Organic Festival<\/strong> will initially serve lunch and dinner, but plans on adding breakfast soon. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.organic-fest.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">Check them out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Got word this week from reader <strong>Michelle Fleer<\/strong> that <strong>Sultan&#8217;s Deli<\/strong>, a Greek and Mediterranean deli, has opened at <strong>Beaver Creek Crossing<\/strong> in Apex (two doors down from the movie theater).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The<strong> Triangle Business Journal<\/strong> reported this week that <strong>Blaze Fast Fire&#8217;d Pizza<\/strong> is holding its grand opening today (December 19th) in <strong>Park West Village<\/strong> in Morrisville. This marks the franchises first North Carolina location. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.blazepizza.com\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">Get all the details here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And down in Garner, the <strong>Triangle Business Journal<\/strong> is reporting a handful of new restaurant offerings when the <strong>White Oak Crossing shopping center<\/strong> is completed. <strong>Carolina Ale House, Longhorn Steakhouse, City Barbecue<\/strong> and <strong>Five Guys<\/strong> will occupy a good chunk of the development which is anchored by Cabela&#8217;s. Look for them to open in the middle of next year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Durham, Orange &amp; Chatham County Restaurant News<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Got word this week from my friends over at <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tastecarolina.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">Taste Carolina<\/a><\/span><\/strong> that <strong>Scott Howell&#8217;s<\/strong> newest venture, a French eatery and bar called <strong>Bar Virgile<\/strong>, is now open and features former <strong>G2B<\/strong> chef <strong>Carrie Schleiffer<\/strong> at the helm! It is located in a rear annex to the former Citizens National Bank building at 102 E. Main Street. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Bar-Virgile\/874651885895477\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">Get all the details on their Facebook page here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Saw in the <strong>News &amp; Observer<\/strong> yesterday that <strong>Charlie Deal<\/strong>, owner of <strong>Dos Perros<\/strong> in Durham and <strong>Jujube<\/strong> in Chapel Hill, has opened <strong>Juju<\/strong> in the old <strong>George&#8217;s Garage<\/strong> space on Ninth Street in Durham. They bill themselves as an Asian tapas establishment. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.jujudurham.com\/\">Get all the details here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Triangle Business Journal<\/strong> is reporting this week that <strong>The French Corner Bakery<\/strong>, a new bake shop featuring artisan breads, cookies, muffins as well as a lunch menu, is now open at 2005 North Pointe Drive, Suite B, in Durham.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Durham keeps getting sweeter and sweeter. Got the word this week that the beloved downtown Durham ice cream shop T<strong>he Parlour<\/strong> will expand into the former Playworks space next door to add an additional 1,000 square feet. The expansion will allow the shop to serve more people, expand the menu, and accommodate events. <strong>The Parlour<\/strong>, which currently seats around 24 guests, will grow to seat almost 60. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/theparlourdurham.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">Get all the details here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And I saw on Twitter that<strong> Town Hall Burger and Bar<\/strong> is expanding their bar. The site says it will open the expanded side on January 1, 2015, but we are hearing it might open as early as next week. Get by and check it out. They are located across from the <strong>Streets at Southpoint<\/strong>, behind <strong>Bonefish Grill<\/strong> and Aldi. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/townhallburgerandbeer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">Check them out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Closings<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Saw in the<strong> News &amp; Observer<\/strong> that the downtown Raleigh institution <strong>Sam &amp; Wally&#8217;s<\/strong> has closed. But hopefully it is only temporary. They are looking for a new location. We&#8217;ll keep an eye on it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Got word from local news source <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/newraleigh\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">New Raleigh<\/a><\/span><\/strong> that <strong>Jade Garden<\/strong> on Hillsborough Street closed suddenly last week. No word on whether or not they will reopen in a new location.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Got word from <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/triangleexplorer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">The Triangle Explorer<\/a><\/span><\/strong> that the Ninth Street location of <strong>Market Street Coffee<\/strong> has closed. The <strong>Triangle Business Journal<\/strong> is reporting that a new juice and coffee bar is expected to open in that space by January 15.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Thanks to the keen eyes of reader<strong> Sarah Armstrong<\/strong>, she noted that <strong>Mantra India Cuisne and Bar<\/strong>, formerly at 116 N. West Street in downtown Raleigh, has closed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Food Trucks<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>They did it! From what I can gather, <strong>Not Just Icing<\/strong> won the contest on the food truck website <strong>Mobile Cuisine<\/strong> that held a national contest to identify America&#8217;s best dessert food truck. Congrats!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Events<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Saw in the <strong>News &amp; Observer<\/strong> that <strong>Mandolin<\/strong> restaurant in Raleigh is hosting a Santa brunch from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. <strong>Dec. 20<\/strong>. Children can listen to Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus read &#8220;&#8216;Twas the Night Before Christmas,&#8221; enjoy gingerbread cookies and share their last-minute lists. Meanwhile, parents can enjoy a brunch with country ham eggs Benedict, figgy pudding and a bloody mary. Reservations are recommended.
