It will kick off today at noon and will run for 24 hours straight until noon on Saturday. The Food Bank and host <strong>Gregory Ng<\/strong> are coming together once again to raise $50,000 to provide 250,000 meals to children, families, and seniors in need during <strong>Hunger Action Month<\/strong>. The <strong>Duck Donuts<\/strong> location in Cary shared on Facebook this week that they are coming to North Raleigh. They will open their next location at <strong>Towne North<\/strong> (Creedmoor &amp; Strickland) in December 2015. Check out <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/duckdonuts.CaryNC?fref=ts\" target=\"_blank\">their announcement on their Facebook page here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>News &amp; Observer<\/strong> noted this week that Garner has its first bottle shop. <strong>The Beerded Lady Bottle Shop<\/strong> opened this week at 1350 Fifth Avenue near the intersection of Vandora Springs Road and U.S. Highway 70. Congratulations to <strong>Shannon Cummings <\/strong>and<strong> Antares Nicklow<\/strong>. The bar and craft beer bottle shop, where people can grab a brew and hang out or shop and take a six-pack and growlers for the road, has 12 taps that will rotate. To start, six North Carolina breweries &#8211; <strong>Mother Earth, Wicked Weed, Fullsteam, Mystery Brewing, Star Point <\/strong>and<strong> Haw River<\/strong> &#8211; are included in that mix. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/thebeerdedlady.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check them out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>News &amp; Observer<\/strong> reported this week that <strong>Blackjack Brewing Co.<\/strong> is leaving Raleigh and moving its operations to Wilmington. But don\u2019t worry too much, <strong>Blackjack\u2019s<\/strong> space near the Five Points area won\u2019t be empty for long. <strong>Lynnwood Grill and Brewing Concern<\/strong> plans to take over the space as a brewery and taphouse. <strong>Blackjack<\/strong> will close at the end of this month, and <strong>Lynwood<\/strong> should be up and running in the space by the end of October. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lynnwoodgrill.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Get more information on Lynwood here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>It\u2019s been one year since <strong>World of Beer-Cary<\/strong> opened its doors and to celebrate the tavern is hosting an anniversary party for the community on <strong>September 16th<\/strong>. Beginning at 5 p.m. that day, <strong>Wicked Weed Brewing<\/strong> will take over the taps. There will also be live music and special food offerings. World of beer is located at 2036 Renaissance Park Place. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/worldofbeer.com\/Locations\/Cary\" target=\"_blank\">Get more details here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Durham, Orange &amp; Chatham County Restaurant News<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Saw in the Shelby Food Service magazine that <strong>Cara Stacy, Gray Brooks<\/strong> and<strong> Jay Owens<\/strong>, the team behind downtown Durham\u2019s <strong>Pizzeria Toro<\/strong>, will open a diner in the soon-to-be-renovated Jack Tar hotel about a block from the pizzeria. The opening is projected for summer 2016. While the hotel is likely to be renamed, the diner will be called <strong>Jack Tar Diner<\/strong>. We will keep an eye on this one!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Also in Durham, Duke University announced that the folks behind <strong>Geer Street Garden<\/strong> and <strong>The Boot<\/strong> will be will operating the pub space in the new West Union on campus. The casual dining restaurant, known as <strong>The Devil&#8217;s Krafthouse<\/strong>, will serve as one of the the premier venues for social gathering on campus. The restaurant will offer classic pub fare alongside a variety of beverages to include local microbrew selections. <strong>The Devil\u2019s Krafthouse<\/strong> is scheduled to open in February of 2016. Sorry to see them go.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Food Trucks<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>John Huisman<\/strong> (aka <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/triangleexplorer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">Triangle Explorer<\/a><\/span><\/strong>) informed me about the fact that every Thursday from September through November, the <strong>Town of Knightdale<\/strong> is hosting <strong>&#8220;Food Truck Thursdays&#8221;<\/strong> with a new food truck scheduled each week. Enjoy!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Tickets have gone on sale for one of the biggest foodie events around &#8211; the <strong>TerraVita Food &amp; Drink Festival<\/strong>, which will be held in Chapel Hill <strong>October 8-10<\/strong>. The festival\u00a0will feature over\u00a060 breweries from\u00a0across the state and beyond, more food trucks than last year with at least\u00a020 trucks. And one of their favorite parts of this event is <strong>Cafe Insecta<\/strong> where the brave can sample buggy dishes prepared by local chefs.
