Impress your co-workers at the water cooler.<\/h3>\n<div>\n<div><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Featured Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0If you are looking for holiday gift ideas, the <strong>Downtown Raleigh Alliance<\/strong> has created the perfect option &#8211; a<strong> Shop Downtown gift card<\/strong> that, among other retail options, gives you access to over 37 downtown restaurants. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.godowntownraleigh.com\/shop-downtown\/gift-cards\" target=\"_blank\">Get your gift card(s) here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Wake County Restaurant News\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Downtown Raleigh\u2019s newest watering hole opened this week &#8211; <strong>Paddy O\u2019Beers<\/strong> is located at 121 Fayetteville Street, directly across from <strong>Isaac Hunter&#8217;s Oak City Tavern<\/strong>. <a href=\"http:\/\/paddyobeers.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check them out here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And in other alcohol related news in downtown Raleigh, the <strong>Triangle Business Journal<\/strong> reported this week the bizarre scenario of <strong>Napper Tandy\u2019s<\/strong> closing on West Street, but opening the next day in the former <strong>Murphy\u2019s Law<\/strong> restaurant location at 410 Glenwood Avenue (<strong>Murphy\u2019s Law<\/strong> was owned by the same folks that own <strong>Napper Tandy\u2019s<\/strong>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>North Carolina\u2019s newest <strong>Dave &amp; Buster\u2019s<\/strong> location opened in Cary two days ago. <strong>Dave &amp; Buster\u2019s<\/strong> is located in <strong>Cary Towne Center<\/strong>. Get familiar with this newest fun and interactive dining experience <a href=\"http:\/\/www.daveandbusters.com\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">by visiting them here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Also in Cary, we got word from a comment on the <strong>Chowhound<\/strong> blog that Cary is now home to a Cantonese restaurant called <strong>Banana Leaf<\/strong>. It is located off of Cary Towne Boulevard and Walnut Street at 1026 Ryan Road in the former <strong>Bombay Beijing<\/strong> space. I couldn\u2019t find a web page for it, but <a href=\"http:\/\/www.yelp.com\/biz\/banana-leaf-cary\" target=\"_blank\">here are a few Yelp reviews of it<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And in the Cary rumor file, I have received word from <strong>David McCreary<\/strong> (aka <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lunchboysays.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Lunchboy Says&#8230;<\/a>) that he has a very reliable source that informed him that <strong>Chubby Taco\u2019s<\/strong> will open their 6th Triangle area location in Cary next spring. We are going to hold <strong>David<\/strong> to this! We\u2019ll keep you posted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Up in Wake Forest, <strong>WRAL<\/strong> turned us onto the fact that <strong>Tlaquepaque Mexican<\/strong> has opened in the location that used to be <strong>O&#8217;Charley&#8217;s<\/strong> at 11206 Capital Boulevard. <a href=\"http:\/\/tlaquepaquemexican.com\/?q=home\" target=\"_blank\">Check them out here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Keeping things in Wake Forest, <strong>WRAL<\/strong> also reported last week that another restaurant is in the early stages. Next to <strong>Tlaquepaque<\/strong>, in the old <strong>Steak \u2018n Shake<\/strong> location, will be a place called <strong>Britino\u2019s<\/strong>. No other information is available at this time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And out in Fuquay Varina (aka the Quay) <strong>Hosana Brewery and Pub<\/strong> opened last month with 12 beers on tap. Need we say more? <a href=\"http:\/\/hosannabrewing.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check them out here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Durham, Orange &amp; Chatham County Restaurant News\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Got word from <strong>John Huisman<\/strong> (aka <a href=\"http:\/\/triangleexplorer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Triangle Explorer)<\/a> that later this month Durham will become home to a mobile, solar powered coffee bar called <strong>Caffe Bellezza<\/strong>. The \u201ctruck\u201d is the brainchild of <strong>Tim Morris<\/strong> and his wife <strong>Julie<\/strong>. We\u2019ll keep an eye on it and let you know when it hits the streets. In the meantime, <a href=\"http:\/\/caffebellezza.com\/main.html\" target=\"_blank\">check them out here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Herald-Sun<\/strong> is reporting that Durham is getting ready to get a new burger joint when <strong>Smashburger<\/strong> opens in the <strong>Pavilion East<\/strong> complex on Erwin Road near Duke University Hospital. They are expected to be open next spring. <a href=\"http:\/\/smashburger.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Get a peek at them here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Herald-Sun<\/strong> is also reporting that the Durham version of <strong>The Pit<\/strong>, part of the <strong>Empire Eats<\/strong> family, is slated to open in the next two to three weeks. The restaurant is planned to open in a former soda bottling plant at the corner of West Geer Street and Rigsbee Avenue, across from Motorco Music Hall. It\u2019s in the same building as <strong>Fullsteam Brewery<\/strong>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thepit-raleigh.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Here is a peek at their Raleigh location<\/a>, if you haven&#8217;t been.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The owners of <strong>Triangle Raw Foods<\/strong>, who will soon be opening <strong>Caf\u00e9 LOVE<\/strong> over in Durham, announced this week that they have secured a location. While they haven\u2019t told us exactly where it will be, we do know it is in the<strong> South Square<\/strong> area near <strong>Piper\u2019s Deli<\/strong>. We will keep you posted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Herald-Sun<\/strong> reports that <strong>Don Martelo\u2019s<\/strong> has opened in the <strong>Erwin Terrace<\/strong> shopping center off Erwin Road. It\u2019s in the second-floor space that fronts on Erwin Road that previously housed <strong>Sandella\u2019s Flatbread Caf\u00e9<\/strong>. The development is also home to <strong>Nosh<\/strong> and <strong>Six Plates Wine Bar<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And over in Carrboro, if you find yourself in the market to purchase a successful restaurant, you\u2019ll want to take a look at <strong>The Spotted Dog<\/strong>, located between Main Street and Weaver Street right in the heart of downtown Carrboro. This week the building that houses <strong>Pizzeria Toro<\/strong> and <strong>The Cupcake Bar<\/strong> in downtown Durham caught fire leading to the temporary closing of these two establishments. We\u2019ll keep an eye on them as they work towards reopening soon.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Food Trucks\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Cary is jumping on the food wagon trend tonight (<strong>November 8<\/strong>) from 5-9 p.m. as they host the first-ever <strong>Cary Food Truck Rally &amp; Local Craft Beer Expo.<\/strong> It will be held outside <strong>Rally Point Sport Grill<\/strong>, in the parking lot of <strong>Harrison Square Shopping Center<\/strong>. The cost is $5 with all proceeds benefiting the <strong>U.S. Veterans Corps<\/strong>. This all-day fundraiser supports the IFC\u2019s hunger-relief efforts in Orange County.
