The extremely popular neighborhood restaurant and sports bar opened this week in the North Raleigh&#8217;s <strong>Lafayette Village<\/strong>. The fun, open and bright environment of their newest spot has a tv on what appears to be every square inch of wall space, and at each booth! It is truly a beautiful space, and also features a cozy outdoor patio overlooking <strong>Lafayette&#8217;s<\/strong> green space (currently under turf renovation). They are open Sunday thru Thursday, 11 a.m. until midnight\u2060; and Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. until 2 a.m. And they are not done yet &#8211; a fifth location will open soon in Youngsville. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/thepickledonionrestaurant.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Visit Pickled Onion here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Wake County Restaurant News<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Raleigh Magazine<\/strong> shared that <strong>Red, Hot &amp; Blue<\/strong> returns to Raleigh this coming <strong>Monday, June 23rd<\/strong> at the <strong>Quail Corners Shopping Center<\/strong> (1326 E. Millbrook Rd.). If you are not familiar with them, they are a full-service, blues-themed group of restaurants serving up signature hickory smoked BBQ favorites, and regional specialties. They also have a location in Morrisville. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/redhotandblue.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Visit them here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Triangle Business Journal<\/strong> reported this week that <strong>Jeff&#8217;s Bagel Run<\/strong>, which opened in Wake Forest last September and will open a second Triangle-area location in\u00a0Rolesville in the coming months, has signed a lease for a third location &#8212; this one in Raleigh at 4251 Parklake Ave. in <strong>GlenLake Office Park<\/strong> (just up from <strong>Crabtree Valley Mall<\/strong>). Look for a fall opening for the Raleigh location. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/jeffsbagelrun.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Get familiar with the franchise here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <strong>News &amp; Observer<\/strong> reported that <strong>Eggs Up Grill<\/strong>\u00a0is opening a new location at 10501 Shadowlawn Drive in Raleigh (think <strong>Bedford<\/strong> community off Durant Road near <strong>Nantucket<\/strong>) on <strong>Monday, June 30<\/strong>. This is the third for franchise owners <strong>Tahir Kakar<\/strong> and <strong>Pankaj Parmar<\/strong>. Expect to find the usual breakfast fare including omelets, breakfast sandwiches, bowls and mimosas. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/eggsupgrill.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Visit Eggs Up Grill here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Up in Wake Forest, <strong>Flying Biscuit Cafe<\/strong> will soon open their fifth Triangle-area location of the all-day breakfast, brunch, and lunch concept. They will be located in the space previously occupied by<strong> East Coast Wings<\/strong> at <strong>Wake Forest Crossing<\/strong> (12646 Capital Boulevard). Look for them to open in November. In the meantime, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/flyingbiscuit.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">visit one of the other Triangle-area locations here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>David McCreary<\/strong> shared with me that <strong>Lucci Blue&#8217;s Social Cafe &amp; Deli <\/strong>at 209 Fayetteville Street in the Varina business district of Fuquay is now in soft-open mode. Located at 3151 Elion Drive (at the intersection of Davis Drive and Hwy. 54), walk into a new little corner store, grab-and-go boutique bodega where you will find plenty of beautiful flowers, lots of little goodies, featured baked goods from\u00a0<strong>Lutra Cafe and Bakery<\/strong> and <strong>Preeti Waas<\/strong>, fresh produce, a fridge full of dairy and meat, and an assortment of other provisions. Franklin Street (<strong>Old Chicago<\/strong> spot), will be a modern, bold high-energy bar and restaurant designed for connection, play, and flavor. A highlight of their full bar is a dedicated milkshake bar stand serving both classic and spiked milkshakes. Yes, please! If you are not familiar with them, they have a location over in Cary (712 SE Maynard Rd.) offering authentic French breads, pastries, desserts, coffee and boba tea. The carefree days of summer should be filled with play and growth, not hunger. Yet, for vulnerable children across central and eastern North Carolina, the end of the school year triggers a stark reality: the loss of consistent, reliable meals. Consider this: <strong>173,710 children in our region are currently facing food insecurity<\/strong>. Parents must come up with at least 10 additional meals per child for every week that school is out. Without immediate intervention, their well-being and development are at serious risk. We cannot allow these young lives to be defined by hunger!
