Impress your co-workers at the water cooler.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Featured Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>News &amp; Observer<\/strong> reported this week that longtime Triangle restaurateur <strong>Giorgios Bakatsias<\/strong> will open <strong>Boheme<\/strong> in the former <strong>Straw Valley Food + Drink<\/strong> space at the intersection of 15-501 and Interstate 40 in Durham. <strong>Bakatsias<\/strong> said chefs <strong>Chelsea Mock<\/strong> and <strong>Damon Barham<\/strong> will lead the kitchen, garden and bar, which will open in May. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/bohemedurham.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check out the website here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Wake County Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div><strong>James Borden\u2019s Development Beat<\/strong> was the first to report that Glenwood South\u2019s <strong>Tobacco Road Sports Cafe<\/strong> (222 Glenwood Avenue) would move around the corner to the former <strong>Natty Greene\u2019s<\/strong> space at 505 West Jones Street. Construction has already started and they hope to open the new location by the end of August. That also means the current location has closed (as of yesterday) to focus on the new location. Now, a $1 million renovation will give us a more open dining area, a new kitchen and a new menu. It is being opened by <strong>Younes Sabouh<\/strong> and <strong>Emma Dunbar<\/strong>, who have been the chef and general manager respectively at <strong>City Kitchen<\/strong> in Chapel Hill for the last four years. Hours will be limited initially before beginning normal hours next Tuesday. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tandemcarrboro.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check the website<\/a><\/span><\/strong> for hours, menu, and more information.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>During a recent stroll down Chapel Hill\u2019s Franklin Street, I noticed that a new pizza joint (imagine that) called <strong>Benny Cappella\u2019s<\/strong> has opened at 122 E. Franklin Street. Their tagline is Home of the Virginia Slice&#8230;not sure what that means. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bennysva.com\/BennyCappellas\" target=\"_blank\">Check them out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Also in Chapel Hill, East Franklin\u2019s <strong>Eastgate Shopping Center<\/strong> is undergoing some changes and upgrades (including a name change to <strong>Eastgate Crossing<\/strong>). Related to food, that means the former <strong>Boston Market<\/strong> will become a <strong>Zoe\u2019s Kitchen<\/strong> by early 2017. Additionally, a modification to the former BP Station will mean new tenants, possibly another eating establishment (plans show an outdoor seating area). We will keep an eye on it. Got word this week from <strong>Jennifer Elkin<\/strong> that <strong>Treforni\u2019s<\/strong> hopes to open in the next week or so. As soon as we have a set date, we will let you know. Anyway, the bistro features a buffet that offers Mediterranean, authentic Filipino and Asian cuisines. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/mediterrasianbistro.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check them out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div><strong>WRAL<\/strong> reported that as of April 30, <strong>Bull City Ciderworks<\/strong> will close it\u2019s Elizabeth Street location (due to the new Durham Police Headquarters project). But the good news is that they will be moving to their new location at the corner of Dillard and Roxboro streets with plans to open late summer\/early fall. Main Street in Durham. In fact, he has committed to opening 3-5 stores in the next 5 years, with the first in the Triangle to open this November. We will keep an eye on it.
