First up, Raleigh\u2019s <strong>Q Shack<\/strong> offers up everything from <strong>whole smoked turkeys<\/strong>, to sides, to the entire turkey-day meal! We have now learned that <strong>Tom Havrish<\/strong> chef\/owner of <strong>Lugano Ristorante<\/strong> in Cary, is the new owner. We haven\u2019t received an update yet on its plans to reopen (it may already have done so). We will keep up with this. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/academystreetbistro\/\" target=\"_blank\">Here is their Facebook page<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Also in Cary, got a press release announcing that the groundbreaking ceremony for a permanent retail location of <strong>Annelore\u2019s German Bakery<\/strong>, a home-based, authentic German pastry and bread bakery, is planned for next <strong>Monday, November 14<\/strong> at 4 p.m. at 308 W. Chatham Street in downtown Cary. You can keep up with their progress <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/AnneloresGermanBakery\/\" target=\"_blank\">on their Facebook page here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Over in Raleigh a couple of quick updates. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.raleighagenda.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Raleigh Agenda<\/a><\/span><\/strong> posted an update that signage has gone up for <strong>Royale<\/strong>, an American bistro, moving into the former <strong>Batistella\u2019s<\/strong> space on Raleigh\u2019s <strong>Moore Square<\/strong>. <strong>Royale<\/strong> is from the same guys behind <strong>Stanbury<\/strong> and <strong>Cafe Lucarne<\/strong>. They are expected to open next month. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/royale_raleigh\" target=\"_blank\">Keep up with them on Twitter here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And we got a press release announcing that<strong> Ed Mitchell<\/strong> is launching a food truck, <strong>Ed\u2019s Q on Wheels<\/strong>, that can be booked for holiday parties. His brick and mortar location, <strong>Ed Mitchell\u2019s Q at The Creek<\/strong>, in<strong> Brier Creek<\/strong> has broken ground. And finally, that <strong>Ed<\/strong> is no longer considering a space inside the <strong>Morgan Street Food Hall &amp; Market<\/strong> in downtown Raleigh. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/edsqonwheels\" target=\"_blank\">Keep up with Ed on Twitter here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Durham, Orange &amp; Chatham Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>The openings in Chatham County just south of Chapel Hill, in the <strong>Veranda<\/strong> development located at the 15-501 entrance to<strong> Briar Chapel<\/strong>, continue. Just this past Monday, <strong>Town Hall Burger &amp; Beer at Briar Chapel<\/strong> swung open their doors (and rolled up their garage doors!). And this week we saw the soft-opening of <strong>Breakaway Cafe<\/strong>, combining coffee, food, beer and bicycles&#8230;<strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/breakawaync.co\/#welcome\" target=\"_blank\">Check out Breakaway here<\/a><\/span><\/strong> and <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/townhallburgerandbeer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Beer &amp; Burger here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Over in Durham, the British Indian gastropub, <strong>Viceroy<\/strong>, located in the five-points area of downtown Durham, is scheduled to open any day now. I was invited to a media event next week, so it is very, very close. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ViceroyDurham\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check them out on Facebook here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Also in Durham, I noticed a couple of weeks ago that the long-standing <strong>Spartacus<\/strong> restaurant had been completely leveled. Reader <strong>Cori Harrell Nix<\/strong> notified me that that spot is to become the next <strong>Chick-fil-A<\/strong> in the Triangle.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>In Chapel Hill, got word from reader <strong>Thomas Viemont<\/strong> that there is a \u201c<strong>Cuban Revolution<\/strong>\u201d sign on the front of the former <strong>Mina\u2019s Grill<\/strong> at 401 W. Franklin Street. Apparently there is quite a bit of renovation taking place, so it may be awhile before we see that open. The event will take place <strong>Saturday, November 12th<\/strong> from 2-6 p.m. at the Bob Barker Company, 105 N. Main Street in Fuquay-Varina. Area restaurants and caterers come together in a friendly competition. Local breweries share their current selections. Tickets are $50 per person.
