Just yesterday <strong>Oak &amp; Dagger\u2019s Research Library<\/strong> (i.e. bottle shop) opened where <strong>Tyler\u2019s<\/strong> bottle shop used to be in downtown Raleigh\u2019s <strong>Seaboard Station<\/strong>. Progress continues toward the rest of the project &#8211; <strong>Oak &amp; Dagger Public House<\/strong>. Stay tuned. In the meantime, <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/oakanddagger\/\" target=\"_blank\">check them out on Facebook here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Wake County Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Over at <strong>North Hills<\/strong> we got word this week that <strong>Sam\u2019s Pizza and Salads<\/strong> had closed suddenly last weekend. That was quickly followed by the news in the <strong>Triangle Business Journal<\/strong> that <strong>Pieology Pizzeria<\/strong>, which just opened on Hillsborough Street, would open their second Raleigh location in that space. Renovation has begun, targeting a July opening. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/pieology.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check out Pieology here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>I get a lot of questions from readers. Probably one of the more frequent questions is regarding the restaurant space located directly behind <strong>Crabtree Valley Mall<\/strong> (former <strong>Crabtree Tavern, Tavola<\/strong>&#8230; among others). Back in December we told readers it would become the newest location of <strong>San Marcos Mexican Restaurant<\/strong> out of Danville, VA. Got word this week that they are about three weeks out from opening! If you haven\u2019t been by recently, it looks amazing! Let\u2019s hope the food is as good as the decor! <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/San-Marcos-Mexican-RestaurantRaleighnc-1410437505946037\/?fref=nf\" target=\"_blank\">Check them out on Facebook here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Got word from reader <strong>Steven Moore<\/strong> that <strong>Ledo\u2019s Pizza<\/strong> in Cary has opened. They are located at 982 High House Road in the Lowe\u2019s Shopping Center. This looks like the first North Carolina location (unless you count Rock Hill, SC as part of NC). <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Ledo-Pizza-907983079238262\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check them out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Cary\u2019s location of <strong>Sassool<\/strong> will hold its grand opening celebration on Mother\u2019s Day, <strong>May 8th<\/strong> from 1-4 p.m. <strong>Sassool\u2019s<\/strong> second location, which opened in December, is located at 1347 Kildaire Farm Road in the <strong>Shoppes of Kildaire<\/strong> (Trader Joe\u2019s). <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sassool.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Get all the details on their website here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Also in Cary, got an update on a<strong> Yelp<\/strong> message board that the <strong>Noodle Boulevard<\/strong> has opened at 919 N. Harrison Avenue. They took the place of the short-lived <strong>Maui Wowi Hawaiian Coffees and Smoothies<\/strong>, and <strong>Java Jive<\/strong> before that. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.noodleblvd.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check them out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Up in Wake Forest, got a note from a reader that there is some activity 1248 S. Main Street in the former <strong>Fig Wine Bar<\/strong> location for <strong>Italian Trattoria by Bruno<\/strong>, which we assume is associated with <strong>Bruno\u2019s<\/strong> in Wakefield. Stay tuned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Durham, Orange &amp; Chatham Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Saw in the <strong>Herald Sun<\/strong> that the latest edition of <strong>City Barbecue<\/strong> will open tomorrow, <strong>May 7th<\/strong>, at their location in Durham at <strong>Southpoint Crossing<\/strong> between McDonald\u2019s and Ruby Tuesday. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.citybbq.com\/location\/durham\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check them out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>May 24th<\/strong> is the date that <strong>Giorgios Bakatsias<\/strong> has pegged for the opening of his newest venture &#8211; <strong>Boheme<\/strong> according to the <strong>Triangle Business Journal<\/strong>. <strong>Boheme<\/strong> will open in the <strong>Straw Valley<\/strong> space near the intersection of Interstate 40 and 15-501 at the Durham \/ Chapel Hill border. Main Street in downtown Durham. They still haven\u2019t announced their soft opening &#8211; but it should be any day now. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/BeyuCaffe\" target=\"_blank\">Keep up with the latest on their Facebook page here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Closings<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>As noted above, <strong>Sam\u2019s Pizza &amp; Salads<\/strong> in <strong>North Hills<\/strong> has closed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Food Trucks<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>RDU Mobile Food Association (RDUMFA)<\/strong> food truck members will be at <strong>The Salvation Army of Wake County\u2019s Judy D. Zelnak Center of Hope<\/strong> location (1863 Capital Boulevard in Raleigh) on <strong>Monday, May 9th<\/strong> from <strong>5 to 7 pm.<\/strong> The event will be a dinner food truck rodeo, where a percentage of sales and tips earned will be donated to Salvation Army program, <strong>Project CATCH<\/strong> (<strong>Community Action Targeting Children who are Homeless<\/strong>). Attendees are also encouraged to bring a canned good to donate. The food trucks that will be here are <strong>Baozi, Chick-N-Que, Cocoa Forte, Gussy\u2019s, Philly\u2019s, Sweet Traditions <\/strong>and<strong> Will &amp; Pop\u2019s<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>With the warm weather returning, it also means the return of the <strong>Food Truck Thursdays<\/strong> in Knightdale. Every Thursday from April through June, the town will host a new truck at <strong>Knightdale Station Park<\/strong> for lunch and dinner. Just look for it from 11am to 2pm and 5pm to 8pm near the amphitheater (rain or shine &#8211; shelters are covered). Wine Shop<\/strong> and <strong>458 West B&amp;B<\/strong> are hosting Pittsboro\u2019s first ever <strong>Wine Festival<\/strong> on <strong>May 21<\/strong>. The event will happen rain or shine from 1-4 p.m. at the bed and breakfast\u2019s front lawn and porch. Tickets cost $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Only 100 tickets will be sold for the event. Attendees will get to taste wine from seven vendors, savor appetizers and cheese from <strong>Goat Lady Dairy<\/strong> and enjoy door prizes and live music. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/pittsboro-wine-fest-2016-tickets-24036726496\" target=\"_blank\">Tickets can be purchased online here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Piedmont Dinner Series<\/strong> continues on <strong>May 25th<\/strong> as <strong>Piedmont\u2019s Greg Gettles<\/strong> and <strong>The Boot\u2019s John May<\/strong> will host a late spring bbq in partnership with <strong>Locals Seafood<\/strong>. It is the <strong>2016 Doughman<\/strong> event being held in Durham on <strong>May 28<\/strong>. What is it? It is a \u201cfoodie\u201d event that combines the elements of a triathlon with competitive eating. 4-member teams basically down a delicious treat from a Durham establishment which is then followed by a bike, run or &#8220;water activity&#8221; challenge of varying distances. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.doughman.org\/#race\" target=\"_blank\">Sign up and get all the details here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Andrea Weigl<\/strong> at the <strong>News &amp; Observer<\/strong> noted on her Twitter account recently that tickets to one of my favorite annual events, <strong>Farm to Fork<\/strong> have gone on sale. The event this year will be held on the weekend of <strong>June 3rd through June 5th<\/strong>. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.farmtoforknc.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Get all the details and tickets here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Arguably the area\u2019s biggest \u201cfoodie\u201d event, <strong>TerraVita<\/strong>, recently announced the dates for this year\u2019s festival &#8211; <strong>September 28th through October 1st<\/strong>.
