Two words: Beer. Bacon. That\u2019s right, a <strong>Beer and Bacon Festival<\/strong> is coming to Cary&#8217;s <strong>Koka Booth Amphitheater<\/strong> featuring at least 75 craft beers and 10 varieties of bacon (who knew?). The event will be held on <strong>March 29<\/strong> from noon until 6 p.m. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.beerandbacon.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Get all the details and ticket information here<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Wake County Restaurant News\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0The <strong>N&amp;O\u2019s Andrea Weigl<\/strong> reported that <strong>Vincent Barresi<\/strong> (<strong>Vincent\u2019s<\/strong> in North Raleigh and <strong>Cucina di Milano<\/strong> in Morrisville), has signed a lease for the old <strong>Bogart\u2019s<\/strong> space on Glenwood South. While the chef hasn\u2019t been announced, <strong>Barresi<\/strong> is targeting a February opening for the speakeasy-style bar and restaurant with a menu centered around steaks and seafood. We\u2019ll keep an eye on it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>I\u2019m not sure when this guy sleeps (or stops), but downtown Raleigh restaurant and bar owner <strong>Niall Hanley<\/strong> is switching from Irish to German in his latest venture in the Glenwood South district according to the <strong>Triangle Business Journal<\/strong>. <strong>Hanley<\/strong> will convert the space, which is an office building located at 614 Glenwood Avenue next to Harry\u2019s Guitar Shop, into a two-story restaurant and bar, or <strong>Bier Garten<\/strong>. We will continue to keep an eye on this one.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>While we cannot confirm this at this point, but <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/newraleigh\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">New Raleigh<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span> suggested this week that the much-anticipated <strong>Gringo A Go-Go<\/strong> may be opening this weekend. <strong>Gringo<\/strong> is the creation of <strong>Ben Shelton<\/strong>, the chef who started <strong>Lilly\u2019s Pizza<\/strong> in Raleigh. It is located in the former <strong>Ruben\u2019s Downtown Diner<\/strong> spot at 100 N. Person Street. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/gringoagogonc.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Keep up with the latest here<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Bad Daddy\u2019s Burger Bar<\/strong> has opened in Morrisivlle in the <strong>Park West Village Shopping Center<\/strong> according to their website. This marks their 7th location and the second in the Triangle (the other is in <strong>Seaboard Station<\/strong> in downtown Raleigh). <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/baddaddysburgerbar.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Check them out here<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Right after our last post just before Thanksgiving reporting that <strong>Cameron Village\u2019s Caf\u00e9 Caturra<\/strong> was closing, we were able to confirm that <strong>Tazza Kitchen<\/strong>, a wood-fired cooking concept out of Henrico, Virginia was moving in. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tazzakitchen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Check them out here<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The News &amp; Observer<\/strong> reported that <strong>Happy + Hale<\/strong>, a fresh juice and salad delivery service and cart in downtown Raleigh, is opening a quick-service restaurant in early March. It will be located at 443 Fayetteville St., in one of those free-standing \u201cpods\u201d which was the former Collectors Gallery space in front of Bank of America. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.happyandhale.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Check them out here<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Also just before the holidays we got tipped off to the fact that a place called <strong>Despina\u2019s Caf\u00e9<\/strong>, which offers homemade baked pastries, sandwiches, soups, salads, and desserts with a European influence, will open in early January at 8369 Creedmoor Road in Raleigh. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/despinascafe\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Check out their Facebook page here<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>In our last issue, we reported that <strong>City Barbeque<\/strong>, a chain based out of Ohio, has begun renovation of the former <strong>Cinelli\u2019s Ristorante<\/strong> building at 1305 Kildaire Farm Road in Cary. Turns out they completely tore down the <strong>Cinellis\u2019s<\/strong> building and are starting from scratch. Thank goodness!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The News &amp; Observer<\/strong> is reporting that another location of <strong>Denny\u2019s <\/strong>has opened in the former <strong>O\u2019Charley\u2019s<\/strong> spot at 4380 Fayetteville Road in Raleigh. Also on Fayetteville Raod (4205 Fayetteville Road), a Chinese restaurant called <strong>Hibachi Buffet<\/strong> has opened in the former <strong>Mayflower Seafood<\/strong> building.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Durham, Orange &amp; Chatham County Restaurant News\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Zinburger Wine &amp; Burger Bar<\/strong>, which took over the <strong>Rockfish Seafood Gril<\/strong>l space, is opening at <strong>The Streets at Southpoint<\/strong> on <strong>Dec. 10<\/strong>. <strong>Zinburger<\/strong> is an upscale burger restaurant that sells gourmet burgers paired with wine selections. With locations up and down the east coast, this is the first North Carolina location. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.zinburgernj.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Get a sneak peek at them here<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>We got word last week that <strong>Gregoria\u2019s Kitchen<\/strong> will be re-opening in their new location &#8211; 2701 Hillsborough Road in Durham &#8211; in early 2014. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/GregoriasKitchen\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Keep up with the latest developments here<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Things are taking shape over in Durham at <strong>Straw Valley Caf\u00e9<\/strong>. They are closed through December 9th to undergo renovations. According to their Facebook page they will be installing a new design, food, coffee and juice menu by day w\/ fresh juice cocktails and wines! <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/StrawValleyCafe\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Follow them on Twitter<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span> to get the latest updates.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Triangle Business Journal<\/strong> is reporting that the burger joint <strong>Smashburge<\/strong>r will be opening early next year across from Duke University\u2019s campus in the <strong>Pavilion East at Lakeview<\/strong> complex on Erwin Road.
