As you\u2019ll remember, <strong>Plates<\/strong> took over the former<strong> Zely &amp; Ritz<\/strong> location at 301 Glenwood Avenue. They had their soft opening last night. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plateskitchen\" target=\"_blank\">You can check them out on Facebook here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>Wake County Restaurant News\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Staying with downtown Raleigh news, the <strong>Garland<\/strong> on Martin Street is getting ever closer to the opening of their dining room. It was reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/newraleigh\/\" target=\"_blank\">New Raleigh<\/a> that their walk-up window has ceased operations, a clear indicator that we are that much closer to the opening of their dining room. We\u2019ll continue to keep an eye on it. The best place to stay current is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/garlandrestaurant\" target=\"_blank\">their Facebook page here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>TerraFin Station<\/strong> will open next Monday (<strong>November 4<\/strong>) in place of <strong>Falls Tap Room<\/strong> which closed earlier this year. The restaurant will serve American fare with locally-sourced ingredients, including steak and seafood entr\u00e9es. <strong>TerraFin Station<\/strong> currently has a location open in Garner. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.terrafinstation.com\/TerraFin_Station\/Home.html\" target=\"_blank\">Check them out here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>This week we got a confirmed opening date on the new <strong>Chuy\u2019s<\/strong> location over at <strong>North Hills<\/strong> in Raleigh. From company officials, we now know that they are opening on Tuesday, <strong>November 19th<\/strong>. I can almost taste it now! <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chuys.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check them out here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>We also got word this week that North Carolina\u2019s newest <strong>Dave &amp; Buster\u2019s<\/strong> location will open its doors to the public next week on Wednesday, <strong>Nov. 6<\/strong><strong>. Dave &amp; Buster\u2019s<\/strong> will be located in <strong>Cary Towne Center<\/strong>. Get familiar with this newest fun and interactive dining experience <a href=\"http:\/\/www.daveandbusters.com\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">by visiting them here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Another location of <strong>Pizza Hut \/ Wing Street<\/strong> has opened &#8211; this time in Morrisville at 11010 Lake Grove Boulevard. What was originally supposed to be just a delivery location, it has opened with a small dining room. They are located just off Davis Drive next to the UPS store.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And if you are looking for holiday gift ideas, the <strong>Downtown Raleigh Alliance<\/strong> has created the perfect option &#8211; a <strong>Shop Downtown gift card<\/strong> that, among other retail options, gives you access to over 37 downtown restaurants. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.godowntownraleigh.com\/shop-downtown\/gift-cards\" target=\"_blank\">Get your gift card(s) here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>Durham, Orange &amp; Chatham County Restaurant News\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Baguettaboutit<\/strong>, the food truck that sells a variety of sausage-stuffed baked French baguettes, is holding a grand opening celebration today (<strong>November 1<\/strong>) from 5-8 p.m. just prior to their brick and mortar location opening next Monday, <strong>Nov. 4.<\/strong> Today\u2019s grand opening celebration will be a food truck rodeo including <strong>Baguettaboutit, Sweet Traditions, Captain Poncho <\/strong>and<strong> American Meltdown<\/strong>. <strong>Baguettaboutit Cafe<\/strong> will be at 2945 S. Miami Blvd., behind Sheetz and Waffle House in the former <strong>Worth It Caf\u00e9<\/strong> location. <a href=\"http:\/\/baguettaboutit.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Get more details here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>We just got word that <strong>Caf\u00e9 LOVE<\/strong>, from the folks over at <strong>Triangle Raw Foods<\/strong>, has found a new home, but they are not disclosing the exact location until they sign the lease. <a href=\"http:\/\/trianglerawfoods.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check out Triangle Raw Foods here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And over in Chapel Hill, I happened to stumble upon a new restaurant that has just opened in the <strong>Gateway Commons Shopping Center<\/strong> on East Franklin (think Staples and Blockbuster, in the former <strong>Quizno\u2019s<\/strong>, then <strong>Camos Brothers<\/strong> location). It is called <strong>Caf\u00e9 35<\/strong>, but I didn\u2019t have a chance to investigate any further, but I will do so this week. Perhaps it is affiliated with <strong>Chinese 35<\/strong> which will have to move from its current <strong>University Square<\/strong> location. I will know more next week.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>Closings\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Downtown Raleigh&#8217;s <strong>Pop Up Ice Cream Parlour<\/strong> confirmed this week on their Facebook page that this Sunday (<strong>November 3rd<\/strong>) will be their last day of operations. No word yet on whether they will &#8220;pop up&#8221; somewhere else. We&#8217;ll keep an eye on it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And in even more terrible news, \u201cFor Rent\u201d signs went up in the former <strong>LocoPops<\/strong> location in Raleigh (and we assume in Chapel Hill as well). Thankfully the Durham location remains!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>Food Trucks\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>It is happening again. From one truck to two trucks and now to a permanent brick and mortar location. That is right, just after midnight, <strong>KoKyu<\/strong> was able to pass their <strong>$46,000 kickstarter goal with the support of 458 people<\/strong> who wanted a permanent location in downtown Durham. So, I guess that will be the next big announcement &#8211; the actual location of <strong>KoKyu<\/strong>. Congrats! <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/kokyuBBQ\" target=\"_blank\">Check them out here<\/a>.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>Events<\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The Taste of North Hills<\/strong> week concludes this weekend with great specials at <strong>8 great restaurants<\/strong> in the <strong>North Hills<\/strong> area. Each restaurant has special three-course menus for $15 at lunch and $30 at dinner. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.northhillsraleigh.com\/taste-of-north-hills-restaurant-week-is-back\/\" target=\"_blank\">Get all the details here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>If there is one way to bring Duke and Carolina together this time of year, it is beer. This all-day fundraiser supports the <strong>IFC\u2019s<\/strong> hunger-relief efforts in Orange County.
