It was announced this week that Raleigh&#8217;s newest non-profit restaurant, <strong>Carroll&#8217;s Kitchen<\/strong>, will take over the former <strong>Square Rabbit<\/strong> space in downtown Raleigh at some point this summer. <strong>Carroll&#8217;s Kitchen<\/strong> is a 501c3 restaurant dedicated to ending homelessness for women in Raleigh. They held a launch party this past week with over 250 people in attendance. Check out their new website and get all the details on this exciting, and meaningful venture <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.carrollskitchen.org\/#welcome2\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Also in downtown Raleigh, <strong>G. Patel&#8217;s Eschelon Experiences<\/strong> restaurant group announced that the former <strong>Zinda<\/strong> location will become <strong>Bare Bones<\/strong>, a new ribs, burger and beer restaurant on Raleigh&#8217;s Fayetteville Street. They hope to be open by this summer. According to the <strong>News &amp; Observer<\/strong>, <strong>Bare Bones<\/strong> chef will be <strong>Taion McElveen<\/strong>, who previously worked at <strong>Cameron Bar &amp; Grill<\/strong> and <strong>The Oxford<\/strong>. His menu will feature smoked pork, beef ribs, brisket and house-ground burgers. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.eschelonexperiences.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">Learn more here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Over in downtown Raleigh, saw on <strong>Ashton Mae Smith&#8217;s<\/strong> weekly blog (which you <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/tinyletter.com\/raleighovereasy\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">should subscribe to by the way<\/a><\/span><\/strong>) that <strong>Sushi O<\/strong> owner&#8217;s are replacing their short-lived <strong>International Burger and Breakfast Restaurant<\/strong> concept with an authentic Szechuan \/ Chinese restaurant and bar called <strong>China O Bistro and Bar<\/strong>. No information on a website or Facebook page yet.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Up in Wake Forest, the <strong>Triangle Business Journal<\/strong> reported last week that <strong>Buku<\/strong> owner <strong>Sean Degnan<\/strong> has confirmed that he and business partner <strong>Tony Hopkins<\/strong> will be opening a second, smaller, location on Rogers Road near the <strong>Heritage<\/strong> development in Wake Forest. The goal for opening is set for Fall 2016. In the meantime, <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bukuraleigh.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\">check them out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Over in Cary, <strong>Hickory Tavern<\/strong> opened its second Triangle location this past Wednesday \u00a0in the new <strong>Parkside Town Commons Center.<\/strong> The original Triangle-area location is in downtown Carrboro. Look for them to open this location in August or September. Keep eating local, folks!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Food Trucks<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div><strong>TABLE<\/strong> will hold its <strong>4th Annual Food Truck Rodeo<\/strong> tomorrow (<strong>April 30<\/strong>) from 3-7 p.m. at Chapel Hill&#8217;s <strong>Orange United Methodist Church<\/strong> on MLK Blvd. The event is to benefit one of <strong>TABLE&#8217;s<\/strong> program, called the <strong>Weekend Backpack Program<\/strong>, a year-round hunger relief program that provides food to hungry kids when school is not in session. There will be a total of 54 trucks, with nine of those being new to the event! The site now has the complete food truck list as well as site map. Just look for it from 11am to 2pm and 5pm to 8pm near the amphitheater (rain or shine &#8211; shelters are covered).
