Impress your co-workers at the water cooler.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Featured Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>We got the news last week about an hour after we \u201cwent to press\u201d that Cary\u2019s <strong>La Farm Bakery<\/strong> is expanding their operations with plans to open a new production bakery in downtown Cary in the <strong>Sorrell Building<\/strong> at 220 West Chatham Street. The timeline only indicates \u201cthis holiday season,\u201d but they also announced that after opening, they will turn their attention to opening a retail bakery and cafe adjacent to the new production bakery. No changes are planned for their current location. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.lafarmbakery.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Get all the details here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Wake County Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Two highly anticipated additions to Raleigh\u2019s Hillsborough Street will come \u201con-line\u201d over the next few days. The first happens tonight, <strong>Friday, July 29th<\/strong>, as <strong>Dram &amp; Draught<\/strong> will open its doors to the public beginning at 5 p.m. As part of their opening celebration, look for food trucks on both Friday and Saturday nights. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/dramanddraught.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Get more information on Dram &amp; Draught here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And it looks like <strong>August 2nd<\/strong> (next Tuesday) is still the target open date for <strong>H Street Kitchen<\/strong> in the former <strong>Varsity Theater<\/strong> also on Raleigh\u2019s Hillsborough Street. A huge congratulations to <strong>Gary Bryant<\/strong> and <strong>Adam Rose<\/strong> as this project, which will be a huge boost to the revitalization of Hillsborough Street, has been a long-time coming&#8230;.but it will be well worth the wait. Look for the official announcement and learn more about the restaurant&#8217;s history, vision, menu and more <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/hstreetkitchen\/\" target=\"_blank\">on their Facebook page here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>News &amp; Observer<\/strong> reported this week that <strong>Cafe Lucarne<\/strong>, a new restaurant in the former <strong>Benelux<\/strong> spot in Raleigh\u2019s <strong>City Market<\/strong>, opened this past Tuesday. The casual, counter-service restaurant is the work of <strong>Andrew Shepherd<\/strong> and <strong>Will Jeffers<\/strong>, two of the partners in Raleigh\u2019s popular <strong>Stanbury restaurant<\/strong>. <strong>Cafe Lucarne<\/strong> will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and will be open 7:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/cafelucarne\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check them out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>In related news, it was also reported by the <strong>News &amp; Observer<\/strong> that <strong>Shepherd<\/strong> and <strong>Jeffers<\/strong> are taking over the former <strong>Battistella\u2019s<\/strong> space off <strong>Moore Square<\/strong> and hope to open that restaurant later this year. We will keep an eye on that.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Triangle Business Journal<\/strong> reported this week that<strong> Jeff Mickel<\/strong> and <strong>Michael Thor<\/strong> are targeting the 2nd week in August to roll up the garage door at downtown Raleigh\u2019s newest watering hole and restaurant, <strong>Whiskey Kitchen<\/strong>. This place looks so cool. Not much on the website, so keep up with their progress <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/WhiskeyKitchenRaleigh\" target=\"_blank\">on their Facebook page here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>WRAL<\/strong> reported last week that <strong>El Taco Cartel<\/strong>, Raleigh&#8217;s first taco delivery bike, hit the streets for the first time last Sunday. The bike will be serving up authentic street tacos. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Taco_Cartel\" target=\"_blank\">You can follow them on Twitter here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Got word this week that Raleigh\u2019s <strong>North Hills<\/strong> will be home to the newest location of a fast-casual, health food concept called <strong>Grabbagreen<\/strong>. The Arizona-based concept will be located near the Sur La Table store in the Lassiter District and is aiming for a September opening. They also have plans to open a Cary location, but no word yet on an exact location. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/grabbagreen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Get to know Grabbagreen here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Durham, Orange &amp; Chatham Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>News &amp; Observer<\/strong> reported that chefs <strong>James Clark<\/strong> and <strong>Bill Hartley<\/strong> have left <strong>The Carolina Inn<\/strong> in Chapel Hill to open <strong>Postal Fish Company<\/strong> restaurant in Pittsboro (you guessed it, in the old post office building). Look for them to open in late 2017. They are participating in a Kickstarter campaign to fund this endeavor, and they have already exceeded their $7k goal! <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/projects\/735798926\/postal-fish-company-3d-renderings-and-webdesign\" target=\"_blank\">Check it out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>A quick update on the opening of the second location of <strong>The Bagel Bar<\/strong> in Durham. Got word this week on Facebook that <strong>Jonathan Collins<\/strong> and <strong>Karra Pate<\/strong> are very close to opening their second location (they are now hiring) at 104 City Hall Plaza in downtown Durham. The original location is in Chapel Hill on Weaver Dairy Road. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bagelbarbagels.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check them out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And we got word from <strong>Charlie Farris<\/strong> and <strong>Clint Winslow<\/strong> that they have set a date of <strong>Wednesday, August 17<\/strong> for the opening of their third <strong>Jersey Mike\u2019s<\/strong> &#8211; this one near the intersection of Hwy. 54 and Interstate 40 in the Falconbridge shopping center just down from Mardi Gras bowling. Congrats to <strong>Charlie<\/strong> &amp; <strong>Clint<\/strong>. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jerseymikes.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check out Jersey Mike&#8217;s here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>News &amp; Observer<\/strong> reported this week that <strong>Ali Rudel<\/strong>, owner of the popular <strong>East Durham Pie Company<\/strong>, launched a Kickstarter campaign last week to raise funds towards opening a brick and mortar store in the Old East Durham neighborhood. Currently the Kickstarter campaign has nearly 200 backers and is \u00be of the way to their goal, and there are still 17 days left to help them reach their goal. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/projects\/454773711\/a-neighborhood-cafe-for-east-durham-pie-co?ref=nav_search\" target=\"_blank\">Check it out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>A quick reminder that next <strong>Monday, August 1<\/strong>, chef <strong>John May<\/strong> (formerly with <strong>Chef &amp; The Farmer<\/strong> and <strong>The Boot<\/strong>) takes over the reigns at downtown Durham\u2019s <strong>Piedmont<\/strong>. He will introduce \u201ca new ingredient-driven tasting menu\u201d beginning August 10th. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.piedmontrestaurant.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check out Piedmont here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And down in Smithfield, <strong>WRAL<\/strong> reported that there will be a new restaurant opening called <strong>SoDoSoPa<\/strong>. The owner is <strong>Mike O&#8217;Dowd<\/strong>, who has been the general manager for <strong>Outback<\/strong> in Smithfield and <strong>Logan&#8217;s<\/strong> in Garner. Look for them to open in mid-August.
