That is true if you visit <strong>Dame\u2019s Chicken &amp; Waffles<\/strong> in downtown Durham, or if you are a resident of Wake County and have jealously watched Durham-ites enjoy the goodness of <strong>Dame\u2019s<\/strong>. Well, Wake County\u2019s wait is over as my friend <strong>Ursula Littlejohn<\/strong> informed me this week that <strong>Dame\u2019s<\/strong> has plans to open a Wake County location in Cary on Harrison Avenue in the former <strong>Firewurst<\/strong> location next to Bass Pro Shop. Look for an early August opening. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dameschickenwaffles.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check them out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Wake County Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>The latest edition of <strong>Rise Biscuits &amp; Donuts<\/strong> opened this past Saturday in the <strong>Brier Creek Shopping Center<\/strong> across from <strong>Caribou Coffee<\/strong> where <strong>Elevation Burger<\/strong> used to be. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/risebiscuitsdonuts.com\/locations\/raleigh-brier-creek\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check them out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>In downtown Raleigh, chef <strong>Susan Tower<\/strong> of <strong>Deli-icious Food Truck<\/strong> is doing a pop-up menu at <strong>Hadley\u2019s Martini Bar<\/strong> June 9-11 from 5 p.m. until midnight each day. <strong>Hadley\u2019s<\/strong> is located at 317 W. Morgan Street. I haven\u2019t had a chance to go by and try it out, but it looks fantastic. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.raleighfoodandwine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Cafe-Helios-Dinner-Menu.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">You can view the entire menu here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>. <strong>Cafe Helios<\/strong> is located at 413 Glenwood Avenue.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Got word from brothers <strong>Patrick<\/strong> and <strong>Ryan Malley<\/strong> that they are bringing their <strong>Wings Over Chapel Hill<\/strong> and <strong>Wings Over Greenville<\/strong> concept to Raleigh in the form of, you guessed it, <strong>Wings Over Raleigh<\/strong>. The are looking to open this location on July 7th at 2900 Hillsborough Street. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Wings-Over-Raleigh-1442341226014785\/?fref=ts\" target=\"_blank\">Get a sneak peek at them here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>The second Triangle-area location of <strong>Burger 21<\/strong> opens this coming Monday, June 13th, at 6196 Falls of the Neuse Road. Main Street.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Over in Cary, the long-awaited replacement for <strong>Mimi\u2019s Cafe<\/strong> near <strong>Cary Towne Center<\/strong> has an opening date.<strong> La Madeleine<\/strong>, the acclaimed French-inspired bakery caf\u00e9, will swing open their doors on <strong>July 12th<\/strong>. Pay attention. <strong>Chef Greg Gettles<\/strong> is leaving Durham\u2019s <strong>Piedmont Restaurant<\/strong> and moving to Charleston, SC. His last day in the restaurant will be this Sunday, June 12th. That led to the announcement that <strong>The Boot\u2019s John May<\/strong> will move over to take the helm at <strong>Piedmont<\/strong> beginning on August 1. With that announcement, came the announcement that <strong>Rob Kinneen<\/strong>, <strong>May\u2019s<\/strong> right-hand man at <strong>The Boot<\/strong>, will move into the lead role there. Since his move from Alaska, <strong>Kinneen<\/strong> has spent time at <strong>Magnolia Grill, Pop\u2019s <\/strong>and<strong> Elaine\u2019s on Franklin<\/strong>. He even has his own website &#8211; <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.robkinneen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">meet him here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>. The two joints, located right next to each other on W. Chapel Hill Street, are the creation of <strong>Mateo<\/strong> owners <strong>Matt Kelly<\/strong> and <strong>Josh DeCarolis<\/strong> along with <strong>Drew Brown<\/strong>. Any day now!!<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>The <strong>Triangle Business Journal<\/strong> reported this week that one of the first franchise owners of <strong>Built<\/strong>, a new burger spinoff of California-based <strong>The Counter Custom Built Burgers<\/strong>, has signed a lease to open the company\u2019s first North Carolina location at <strong>The Streets at Southpoint<\/strong> mall in south Durham. Look for them to open in early 2017 in the food court. The local owners have the rights to open 5 additional Triangle area locations. In the meantime, <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thecounterburger.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">check them out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Closings<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>After 16 years of phenomenal service, owners <strong>Shane Ingram<\/strong> and <strong>Elizabeth Woodhouse<\/strong> announced this week that <strong>Four Square Restaurant<\/strong> in Durham will close June 25. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.foursquarerestaurant.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Make your reservations now<\/a><\/span><\/strong> (if you can).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Got word from <strong>Jimmy Chhay<\/strong> that his restaurant, <strong>Chais Noodle Bar and Bistro<\/strong> in Durham, will close at the end of this month. However, see the news below about his food truck.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Food Trucks<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>As noted above, <strong>Jimmy Chhay<\/strong> is closing his brick and mortar establishment at the end of this month. That is the bad news. The good news is that you can still get his food through his recently purchased food truck <strong>Buddhalicious<\/strong> (how can you not <strong>LOVE<\/strong> that name!). <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.buddhaliciousfoodtruck.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check him out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>The <strong>Downtown Raleigh Food Truck Rodeo<\/strong> is this<strong> Sunday, June 12th<\/strong>, from 1 to 6 p.m. Over 50 local food trucks will line Fayetteville Street, so make sure you get there early. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.downtownraleighfoodtruckrodeo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">You can view the complete list of participating trucks here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Every Friday through August 5, Raleigh\u2019s <strong>Triangle Town Center<\/strong> will host food trucks at its new <strong>&#8220;Creekside Wind Down&#8221;<\/strong> event series. Stop by the mall&#8217;s <strong>Creekside Cafe<\/strong> food court entrance from 5:30 &#8211; 8:30 p.m. to grab a bite, listen to live music and enjoy a local brew from <strong>Compass Rose Brewery<\/strong>.
