With <strong>Lutra<\/strong>, <strong>McLaurin<\/strong> aims to translate that fine dining pedigree to casual, craveable everyday dining. Located on the north side of Durham&#8217;s <strong>American Tobacco Campus<\/strong>, guests can expect a rotating selection of baked goods\u2014including buns, breads, pastries and pretzels\u2014alongside breakfast and lunch favorites. Named in honor of <strong>Carlos Sr.&#8217;s<\/strong> mother and mother-in-law, both named <strong>Lina<\/strong>, the new venture will allow for expanded dessert offerings and innovative creations otherwise not feasible within the limitations of <strong>LaGana&#8217;s<\/strong> kitchen, according to the magazine. The independently owned restaurant has been a Person Street fixture since it opened, and <strong>Standard NHID<\/strong> brings that same hospitality to a new space in <strong>North Hills<\/strong>. The news spot boasts a 150-seat dining room, expansive bar, and large patio featuring a menu that runs from handhelds and salads to oysters and a full raw bar, alongside large plates and weekly specials built around local and seasonal ingredients, led by Executive Chef <strong>Andrea Cardella<\/strong>. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/standardbeerandfood.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Follow along here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The Left Hook Coffee shop<\/strong> is holding their grand opening at its Hargett Street cafe with a\u00a0circus on <strong>Saturday, August 1<\/strong>. Located at 912 E Hargett Street, at the corner of Hargett and State, you&#8217;ll enjoy local vendors\/artists\/makers, live music, local food vendors, live screen printing, \u201ccircus\u201d activities, wrestling, and more. Expect this to be the first one, but certainly not the last. Chatham St. in downtown Cary. They replaced The <strong>Williams House Craft Taproom<\/strong> on June 18. The shop will sell books and serve a variety of cocktails and coffees. The new location will open <strong>Monday, August 3<\/strong> completing a year-long renovation of a historic building dating to the 1910s in downtown Durham&#8217;s National Register historic district. The work preserves a lot of the building&#8217;s history with wood from the original interior walls and repurposed the salvaged beams into a staircase that now connects the main dining room to the upstairs bar. <strong>Little Bull<\/strong> will serve dinner nightly beginning at 5 pm, with weekend brunch continuing on Saturdays and Sundays. The team plans to introduce weekday lunch service this fall, marking the restaurant&#8217;s first lunch offering. The move triples the size of the popular cafe and coffee shop, allowing them to transition to an all-day concept with expanded hours and much needed additional space. The new spot will be just as enjoyable for a morning latte as it will be for an evening martini. That&#8217;s the bad news (although, we think it is pretty cool they will soon have a &#8220;permanent&#8221; home). The other good news is they will soon have a brand-new <strong>Chirba Chirba<\/strong> truck taking over their existing calendar in July! So, if you know of a good spot for them to &#8220;park&#8221; their first truck (no, not your driveway), drop them a line.
