Former downtown Raleigh vegetarian and vegan hotspot <strong>Fiction Kitchen<\/strong> is moving from their current location at <strong>Gateway Plaza<\/strong> (next to <strong>Union Special<\/strong>)\u00a0to the plaza\u2019s other side where they&#8217;ll be alongside <strong>Mala Pata<\/strong>, an upcoming new Mexican restaurant and bar. <strong>Mala Pata<\/strong> is a collaboration between some pretty cool restaurant veterans &#8211; <strong>Angela Salamanca<\/strong>, <strong>Marshall Davis<\/strong> (<strong>Centro<\/strong>, <strong>Gallo Pel\u00f3n Mezcaleria<\/strong>, <strong>Ex-Voto<\/strong>, <strong>Patty Boy<\/strong>) and chefs <strong>Eric Montagne<\/strong> and <strong>Zack Gragg<\/strong> (<strong>Standard Beer + Food<\/strong>, <strong>Locals Seafood<\/strong>). And we get to go back in again soon as we learned this week that <strong>Oakwood Pizza Box<\/strong>, the popular downtown Raleigh pizzeria, is taking over former <strong>Capital Creations<\/strong> space and opening a carry-out only location at 1842 Wake Forest Road. Occupying the former Google Fiber building (and before that <strong>518 West<\/strong>), <strong>Westwood<\/strong> is now in its soft-opening phase at 518 W. He shared with me this week that the former <strong>Red Lobster <\/strong>location (4416 Durham-Chapel Hill Boulevard) will soon be home to the newest location of <strong>La Buena Vida<\/strong>. They already have two locations in the Triangle &#8211; Raleigh (4516 Falls of the Neuse Road) and Cary (Cary Parkway and Kildaire Farm). If you haven&#8217;t been, it is definitely a blend of bold Mexican flavors and a vibrant atmosphere. Look for their dishes inspired by the rich flavors of Central and South America. It will be parked outside their store at 5619 Hillsborough Street.
