If the name sounds familiar, you\u2019ve likely spotted their treats at <strong>Whole Foods<\/strong>, <strong>Neomonde<\/strong>, and recently <strong>Beasley\u2019s Chicken + Honey<\/strong>, just to name a few. Expect decadent cakes, cupcakes, brownies, cinnamon rolls, cookies, and whoopie pies to savory favorites like fresh breads, Hawaiian rolls, challah, biscuits, pot pies, pastas, pizza and so much more. Your chicken can be prepared with seven different heat levels. How hot?  The hottest, Reaper, comes with its own waiver\u00a0because it\u2019s just that spicy. Bring it! They also have locations in Wake Forest and Holly Springs. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/daveshotchicken.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Visit them here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In downtown Raleigh, <strong>Raleigh Magazine<\/strong> informed us this week that the long-empty former <strong>Royale<\/strong> space in <strong>City Market<\/strong> will soon be home to <strong>Kokoro Ramen &amp; Izakaya<\/strong> from the folks behind Pinehurst\/Southern Pines\u2019 beloved\u00a0<strong>Neko Thai &amp; Sushi.<\/strong> <strong>Kokoro<\/strong> will bring izakaya vibes and ramen bowls to the east end of downtown. Look for them to open next Spring. Not much up on the web at this point, best to check in with <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/nekothaisushi.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">their sister concept here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Staying in downtown, the <strong>Triangle Business Journal <\/strong>revealed this week that the Omni Hotel planned for Downtown Raleigh will include <strong>Bob\u2019s Steak &amp; Chop House<\/strong>, a fixture at a number of Omni hotels across the country. Founded in Dallas in 1993, they now have multiple locations in Texas, as well as locations in Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Arizona. Look for them to open in 2028. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bobs-steakandchop.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Go ahead and start getting familiar with them here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>One more exciting update in downtown Raleigh. We first told you about this in August, 2024 &#8211; but <strong>Raleigh Magazine<\/strong> shared a few more details this week about <strong>Jubala&#8217;s<\/strong> fourth location which will open soon in the Pendo building at 301 Hillsborough Street. The owners announced that they will be opening a cocktail bar dubbed <strong>Bar Marigold<\/strong> inside this location. The bar\u00a0program, led by longtime bev director <strong>Kylen Hamlin<\/strong>, will feature both classic and new cocktails, coffee-infused drinks (including espresso martinis, natch), and mocktails\u2014plus evening food and desserts according to the magazine. Until we have an open date, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jubalacoffee.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">visit Jubala here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Just outside of downtown Raleigh in the <strong>Iron Works<\/strong> development, <strong>Raleigh Magazine<\/strong> shared a high-profile collaboration currently unfolding. Renowned chef, TV host, author and restaurateur <strong>Vivian Howard<\/strong>\u00a0will be providing the food for\u00a0<strong>Anthony Guerra&#8217;s<\/strong> (owner of beloved <strong>Oakwood Pizza Box<\/strong> and <strong>Capital Pizza Box<\/strong>) soon-to-open <strong>St. Pierre Wine Shop + Bar.<\/strong> <strong>Howard<\/strong> and her team will deliver the food, then train them on how to plate it. Stay tuned for the menu and <strong>St. Pierre&#8217;s<\/strong> official opening date. She also hinted that this is a way to &#8220;tip her toe&#8221; into the Triangle market&#8230;are you thinking that means what I hope it means?!? <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Over in Cary, Triangle Business Journal reported that the former\u00a0<strong>Red Lobster<\/strong>\u00a0in Cary will undergo a renovation as it transitions to <strong>Umi Sushi<\/strong>. The building is at 1801 Walnut Street next to <strong>Olive Garden<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Chick-fil-A<\/strong>\u00a0near the busy <strong>Crossroads Plaza<\/strong> shopping center. This joins a &#8220;trend&#8221; of older concepts giving way to newer concepts &#8211; <strong>La Buena Vida<\/strong> took over the former <strong>Red Lobster<\/strong> in Durham; <strong>Tacos Number Juan<\/strong>\u00a0moving into a former <strong>Wendy\u2019s<\/strong>; <strong>Mezcalito<\/strong> moving into the former <strong>On the Border<\/strong> also in Cary; and <strong>Azami Ramen &amp; Sushi<\/strong> going into the former <strong>PDQ<\/strong> in Cary. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Down in Fuquay-Varina, the <strong>Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce<\/strong> shared the news that <strong>Nil\u2019s Mediterranean Cuisine<\/strong> opened their second location this week in downtown Angier at 16 North Broad Street East. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/nilsmc.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Visit Nil&#8217;s here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Also in Fuquay-Varina, <strong>Brus on Main<\/strong> is officially rebranding to <strong>Truman\u2019s Smokehouse &amp; Kitchen<\/strong>. If you were\/are a huge fan of <strong>Brus<\/strong>, don\u2019t worry\u2014their same amazing food and drinks you know and love aren\u2019t going anywhere. Despite a litany of delays and\u00a0missed target dates, the 410 West Franklin Street business, which has been serving the Chapel Hill community for over 30 years, will reopen for dinner hours starting on <strong>Tuesday, September 9th<\/strong>. In anticipation of next week, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mediterraneandeli.com\/chapel-hill\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">visit Med Deli here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I&#8217;m trying to remember what I was doing as a senior in college, but it certainly wasn&#8217;t as exciting nor as adventurous as UNC basketball stud <strong>Seth Trimble<\/strong>. The senior announced this week that he has purchased the Chapel Hill location of <strong>Ben &amp; Jerry&#8217;s<\/strong> located at 102 West Franklin Street right in the heart of downtown Chapel Hill. Saturday, September 6th festivities include a free gelato with any 16&#8243; pizza purchase and they will donate 10% of that day&#8217;s sales to the Carrboro Elementary School PTA. On Sunday, September 7th they will introduce their new <strong>Sunday Supper<\/strong> special featuring family-style pasta and salad while airing the Italian Grand Prix.
