Well, the <strong>Triangle Business Journal<\/strong> reported this week that <strong>Kristen Mullins<\/strong>, owner of <strong>Slice Pie Company<\/strong> in Raleigh, is moving to 606 N. Person Street to share space with cake bakery <strong>Sugar Euphoria<\/strong>, owned by <strong>Randi Smith<\/strong>. The move ends a three-year run on South Saunders Street and as fate would have it, <strong>Slice<\/strong> will host its grand opening today. In addition to incredible pies (like apple, pecan, key lime and lemon) they will also serve coffee &#8211; and will host events and classes. And as we noted at the end of February, <strong>Crofton\u2019s Pretzels<\/strong>\u00a0of Wilmington has opened in the former <strong>Slice<\/strong> location at 1400 S. Saunders Street. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.slicepiecompany.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Visit Slice here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Wake County Restaurant News<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Raleigh Magazine<\/strong> reported this week that the folks at <strong>Sushi Mon<\/strong> will open up <strong>Monya Ramen and Izakaya<\/strong> (two new concepts in one) next door to their location in <strong>Glenwood Place<\/strong> just inside the beltline on Glenwood Avenue. They will open in the former <strong>Sost<\/strong> spot sometime this winter. The new concept will feature a ramen and noodle bar on one side, and an Izakaya (aka a casual-atmosphere gastropub) on the other. The menu will feature both a traditional and contemporary Japanese made-to-order ramen, along with a curated selection of sake, beer and soju according to the magazine. Until then, <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sushimonraleigh.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">visit Sushi Mon here<\/a><\/mark><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>RALtoday<\/strong> reported that <strong>The Crunkleton<\/strong>, a legendary Chapel Hill bar, is set to open in <strong>Smoky Hollow<\/strong> in downtown Raleigh later this month, and the bar is\u00a0offering membership\u00a0to its exclusive club for free for the first 1,000 patrons. Top Shelf membership promises early access to special events, like the bar\u2019s pre-opening party. But don&#8217;t worry pizza lovers, the restaurant will serve limited pizzas on weekends. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pizzeriafaulisi.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\"><strong>Check out the new place here<\/strong><\/mark><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A quick update over in <strong>Brier Creek<\/strong> thanks to reader <strong>Jennifer Buchholz<\/strong>. She noted that signage is up on the former <strong>Applebee&#8217;s Grill and Bar<\/strong> location (8701 Brier Creek Pkwy.) in <strong>Brier Creek Commons<\/strong> as it will soon be home to <strong>Cabo Mexican Cuisine<\/strong>. Stay tuned as we couldn&#8217;t locate an online presence just yet. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Up in North Raleigh, reader <strong>Rebekka Mastin <\/strong>notified us that a new restaurant is finally taking over the space formerly occupied by <strong>Your Pie Pizza<\/strong> on Old Wake Forest Rd at Capital Boulevard (6320 Capital Blvd.). The signs are up for <strong>May Bakery and Cafe<\/strong> on both the building and the shopping center&#8217;s sign. The site suggests it will be a cozy space where French elegance meets Vietnamese tradition. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/maybakery.cafe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Keep up with their progress on Instagram here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Also in North Raleigh, <strong>Triangle Business Journal <\/strong>reported this week that <strong>Beow\u2019s Books &amp; Brews<\/strong>, located at 8111 Creedmoor Road in Raleigh, plans to open a second venue this summer in the\u00a0<strong>Falls River Town Center<\/strong>\u00a0near\u00a0WakeMed North Hospital. <strong>TBJ <\/strong>noted that the expansion comes just 15 months after<strong> Beow\u2019s<\/strong> first debuted. Like its first location, founder <strong>Jim Ranieri <\/strong>is envisioning the new <strong>Beow\u2019s<\/strong> as a community hub with coffee, a robust food menu, beer and plenty of classics, of course. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/beows.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Visit Beow&#8217;s here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Who wouldn&#8217;t want to see the Stanley Cup back in Raleigh?!? The business aims to be a casual southern cooking spot, starting with lunches and brunches five days a week. <strong>Tonya\u2019s Caf\u00e9<\/strong> will be next to <strong>Tonya\u2019s Cookies Company<\/strong>, which opened in the <strong>Galleria<\/strong> shopping center in December, 2023. <strong>Tonya\u2019s Caf\u00e9<\/strong> will have its grand opening with its regular hours on <strong>Wednesday, Mar. 19<\/strong>.\u00a0In the meantime, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/tonyascookiesco\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">you can visit Tonya&#8217;s Cookies here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Bru\u2019s Public House<\/strong>\u00a0in Carrboro is launching weekend brunch service beginning this <strong>Saturday, March 15<\/strong>. Good luck getting in between now and their closing at the end of this month on March 30th. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>After a 7-year run, <strong>Fridas Patio Mexican Cuisine<\/strong> in Cary announced via Facebook that they have closed. They were located on Kildaire Farm Road. They will turn their energy to their food truck, <strong>Cartel Tacos<\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Glenn Gillen<\/strong> shared with me that <strong>Brunello Wine Bar<\/strong> (on Market Street in Durham) owner <strong>Esteban Brunello<\/strong> posted on Instagram that they will be closing in two weeks. But <strong>Gillen<\/strong> also noted that the post says, &#8220;And while this chapter is closing &#8230;. stay tuned.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Food Trucks<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The remaining schedule for the <strong>Durham Central Park Food Truck Rodeos<\/strong> is as follows: <strong>April 13<\/strong>; <strong>June 1<\/strong>; and <strong>November 2<\/strong>..
