Impress your co-workers at the water cooler.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Featured Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0The <strong>News &amp; Observer<\/strong> reported this week that <strong>Leon Grodski de Barrera<\/strong> and <strong>Areli Barrera de Grodski<\/strong>, owners of the <strong>Cocoa Cinnamon<\/strong> coffee shop, expect to open their second Durham location within the next couple weeks at 2627 Hillsborough Road in Durham, next door to <strong>Mesa Latin Kitchen<\/strong>. Their original location is on West Greer Street in downtown Durham. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cocoacinnamon.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check them out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Wake County Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div><strong>Indy Week<\/strong> reported this week that the former <strong>Tyler\u2019s<\/strong> location at <strong>Seaboard Station<\/strong> in downtown Raleigh will have new life, as early as May of this year. Apparently before opting out of his lease, <strong>Tyler Huntington<\/strong> had recruited some brewers out of Wisconsin. Word is that those brewers will carry out <strong>Huntington\u2019s<\/strong> vision for that space, a full-on brewery surrounding diners on all sides. While the individuals behind it, nor the name, have been revealed, they plan on opening a 10-barrel brewpub by May. Stay tuned!<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>We are waiting&#8230;and waiting. They say good things come to those that wait. And this is going to be good! <strong>Teddy Klopf\u2019s Provenance<\/strong> restaurant on the first floor of the new Skyhouse luxury apartment building on East Martin Street in downtown Raleigh is opening&#8230;any day now. <strong>Klopf<\/strong> describes the restaurant as \u201crefined new Southern cuisine in a contemporary, casual setting.\u201d He previously worked at <strong>McCrady\u2019s<\/strong> in Charleston, S.C., and <strong>The Umstead Hotel and Spa<\/strong> in Cary. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/provenanceraleigh.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check them out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Got word straight from <strong>Brad Barbour<\/strong> that his much-anticipated <strong>Shuckin\u2019 Shack Oyster Bar<\/strong> in Cary\u2019s <strong>Preston Corners<\/strong> has officially opened! It is located in the old <strong>Caribou Coffee<\/strong> location. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.theshuckinshack.com\/location\/loc\/cary\" target=\"_blank\">Check them out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>The <strong>Triangle Business Journal<\/strong> reported yesterday that<strong> BJ&#8217;s Restaurant &amp; Brewhouse<\/strong>, a California-based concept, has acquired the former <strong>Golden Corral<\/strong> building in the <strong>Centrum at Crossroads<\/strong> shopping center. They plan to tear it down, and build from scratch. No word yet on their timeline, but they have plans for an additional 4-5 locations throughout the Triangle. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bjsrestaurants.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check them out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>And also in Cary, saw on a <strong>Yelp<\/strong> message board that a new Nepali restaurant, called <strong>Himalayan Range Nepali Restaurant<\/strong>, is opening in the <strong>Reedy Creek Plaza<\/strong> at 910 NE Maynard Road. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/himalayanrangenepalirestaurant.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check them out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Durham, Orange &amp; Chatham County Restaurant News<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>News &amp; Observer<\/strong> reported that <strong>Six Plates<\/strong> co-owner <strong>Matthew Beason<\/strong> announced that he will be closing the popular Durham restaurant and wine bar on <strong>March 11<\/strong>. But the good news is that he hopes to reopen with a new concept by April 1. Stay tuned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Next Tuesday, <strong>January 19th<\/strong>, <strong>M Sushi<\/strong> will open in downtown Durham at 311 Holland Street, across from the <strong>Durham Hotel<\/strong>. <strong>M Sushi<\/strong> is the latest from chef <strong>Michael Lee<\/strong> who also owns <strong>Sono<\/strong> sushi restaurant in downtown Raleigh. The folks over at <strong>Bites of Bull City<\/strong> did a really nice interview with <strong>Lee<\/strong>. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bitesofbullcity.blogspot.com\/2016\/01\/pre-opening-q-with-m-sushi.html\" target=\"_blank\">Check out the full interview here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Burgeoning Baker<\/strong> pointed out that <strong>Bruster\u2019s<\/strong> ice cream is moving into the former <strong>Moonberrie\u2019s<\/strong> location next to <strong>Rise<\/strong> near the <strong>Streets at Southpoint<\/strong>. But they will go out in class \u201c<strong>G<\/strong>\u201d style, with a big bash. Join them from 5 p.m. until midnight for a \u201cLast Day Party\u201d featuring drink specials, and whatever food they have left! Needless to say, we will keep an eye on it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And over in Durham, <strong>Six Plates<\/strong> on Erwin Road will close on <strong>March 11<\/strong>. Look for a new concept in that space by April 1.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Food Trucks<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>The <strong>Downtown Raleigh Food Truck Rodeo<\/strong> has announced its dates for this year: <strong>May 1, June 12, Aug. 7 and Oct. 9<\/strong>. Ballentine Street) as part of the <strong>4<\/strong><strong>th<\/strong><strong> Annual Community Arts Festival<\/strong>.
