They become the newest tenant of the <strong>SoCo Project<\/strong> spearheaded by <strong>Greg <\/strong>and<strong> Paula Stafford<\/strong> which has truly transformed the circle in downtown Pittsboro. <strong>SoCo<\/strong> features multiple restaurants and a brewery with a large continuous outdoor patio &#8211; a great gathering spot for the community. <strong>Doherty&#8217;s<\/strong> also has locations in Cary and Apex. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dohertysirishpubnc.com\/pittsboronc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Visit Doherty&#8217;s here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Wake County Restaurant News<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We learned this week that\u00a0<strong>Sweetgreen<\/strong>, the mission-driven restaurant brand serving healthy food at scale, will open a location in Raleigh\u2019s <strong>North Hills in\u00a0the Commons in North Hills<\/strong> at\u00a04158 Main at North Hills Street. While the concept has over 200 locations across the United States, this will be their second location in North Carolina (they have a location in Charlotte). Founded in 2007, they believe real food should be convenient and accessible to everyone &#8211; meals from fresh ingredients and produce that prioritizes organic, regenerative, and local sourcing. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetgreen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Get to know them here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>As the Wolfpack continues their winning ways on the court, Hillsborough Street is carrying on in the same winning ways with some big announcements along the popular student strip. First up, <strong>DePersia &amp; Associates&#8217; Michael DePersia<\/strong> shared with me that after many permitting delays with the City of Raleigh, <strong>Hibachi &amp; Co.<\/strong> was finally able to open up in their new, larger space right next door to their previous location at 2316 Hillsborough St.\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/raleigh.hibachicompany.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Visit Hibachi &amp; Co. here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>With the relocation to the space next door, that made way for their neighbor from Franklin Street, <strong>GRK Yeero<\/strong>, to join them on Hillsborough Street when they open up in the former <strong>Hibachi &amp; Co. <\/strong>space after a quick clean up and a fresh coat of paint. Raleighites, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grkyeero.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">get to know them here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. Thanks again to <strong>Michael DePersia<\/strong> for that tip. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>And just down the street, we can share that <strong>Global Village Organic Coffee<\/strong> at 2428 Hillsborough Street is now under new ownership. <strong>Patrick Byrd<\/strong>, owner and founder of <strong>Full Bloom Coffee<\/strong> in downtown Garner, took over ownership just a few weeks back. Don&#8217;t expect too many changes initially, but do expect <strong>Byrd<\/strong> to bring some of the magic that has made <strong>Full Bloom<\/strong> such a success and destination for downtown Garner to Raleigh&#8217;s Hillsborough Street. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/globalvillagecoffee\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Visit Global Village on Instagram here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In downtown Raleigh, <strong>Union Special&#8217;s <\/strong>owner and all-around good dude<strong> Andrew Ullom<\/strong> shared that they have made the difficult decision to close their location on Fayetteville Street. That&#8217;s the bad news. The good news is twofold. One, all of their awesomeness will continue at their original location at <strong>Gateway Plaza<\/strong> at 2409 Crabtree Blvd. just outside downtown. The second bit of good news is that they have already handed over the keys of the Fayetteville Street location to a concept called <strong>Bistro 401<\/strong>. More details to come on that (including an anticipated opening date) but know that it is family owned and operated operation. Additionally, they will have expanded hours, a diverse menu, a cozy atmosphere, and the addition of beer and wine. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>RALtoday<\/strong>\u00a0shared a quick update about a delay in the opening of\u00a0<strong>Mac\u2019s Speed Shop<\/strong>\u00a0in Raleigh\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Five Points<\/strong>\u00a0(in the former\u00a0<strong>Lonerider<\/strong>\u00a0space next to The Rialto). Originally scheduled for the end of March, they have pushed that back to April &#8211; so stay tuned. This will mark their 10th location and the first in the Triangle.\u00a0<strong>Mac\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0was founded 18 years ago by\u00a0<strong>Wynn Davis<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Hall Johnston<\/strong>\u00a0as a place that would blend their love for BBQ, beer and bikes. Everything is made from scratch including the barbecue sauces and dressings. But don\u2019t worry, you don\u2019t have to have a Harley, your minivan (and dog) are more than welcome there.\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/macspeedshop.com\/\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Get familiar with them here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We first told you about this back in December, but we learned this week that <strong>Estampa Gaucha<\/strong>, a traditional Brazilian steakhouse, is opening the second week in April in the bottom floor retail space inside Raleigh\u2019s new Westin hotel in\u00a0<strong>Brier Creek<\/strong>. The opening will happen nearly two years after the closure of\u00a0<strong>Brasa Brazilian Steakhouse<\/strong>, which was also in\u00a0<strong>Brier Creek<\/strong>. This will be the third location for owner\u00a0<strong>Ezequiel Manfrin<\/strong>. His other two locations are in Melbourne, Florida and Charlotte. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/estampagaucha.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Start getting familiar with them here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>RALtoday<\/strong> also shared that <strong>Jaguar Bolera<\/strong>\u00a0announced that they will open in May in <strong>Raleigh Iron Works<\/strong> (1101 E Whitaker Mill Rd.). The concept mixes Mexican flavor with the soul of Southern cuisine, bringing both worlds together in their woodfire oven. And they feature a massive playground with more games than you can shake a pin at (think Duckpin, pickleball, darts, corn hold, ping pong, foosball, karaoke and more) and a choice selection of libations on tap (with a self-serve wall). Sounds like a ton of fun! This will be their first location, with a second location underway in Atlanta. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jaguarbolera.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Visit them here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Durham, Orange &amp; Chatham Restaurant News<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In Chapel Hill, <strong>Michael DePersia<\/strong> of <strong>DePersia &amp; Associates<\/strong> shared that <strong>Dames Chicken &amp; Waffles<\/strong> decided not to reopen after winter break, but rather sell their assets to <strong>Voodoo Wing Co.<\/strong> who already has a presence on the campuses of Auburn and Alabama (as well as Vegas and most recently Rock Hill, SC). No word yet on an open date, so stay tuned. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voodoowingco.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Start getting familiar with them here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Also in Chapel Hill, <strong>Chapelboro.com<\/strong> shared the news this week that Indian street food concept <strong>Curry Up Now<\/strong>, which was founded in San Francisco in 2009, will open their first two locations (of five total) in the Chapel Hill and Durham markets. The first will be in Durham on Shannon Road in the <strong>University Hill<\/strong> development (think <strong>bul box<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Ap\u00e9ritif<\/strong>, <strong>Happy + Hale<\/strong>, and <strong>Cookout<\/strong>). The Chapel Hill location will be in a new building in the <strong>University Place<\/strong> redevelopment. If you are not familiar with Starbucks&#8230;.what? <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Back down in Pittsboro, the <strong>Chatham Journal Newspaper<\/strong> shared that the newest <strong>Zaxby\u2019s <\/strong>will open on March 25 at Northwood Landing (the development in front of Northwood High School). But here are some things to remember and not forget. Right now, one in five people in central and eastern North Carolina don\u2019t have enough to eat.&nbsp;<strong>The Food Bank<\/strong>provided over 88 million meals to families and individuals last year.&nbsp;<strong>The Food Bank\u2019s&nbsp;<\/strong>partner agency network has reported up to a 60% increase in neighbors visiting for food assistance.
