The independently owned restaurant group behind the longtime Person Street spot, opened a second location this week, <strong>Standard NHID<\/strong>, at 560 St Albans Drive in North Hills. A shift from Person Street\u2019s QR-service, no-reservations model, the <strong>North Hills<\/strong> location is full service and reservation-friendly. The menu, developed by <strong>Executive Chef Andrea Cardella<\/strong>, builds on <strong>Standard\u2019s<\/strong> fan favorites while introducing wood-fired cooking and a raw bar. The smash burger carries over from Person Street, alongside new <strong>NHID<\/strong> dishes including the Standard Tavern Burger, Swordfish Schnitzel, and Bar Steak. The kitchen works with local partners including Raleigh City Farms, Joyce Farms, and Fox Farm &amp; Forage. The bar program at <strong>Standard NHID<\/strong> features six slushies on tap (including an Espresso Martini, Strawberry Daiquiri, and Painkiller), along with house and guest beer, a low-intervention wine list, and a craft cocktail menu. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/standardbeerandfood.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Get by today<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\"> <\/mark><\/strong>     <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Wake County Restaurant News<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We first told you about this back in June, but learned this week that <strong>Clouds Brewing<\/strong> has now opened in the former location of\u00a0<strong>Tobacco Road Sports Caf\u00e9\u00a0<\/strong>located at 505 Jones St. They are celebrating their first weekend (Friday and Saturday) and you are invited to join them from 4-10 p.m. both days for great drinks, tasty bites, and good vibes. They are starting with a limited menu as the team perfects the <strong>Clouds<\/strong> way, but everything on offer is crafted to impress. Swing by the main bar, grab a beer, and be among the first to experience <strong>Clouds<\/strong> in their newest location!\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cloudsbrewing.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Visit Clouds here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On a recent drive down Hillsborough Street in Raleigh, I noticed that <strong>Beignets &amp; Brew<\/strong> has opened on the ground floor of the <strong>Stanhope<\/strong> building (3001 Hillsborough Street). They serve hot, fresh-made beignets with various toppings (like strawberry cheesecake and caramel) along with specialty coffees, teas, and breakfast croissants. With locations all over the Eastern United States, this is their first venture into North Carolina. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.beignetsandbrew.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Visit them here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Over on Western Boulevard, buddy <strong>Hugh Autry<\/strong> reached out to me to let me know that we will soon have a new <strong>Pizza Hut<\/strong> location, nestled between <strong>Wendy\u2019s<\/strong> and <strong>Dunkin\u2019<\/strong>. No word yet on an open date. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pizzahut.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Visit Pizza Hut here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>And just a few months after opening their first Triangle-area location in Durham, <strong>Bubbakoo&#8217;s Burritos<\/strong>, a Mexican-fusion concept, opened its newest location in Cary according to <strong>Triangle Business Journal<\/strong>. Located at\u00a0337 Sembler Lane in the\u00a0<strong>Ambery Place Shopping center<\/strong>,\u00a0they serve up  more than 12 varieties, including Papi Hibachi steak and shrimp burrito, the crispy buffalo chicken quesadilla, Nashville hot crispy chicken burrito and the California steakhouse burrito. They have locations across 14 states. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bubbakoos.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Pick your burrito here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Got word this week that the folks behind <strong>Shinmai Shokudo<\/strong> and <strong>Shinmai Kumo<\/strong> in Cary are getting ready to open their third concept, <strong>Shinmai Moku<\/strong>, in the new section of <strong>Quail Corners<\/strong> shopping center later this July (corner of Millbrook and Falls of the Neuse roads). <strong>Moku<\/strong> is an intimate Japanese yakitori and izakaya inspired by the evenings found throughout Japan, where people gather around charcoal grills to share skewers, small plates, and drinks with friends. Self-described as a Massachusetts-inspired dive bar kitchen serving North Shore roast beef, South Shore bar pies, wings, and comfort food from everywhere. Best to get to know them\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/SullysMisfitsKitchen\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">on their Facebook page here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Durham, Orange &amp; Chatham Restaurant News<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Thanks to a tip from <strong>Glenn Gillen<\/strong>, we learned that <strong>Kristine Suh<\/strong> and her partner <strong>Andrew Mehring<\/strong> have officially opened <strong>Dosirak Outpost<\/strong>, a Korean-style convenience store at 307 W Main Street in the heart of downtown Durham. The store is stocked with Korean snacks, shelves of noodles, Asian stationery, beverages, kimchi from local vendor <strong>Spicy Hermit<\/strong>, gochujang, and a variety of other items. Grab-and-go options stocked with kimbap, rice bowls, soups, and other delicious eats are coming soon, just waiting on city permitting. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/dosirakdurham\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Get by and see for yourself<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Also in Durham, the <strong>News &amp; Observer<\/strong> reported that <strong>Ideal\u2019s Sandwich &amp; Groc<\/strong>ery, one of\u00a0the Triangle\u2019s best restaurants, has been open only three hours a day, Thursday thru Monday. It sometimes sells out far earlier than that. That has all changed, as the Durham restaurant\u00a0has doubled its hours and is now open from noon to 6\u00a0p.m. And according to the <strong>N&amp;O<\/strong> reporting, breakfast is on the way. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/idealsdeli.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Visit them here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>At the end of last month over in Durham, <strong>Woody\u2019s Bar-B-Q<\/strong> opened their 10th location and their first in North Carolina at 3500 N Roxboro Street. Founded in Jacksonville, Florida in 1980, they are most well-known for their slow-smoked baby back ribs, pulled pork, and signature burgers. It is moving into the former <strong>Chili&#8217;s<\/strong> location at the <strong>Renaissance Center<\/strong> shopping mall near <strong>The Streets at Southpoint<\/strong> (6917 Fayetteville Rd.). <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/m.longhornsteakhouse.com\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Visit LongHorn here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Just across the county line from Chapel Hill in Chatham County, coffee gem <strong>SaBean&#8217;s Coffee<\/strong> has moved to a new location, just a couple of miles from their former location adjacent to <strong>Captain John&#8217;s Dockside<\/strong>. She is now located along 15-501 at the former gas station on the corner with Andrews Store Road. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/sabeanscoffeeandsmiles\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Please check in on Instagram here<\/mark><\/a><\/strong> before going because at last check <strong>Sabine<\/strong> was still waiting on power to be hooked up. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>, <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Closings<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>David McCreary<\/strong> shared the sad news that <strong>La Grassa Pastificio<\/strong>, an Italian bistro located at 908 Northeast Maynard Road in Cary&#8217;s <strong>Reedy Creek Square<\/strong> shopping center, has closed due to &#8220;overwhelming health issues.&#8221; Chef\/Owner <strong>Robert Reynaud<\/strong> has battled serious kidney disease for many months. Please keep him and the staff affected by the closure in your thoughts and prayers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In Raleigh, reader <strong>Rebekka Mastin<\/strong> saw a sign on the door of <strong>Stromboli&#8217;s Express<\/strong> on Spring Forest Road indicating they had closed after 21+ years. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>My &#8220;everything Durham&#8221; guy <strong>Glenn Gillen<\/strong>, shared with me that <strong>Afters Dessert Bar<\/strong> in <strong>Brightleaf Square<\/strong> is closing at the end of this week. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Also in Durham, we learned that after 10 years, <strong>Durty Bull Brewing Co.<\/strong> will be closing their doors in Durham at the end of September. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>And the <strong>Herald-Sun<\/strong> reported that <strong>Annexe<\/strong>, subterranean lounge and cocktail bar, would close at the end of the week after a 6-year run. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Food Trucks<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The final <strong>Durham Central Park Food Truck Rodeo<\/strong> will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on <strong>September 27<\/strong>. You&#8217;ll find food and drink at over 30 food trucks as well as inflatables and family fun for all ages. It will be hosted at <strong>Durham Central Park<\/strong> (500 Foster Street, Durham).
