First up is <strong>Alaksha\u2019s Indian Bistro<\/strong>, which is being brought to us by <strong>Alaksha Surti<\/strong> who is the executive\u00a0chef and owner of<strong> Curry in a Hurry<\/strong>, the popular Indian food truck which has been featured on the Food Network and the Cooking Channel. She also has two quick-service restaurants inside the <strong>Morgan Street Food Hall<\/strong> in downtown Raleigh and the <strong>Old North State Food Hall <\/strong>in Selma. The second is <strong>Morelia Gourmet Paletas<\/strong> offering handcrafted gourmet popsicles and gourmet ice cream bars (aka paletas) made in small batches with fresh, high-quality, natural ingredients. They have 10 locations nationwide in North Carolina, Florida and Texas. No word yet on an open date for either. For now, <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/CurryinaHurryNC\" target=\"_blank\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">follow Curry in a Hurry for updates<\/mark><\/a><\/strong> and visit <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.paletasmorelia.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Morelia here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark><mark style=\"background-color:#ffffff\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Wake County Restaurant News<\/mark><\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Village District <\/strong>shared an update last week announcing that the much-anticipated <strong>Shake Shack<\/strong> is expected to open in October. They will be located next to <strong>The Flying Biscuit<\/strong> and just down from <strong>Cape Fear Seafood Company<\/strong> (corner of Woodburn and Clark). If you are not familiar with them, they are a fast food American restaurant chain, specializing in hot dogs, burgers, fries, and milkshakes. They currently have locations in Cary, Chapel Hill and at PNC Arena in Raleigh. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/shakeshack.com\/\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Get to know them here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Over on Hillsborough Street in Raleigh, blogger <strong>EatRaleigh<\/strong> shared that they saw a sign for <strong>CaliBurger<\/strong> up on the old <strong>Arby&#8217;s<\/strong> on Hillsborough at 3415 Hillsborough Street. <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.caliburger.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Visit CaiBurger here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Out in Brier Creek, <strong>Jennifer Buchholz<\/strong> shared a couple of updates. First up, <strong>Estampa Goucha<\/strong> will be opening in the next few months inside the <strong>Westin Hotel<\/strong> near Brier Creek. Also, <strong>Buchholz<\/strong> shared that <strong>Epic Chophouse<\/strong> will move into the former <strong>Brasa<\/strong> location in 2024. It will be where the T-Mobile was, between <strong>Chow<\/strong> and <strong>Duck Donuts<\/strong>, right next to <strong>Creedmoor Cafe<\/strong>. We were unable to find an online presence or opening date. Stay tuned!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Over in Apex, <strong>David McCreary<\/strong> shared with me that <strong>Mi Cancun Taqueria<\/strong> has opened at 809 E. They are moving into the former <strong>Angelina\u2019s Kitchen<\/strong> space on Rectory Street in Pittsboro and are describing their eatery as a\u00a0chef-driven gastropub where they plan to offer breakfast and lunch.
