I know my buddy <strong>Gordon Brown<\/strong> is excited to see that <strong>Parkside Restaurant<\/strong> is now open adjacent to Nash Square at 301 W. Martin Street. Executive chef <strong>Matt Scofield<\/strong>, formerly of <strong>Sitti<\/strong> and <strong>Neomonde<\/strong>, has crafted an ode to comfort food with some twists, according to <strong>WRAL<\/strong>. Congrats to <strong>Scofield<\/strong> and <strong>Todd Henderson<\/strong>. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/parksideraleigh.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check them out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And on the other corner of Nash Square, the <strong>News &amp; Observer<\/strong> reported this week that <strong>August 8<\/strong> is the date the garage doors will be rolled up at downtown Raleigh\u2019s newest watering hole and restaurant, <strong>Whiskey Kitchen<\/strong>. It is described as a chef\u2019s barroom serving Southern food, as well as more than 200 whiskeys, wine and beer. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/WhiskeyKitchenRaleigh\" target=\"_blank\">Keep up with their progress on their Facebook page here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Wake County Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>And if that is not enough downtown Raleigh food news for you, thanks to a tip from <strong>Matthew Andrako<\/strong>, we learned that <strong>Living Kitchen<\/strong> is now open at 555 Fayetteville St., in the <strong>Charter Square<\/strong> building. <strong>Living Kitchen<\/strong> is described as an organic, plant-based, and mostly raw restaurant that first opened in Charlotte, NC. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/livingkitchen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check them out here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>In North Raleigh, got word from <strong>James Borden\u2019s <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/raleighpublicrecord.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Development Beat<\/a><\/span><\/strong> that permits were issued for a new location of the <strong>Metro Diner<\/strong>, once featured on the <strong>Guy Fieri<\/strong> show &#8220;Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.&#8221; The Metro will soon be opening in the Fresh Market-anchored <strong>Sutton Square<\/strong> shopping center on Falls of Neuse Road. The chain has 12 locations in Florida, and a handful more across east coast states. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/metrodiner.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Get more information on Metro here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Over in Cary, <strong>Gonza Tacos Y Tequila<\/strong> announced via their Facebook page that they are opening their 5th location &#8211; this one in Cary\u2019s <strong>Waverly Place<\/strong>. Look for them to open in the Spring of 2017. It will be held in conjunction with the <strong>North Carolina Restaurant &amp; Lodging Expo<\/strong> taking place in Raleigh. The event will feature 12 savory chefs and four pastry chefs from across the state who will compete for the titles <strong>NCRLA Chef and Pastry Chef of the Year<\/strong>.
