The planned 150-seat restaurant will serve guests from sunrise to moonrise and feature a morning barista-led caf\u00e9, as well as a private event room for business meetings and special events. The restaurant will feature a central bar-in-the-round with ample indoor and outdoor seating, exclusively designed to provide outdoor dining and special event space. No word on a timeline. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lafarmbakery.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Visit La Farm here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>.  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This is mostly Wake County news, so we will place it here. Following up on the news of the closing of all the stand-alone <strong>PDQ<\/strong> locations in the Triangle, <strong>Raleigh Downtown<\/strong> shared on Facebook what will become of those locations. Mostly, they will become <strong>Whataburgers<\/strong>, with one becoming a <strong>CookOut<\/strong>. Here is the rundown: Raleigh (6305 Falls Of Neuse) &#8211; <strong>Whataburger<\/strong>; Cary (9025 Winston Hill) &#8211; <strong>Whataburger<\/strong>; Durham (3301 Watkins Rd) &#8211; <strong>Whataburger<\/strong>; Wake Forest (11690 Northpark Drive) &#8211; <strong>Cookout<\/strong>. These will be the first locations in North Carolina for the Texas-based chain. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/whataburger.com\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Get to know them here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>RALtoday<\/strong> shared the news that <strong>Mac&#8217;s Speed Shop<\/strong> in Raleigh&#8217;s <strong>Five Points<\/strong> (in the former <strong>Lonerider<\/strong> space next to The Rialto) will open on March 25. This will mark their 10th location and the first in the Triangle.&nbsp;<strong>Mac\u2019s<\/strong>&nbsp;was founded 18 years ago by&nbsp;<strong>Wynn Davis<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Hall Johnston<\/strong>&nbsp;as a place that would blend their love for BBQ, beer and bikes. Everything is made from scratch including the barbecue sauces and dressings. But don\u2019t worry, you don\u2019t have to have a Harley, your minivan (and dog) are more than welcome there. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/macspeedshop.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Get familiar with them here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Following up on the news below that <strong>Anthem Brewing<\/strong> will close their <strong>Smoky Hollow<\/strong> location, <strong>RALtoday<\/strong> noted that next-door neighbor <strong>Madre<\/strong> will expand into that space with a new concept bar. <strong>Madre<\/strong> announced this on their Instagram page. Look for them to open in the spring. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/madreraleigh\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Best to follow along on Instagram here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We first reported this in September, 2023, but this week <strong>Village District <\/strong>confirmed that the original&nbsp;<strong>Cafe Carolina<\/strong>&nbsp;space will become&nbsp;<strong>Postino WineCafe<\/strong>, an Arizona-born industrial&nbsp;wine bar and restaurant. They will be offering an ever-changing selection of boutique wines, craft brews and specialty cocktails, paired with a decked-out menu of bruschetta, panini, salads and a lineup of crave-worthy charcuterie boards and shareables. They will be located next to <strong>Poke Burri<\/strong> and the former <strong>Red, Hot &amp; Blue<\/strong>. The current location of <strong>Starbucks<\/strong> (in the 100 block) will move just across the street on the first floor of the <strong>Top of the Hill<\/strong> building at the corner of Franklin and Columbia Streets. No word on a timeline. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Last week our initial post about <strong>Zweli&#8217;s<\/strong> was incorrect. Here is how it was corrected, in case you missed the update: <strong>Chef Zweli Williams<\/strong>&nbsp;opened the evolved concept of the new enhanced&nbsp;<strong>Zweli\u2019s<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>Kitchen<\/strong>&nbsp;in Durham\u2019s&nbsp;<strong>Brightleaf Square<\/strong>&nbsp;this week. With the return of&nbsp;<strong>Zweli\u2019s<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>Kitchen<\/strong>, almost a year after closing the original location, they join the other two concepts under the&nbsp;<strong>Zweli\u2019s<\/strong>&nbsp;umbrella \u2013&nbsp;<strong>Zweli\u2019s<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>Ekhaya<\/strong>&nbsp;(at&nbsp;<strong>American Tobacco Campus<\/strong>) and&nbsp;<strong>Zweli\u2019s Cafe<\/strong>(at Duke Divinity). Make it a priority to get over to enjoy the rich flavors of Zimbabwean cuisine. West St. Their last day of operation there (they have two other locations) will be on April 7.  The hinted at moving to a new location. Come on Raleigh, your reputation as &#8220;drunk town&#8221; is slipping. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Christine Rhyne Johnson<\/strong> shared with us the news that <strong>Pieology<\/strong> has closed their <strong>North Hills<\/strong> location.
