On <strong>April 27th<\/strong> at 6 p.m. at <strong>HQ Raleigh<\/strong> they will hold a <strong>Launch Party<\/strong> to provide more details, including where their restaurant will be located. <strong>Freeze<\/strong> has partnered with <strong>Vicky Ismail<\/strong> (who many will remember from <strong>The Cary Cafe<\/strong> and now <strong>Highgrove Estate<\/strong>) to open a nonprofit restaurant with a vision to end homelessness for women in Raleigh. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/carrollskitchen.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">Learn more about Carroll&#8217;s Kitchen here<\/a><\/span><\/strong> and get <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/carrolls-kitchen-launch-party-tickets-21850806350\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">tickets to the launch party here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Wake County Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Back in February, the <strong>Shucker&#8217;s<\/strong> location at <strong>510 Glenwood Avenue<\/strong> in downtown Raleigh closed to begin its transition into an event and catering space. I went to an open house this week where they unveiled the new space and all it has to offer. I will say it was quite impressive. If you are looking for an off-site space for a meeting, baby shower, reception or whatever, you&#8217;ll want to check this out. <strong>Shucker&#8217;s<\/strong> continues to operate a restaurant up in Wake Forest. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ShuckersCateringEvents\/?fref=ts\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">Check them out on Facebook here<\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Over in Cary, the popular <strong>On The Border Mexican Grill and Cantina<\/strong> re-opened after a fire closed it for 5 months. I had a chance to go last week, and the unanticipated $1M renovation project features a more open dining room, a brand new kitchen, new menu and a new outdoor patio area. This past Wednesday saw a long line of patrons waiting to get back in. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/home.ontheborder.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">Check them out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>A slight correction on the opening of <strong>Pieology<\/strong> on Raleigh&#8217;s Hillsborough Street. The &#8220;official&#8221; open date will be <strong>Monday, April 25h<\/strong>. Initial reports indicate a Chinese restaurant will open in that space.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Food Trucks<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Cary&#8217;s first <strong>Chatham Street Chowdown<\/strong> of the year will be held <strong>THIS Sunday, April 17<\/strong>, from noon to 4:30 p.m. in downtown Cary and will feature 19 trucks along with a wine and beer garden and lots of entertainment. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.townofcary.org\/Departments\/Parks__Recreation___Cultural_Resources\/events\/special\/Chatham_Street_Chowdown.htm\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">Get all the details here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>TABLE<\/strong> will hold its <strong>4th Annual Food Truck Rodeo<\/strong> on <strong>April 30 from 3-7 p.m.<\/strong> at Chapel Hill&#8217;s <strong>Orange United Methodist Church<\/strong> on MLK Blvd. The event is to benefit one of <strong>TABLE&#8217;s<\/strong> program, called the <strong>Weekend Backpack Program<\/strong>, a year-round hunger relief program that provides food to hungry kids when school is not in session. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tablenc.org\/4th-annual-table-food-truck-rodeo\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">Get all the details on the trucks, kids events, entertainment, etc. here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>With the warm weather returning, it also means the return of the <strong>Food Truck Thursdays in Knightdale<\/strong>. Just look for it from 11am to 2pm and 5pm to 8pm near the amphitheater (rain or shine &#8211; shelters are covered). Each restaurant\/chef has added a plant-based (vegan) entr\u00e9e to their menu &#8211; with an optional appetizer or dessert.
