/strong> is coming soon. No word yet on an open date, but you can <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.themasonjartavern.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">check them out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Durham, Orange &amp; Chatham County Restaurant News\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Our friends over at <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.crankydiners.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">CrankyDiners<\/a><\/span><\/strong> tipped us off to <strong>Small Cakes<\/strong>, a new cupcakery (is that a word?), that is coming into the <strong>Woodcroft Shopping Center<\/strong> in South Durham. We don&#8217;t have an open date, but you can <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.smallcakescupcakery.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">check them out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>You will get a rise out of this. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/triangleexplorer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">John Huisman<\/a><\/span><\/strong> updated me this week that the good folks over at <strong>Rise<\/strong> in South Durham are in the process of franchising their store and will open a location in both Cary and Raleigh soon! We will keep an eye on this exciting news. Look for them to open in the first quarter of 2015. The truck will be at <strong>Poole&#8217;s Diner<\/strong>, 426 S.
