Impress your co-workers at the water cooler.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Featured Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Got word from <strong>Amber Watson<\/strong> over at the <strong>Bites of Bull City Blog<\/strong> that <strong>Scott Howell<\/strong> and <strong>Aubrey Zinaich Howell<\/strong>, owners of <strong>Nana\u2019s, NanaTaco <\/strong>and<strong> Bar Virgile<\/strong>, will open their steakhouse, hopefully next week. Aptly called <strong>NanaSteak<\/strong>, it is located on the ground floor of the <strong>Aloft Hotel<\/strong> in downtown Durham next to the <strong>DPAC<\/strong>. You can read <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bitesofbullcity.blogspot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Amber&#8217;s full write-up on NanaSteak here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Wake County Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Triangle Business Journal<\/strong> reported this week that Charlotte\u2019s <strong>Luna\u2019s Living Kitchen<\/strong> will take up space in downtown Raleigh\u2019s <strong>Charter Square<\/strong>. For those not familiar with <strong>Luna\u2019s<\/strong>, it is an organic, mostly raw restaurant serving plant-based cuisine and cold-pressed juices. No word on an exact date, other than sometime this year. We\u2019ll keep an eye on it. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/livingkitchen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check them out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And speaking of downtown Raleigh\u2019s <strong>Charter Square<\/strong>, I spoke with <strong>b.good\u2019s Steve Woodward<\/strong> yesterday and he indicated that things continue to progress with their second location and all indications are that they will be open next month. Grand opening plans will be released soon. In the meantime, you can check out their location in <strong>North Hills<\/strong>. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bgood.com\/raleigh-nc-menu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check out b.good here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>News &amp; Observer<\/strong> reported that the <strong>Boylan Bridge Brewpub<\/strong> has closed indefinitely after a wall in the basement collapsed, causing cracks in the outdoor deck\u2019s support beams. Initial inspections suggest it is just the deck that is impacted, with the main building unaffected. Owner <strong>Andrew Leager<\/strong> hopes to get the main building reopened as soon as possible. Keep up with the latest <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/BoylanBridgePub\/\" target=\"_blank\">on their Facebook page here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Also in downtown Raleigh, saw on the blog <strong>The Raleigh Connoisseur<\/strong> that <strong>Raleigh Raw<\/strong> is that much closer to opening up a cafe at 7 West Hargett Street after the successful completion of their Kickstarter campaign. If they are on schedule, they should open later this month when they will offer \u201chealthy grab and go food, local organic coffee, kombucha and smoothies.\u201d <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/RaleighRaw\/?fref=ts\" target=\"_blank\">Keep up with them here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Durham, Orange &amp; Chatham County Restaurant News<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0The short-lived <strong>Cafe Symmetry<\/strong> space in Carrboro\u2019s <strong>Carr Mill Mall<\/strong> will not re-open as previously thought. Instead, <strong>Younes Sabouh<\/strong> and <strong>Emma Dunbar<\/strong>, who have both most recently been at Chapel HIll\u2019s <strong>City Kitchen<\/strong>, have teamed up to create <strong>Tandem<\/strong>, a new locally sourced restaurant specializing in modern American cuisine. Look for an April opening. Check them out <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/tandemcarrboro\/\" target=\"_blank\">on Facebook here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>News &amp; Observer<\/strong> reported this week that Chapel Hill\u2019s <strong>The Bagel Bar<\/strong> will open a second location in downtown Durham at 104 City Hall Plaza, directly across from City Hall. Look for it to be very similar to the Chapel Hill location and they are aiming for an opening sometime in May. Keep up with their progress <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/TheBagelBar\" target=\"_blank\">on their Facebook page here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Kudos to craft brewery and Chapel Hill institution, <strong>Carolina Brewery<\/strong>, which is celebrating 21 years in the microbrewery business this month! And today, February 12, as part of that celebration, the brewpub will be giving away limited edition anniversary glasses to the first 500 beer customers at the flagship location in Chapel Hill. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/carolinabrewery.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check them out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Saw on a <strong>Yelp<\/strong> message board that in Durham\u2019s <strong>Sutton Square<\/strong>, the former <strong>Sunset Grille<\/strong>, which became <strong>58Fifty Bistro<\/strong>, has now changed, at least on their Facebook page, to <strong>Pale &amp; Porter<\/strong>. The <strong>58Fifty<\/strong> website remains, so we\u2019re not sure what all this means. In the meantime, check out their <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/58fifty\/\" target=\"_blank\">Facebook page here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On a recent visit to Chapel Hill\u2019s <strong>Tandoor Indian Restaurant<\/strong> with my buddy <strong>Omar Zinn<\/strong>, I learned that the Chapel Hill institution had recently changed hands and is now under the guidance of <strong>Bhadresh Patel<\/strong>, owner of <strong>Biryani House<\/strong> on Chatham Street in Cary. <strong>Patel<\/strong> said an infusion of flavor would be the biggest change to the restaurant. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/tandoorindian.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check them out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Closings<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Got word from multiple sources that <strong>The Square Rabbit<\/strong>, a 25-year institution in downtown Raleigh, had closed as of this past Saturday.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Thanks to a heads-up from reader <strong>Joseph Deem<\/strong>, we learned that <strong>Los Potrillos<\/strong> on Rosemary Street in Chapel Hill will close their doors this Saturday, apparently to make way for a hotel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Food Trucks<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>The <strong>Downtown Raleigh Food Truck Rodeo<\/strong> has announced its dates for this year: <strong>May 1, June 12, Aug. 7 and Oct. 9<\/strong>.
