A huge congratulations to <strong>Gary Bryant<\/strong> and <strong>Adam Rose<\/strong> as this project, which will be a huge boost to the revitalization of Hillsborough Street, has been a long-time coming&#8230;.but it will be well worth the wait. Learn more about the restaurant&#8217;s history, vision, menu and more on <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/hstreetkitchen\/\" target=\"_blank\">their Facebook page here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Wake County Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Triangle Business Journal<\/strong> reported that Raleigh chef and restaurant owner <strong>Jason Smith<\/strong> has confirmed plans to open a second iteration of <strong>Cantina 18<\/strong> &#8211; the contemporary, Tex-Mex-style restaurant he owns at <strong>Cameron Village<\/strong> in Raleigh, with plans to open the new location in Morrisville\u2019s <strong>Park West Village<\/strong> in early 2017. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.18restaurantgroup.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Get familiar with all of Jason&#8217;s concepts here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Triangle Business Journal<\/strong> reported this week that <strong>Jeff Mickel<\/strong> and <strong>Michael Thor<\/strong> are targeting the 2nd week in August to roll up the garage doors at downtown Raleigh\u2019s newest watering hole and restaurant, <strong>Whiskey Kitchen<\/strong>. This place looks so cool. Not much on the website, so keep up with their progress <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/WhiskeyKitchenRaleigh\" target=\"_blank\">on their Facebook page here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NewRaleigh\" target=\"_blank\">New Raleigh<\/a><\/span><\/strong> reported this week that <strong>Brewerks Bakery and Cafe<\/strong> in <strong>Oakwood<\/strong> (formerly <strong>Quality Grocery<\/strong>) plans to open by the end of the month at 701 E. Lane Street. Look for fresh brewed coffee, in-house baked pastries and breads as well as breakfast and lunch dishes. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/brewerks.cafe\/\" target=\"_blank\">Keep up with them here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>WRAL<\/strong> reported that <strong>Chihua Grill<\/strong> will be opening \u201cany day now\u201d in Raleigh\u2019s <strong>Villa Latina Plaza<\/strong> just outside of downtown Raleigh next to <strong>Renaissance Park<\/strong>. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.chihuagrill.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Learn more about Chihua Grill here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Got word a little earlier this month that the newest <strong>Five Guys<\/strong> is now open on Capital Boulevard (5501 Capital Blvd. to be exact) in Raleigh. This looks like the 11th Triangle area location, with another in the works for 64 West in Apex. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.fiveguys.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check out Five Guys here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Also on Capital Boulevard, <strong>WRAL<\/strong> reported this week that <strong>McAlister\u2019s Deli<\/strong> will open their second Raleigh location at the <strong>Shoppes on Capital<\/strong> (in the same shopping center as <strong>Five Guys<\/strong>) on Monday, <strong>July 25th<\/strong>. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mcalistersdeli.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check out McAlister&#8217;s here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Over in Cary, got word this week that <strong>Giardino Gourmet Salads<\/strong>, a new concept out of Florida, will be coming to the Bass Pro shopping center on Harrison Avenue next to the former <strong>Firewurst<\/strong> spot (where <strong>Dame\u2019s Chicken and Waffles<\/strong> is going). <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.giardinosalads.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Get familiar with Giardino&#8217;s here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Got a tip from <strong>David McCreary<\/strong> (aka <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lunchboysays.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Lunch Boy Says<\/a><\/span><\/strong>) that <strong>Blaze Pizza<\/strong> is coming to Holly Springs and will be located at <strong>Holly Springs Towne Center. Blaze<\/strong> also has another location heading to Durham. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.blazepizza.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check out Blaze here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Durham, Orange &amp; Chatham Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>News &amp; Observer<\/strong> reported this past week that chef <strong>Matt Kelly<\/strong>, who is building a restaurant empire in downtown Durham, has signed a lease for the former <strong>Fishmonger\u2019s<\/strong> restaurant. <strong>Kelly<\/strong>, who owns <strong>Mateo, Mothers &amp; Sons <\/strong>and<strong> Lucky\u2019s Deli<\/strong> and is still a partner in <strong>Vin Rouge<\/strong>, hopes to open the new seafood restaurant by Christmas. We will keep an eye on it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And speaking of fish, the <strong>Durham Convention and Visitor\u2019s Bureau<\/strong> announced this week that Durham\u2019s popular Ninth Street area will soon be home to <strong>Zen Fish<\/strong>, a new Pok\u00e9 style restaurant slated to debut this fall. So what is pok\u00e9? It is a Hawaiian dish with marinated raw fish and a variety of toppings, including a greens, rice, edamame and scallions. The new venue will be located in the <strong>Solis Ninth Street<\/strong> mixed-use community.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Last edition we told you that <strong>Urban Food Group\u2019s<\/strong> Durham venture, <strong>Lucia<\/strong>, was closed for \u201cbig changes.\u201d Well, they weren\u2019t kidding. They have completely converted <strong>Lucia<\/strong> in Durham\u2019s <strong>West Village<\/strong> to a new concept called <strong>Motto<\/strong>, which will be run by chef <strong>James Huff<\/strong> and manager <strong>Brandon Carr<\/strong> and will serve New American cuisine. They are also bringing over a lot of the staff from the recently closed <strong>Four Square<\/strong>. Expect <strong>Motto<\/strong> to open later this month. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.urbanfoodgroup.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check out Urban Food Group here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And finally over in Durham, we got word this week that a location of <strong>Built Custom Burgers<\/strong> is on the way to the food court at the <strong>Streets at Southpoint<\/strong> mall. If you aren\u2019t familiar with Built, <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.builtcustomburgers.com\/#ninzio-slider\" target=\"_blank\">check them out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Over in Chapel Hill, got word that there are two additional restaurants coming to <strong>Eastgate Crossing<\/strong> as part of their renovations (<strong>Zoe\u2019s<\/strong> has already been announced). Joining them will be <strong>Babalu Tacos &amp; Tapas<\/strong> (serving up chef-inspired gourmet tacos and Spanish-style tapas with a Southern twist) and <strong>Chopt<\/strong> (self-described as salad specialists, looking for ways to push the boundaries of what a salad can be). Both are targeting a spring 2017 opening.
