Impress your co-workers at the water cooler.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Featured Restaurant News<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0In the biggest news of the week, my buddy <strong>John Huisman<\/strong> (aka <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/triangleexplorer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Triangle Explorer<\/a><\/span><\/strong>) threw out a tweet announcing that <strong>Jubala Coffee<\/strong> is planning to open their second Raleigh location in the soon to open <strong>Aloft Hotel<\/strong> on Hillsborough Street directly across from the NC State bell tower. Joining <strong>Jubala<\/strong> in that building will be the previously announced <strong>Gonza Tacos y Tequilla<\/strong>. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.jubalacoffee.com\/#about\" target=\"_blank\">Learn more about Jubala here.<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Wake County Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>\u00a0The <strong>Triangle Business Journal<\/strong> reported this week that chef <strong>Nunzio Scordo<\/strong> at <strong>Driftwood Southern Kitchen<\/strong> in North Raleigh&#8217;s <strong>Lafayette Village<\/strong> is launching a new &#8220;neighborhood Italian&#8221; restaurant called <strong>Farina<\/strong>, in the <strong>Paparazzi Ristorante Italiano<\/strong> space next door.<strong> Scordo<\/strong> is targeting a late June opening. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.driftwoodraleigh.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Learn more about Driftwood here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Over in West Raleigh the long wait for the <strong>Chick-fil-A<\/strong> at the <strong>Lake Boone Trail Shopping Center<\/strong> is getting closer to an end. One of my anonymous roving reporters tipped me off to the fact that a <strong>Chick-fil-A<\/strong> sign went up on the site this week. It is going in in the space where the <strong>Wendy&#8217;s<\/strong> used to be located, next to <strong>Starbucks<\/strong>. Talk about traffic!<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Durham, Orange &amp; Chatham County Restaurant News<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On Chapel Hill&#8217;s Franklin Street, the <strong>News &amp; Observer<\/strong> reported this week that <strong>Ms. Mong<\/strong>, a self-described &#8220;next generation of Mongolian barbecue&#8221; concept, will open in June. It is owned by <strong>Alex Kim<\/strong> and <strong>Isaac Park<\/strong>. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/msmong.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Get a little more information here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Over in Durham, it was announced this week that<strong> Counting House<\/strong>, the new restaurant located in the <strong>21c Museum Hotel Durham<\/strong>, is now offering lunch every Monday &#8211; Friday.\u00a0<strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.countinghousenc.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Get all the details here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Noticed on a recent drive that just south of Chapel Hill in Chatham County on 15-501 in the <strong>Polk Landing<\/strong> shopping center, a new restaurant is on its way called <strong>Vine Asian Bistro<\/strong>. We have no further details at this point but I&#8217;ll keep an eye on it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Also in Chatham County, big changes are coming to <strong>Cole Park Plaza<\/strong>, located about halfway between Chapel Hill and Pittsboro. The <strong>Subway<\/strong> is closing this Sunday in preparation for its move back into the shopping center. Look for it to reopen this fall. In its place, look for a fast-food burger joint to take over the corner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Closings\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>I was sorry to learn this week that the <strong>Atrium Grille<\/strong>, on the ground floor of the Dixon Hughes Goodman building across from Rex Hospital, has closed their doors. My best to <strong>Stephen<\/strong> and <strong>Jeff<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Rebecca Calhoun<\/strong> noted on Twitter that <strong>Fire Pit BBQ<\/strong> in Wake Forest has closed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Also got word from <strong>Joseph Wells<\/strong> that Raleigh&#8217;s <strong>China Court Restaurant<\/strong> in <strong>Brennan Station<\/strong> closed their doors this past Monday.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Food Trucks<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0A couple of upcoming food truck events to highlight. The next <strong>Downtown Raleigh Food Truck Rodeo<\/strong> is coming up on <strong>Sunday, June 14th<\/strong> from 1-6 p.m. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.downtownraleighfoodtruckrodeo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Get all the details here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The next <strong>Durham Central Park Food Truck Rodeo<\/strong> is the extremely popular (aren&#8217;t they all popular?) Enjoy fresh cooked seafood, BBQ and more from local chefs and restaurants from 1-6 in the park and food trucks from 5-9 in the street. The event runs from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/106551609677002\/\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">Get all the details on Facebook here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>As a part of the <strong>Raleigh Food and Wine Festival<\/strong>, Raleigh&#8217;s <strong>Mandolin restaurant<\/strong> will host a <strong>&#8220;Get Your Goat Dinner&#8221;<\/strong> on Thursday, <strong>June 25<\/strong>, with <strong>Prodigal Farm<\/strong>. This &#8220;head to tail&#8221; feast will feature six courses of goat and <strong>Prodigal&#8217;s<\/strong> remarkable cheeses.
