Impress your co-workers at the water cooler.<\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Featured Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Just yesterday, <strong>Sean Degnan<\/strong> and <strong>Tony Hopkins<\/strong> of <strong>bu<\/strong><strong>\u2022<\/strong><strong>ku<\/strong> in downtown Raleigh (and <strong>bu<\/strong><strong>\u2022<\/strong><strong>ku<\/strong> in Wake Forest and <strong>so<\/strong><strong>\u2022<\/strong><strong>ca<\/strong> in <strong>Cameron Village<\/strong>) announced that at the end of their lease in December, they will move <strong>bu<\/strong><strong>\u2022<\/strong><strong>ku<\/strong> into the former <strong>AN<\/strong> spot just off Cary\u2019s Harrison Avenue across from the SAS campus. They also hinted at opening a new concept in downtown Raleigh once the <strong>bu<\/strong><strong>\u2022<\/strong><strong>ku<\/strong> move is complete. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bukuraleigh.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Check out bu\u2022ku here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Wake County Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Just on the heels (pun intended) of the opening of the Triangle\u2019s first food hall over in Chapel Hill (<strong>Blue Dogwood Public Market<\/strong> &#8211; which opened this past week), the folks behind the <strong>Morgan Street Food Hall<\/strong> in downtown Raleigh announced their opening date of <strong>July 23<\/strong>. The spot will feature over 20 culinary options when the doors swing open. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.morganfoodhall.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Get familiar with them here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>NC Triangle Dining<\/strong>, <strong>ITB Insider<\/strong> and <strong>YIMBY Raleigh<\/strong> all have noted recently that Raleigh\u2019s <strong>Five Points<\/strong> will soon be home to (hope to open next month) <strong>Lola\u2019s Cantina<\/strong> serving up street tacos, elote and more. It will be located next door to <strong>Third Place<\/strong> coffee shop. We were unable to find an online presence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Also in Raleigh, got word from <strong>WRAL<\/strong> that <strong>David Harris<\/strong>, who owns <strong>Remington Grille<\/strong> and <strong>Amedeo\u2019s<\/strong>, has purchased <strong>Sammy\u2019s Tap and Grill<\/strong>. <strong>Harris<\/strong> said the menu will be getting new additions including a veggie burger, but don&#8217;t expect the popular wings and beef burgers to go away. The restaurant will be maintaining its sports bar atmosphere and getting some new decor. <a href=\"http:\/\/sammystapgrill.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Check out Sammy&#8217;s here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Saw in the <strong>ITB Insider<\/strong> that work is now underway on <strong>The Davie Street Pub<\/strong> which will go into the former <strong>Calavera Empanadas<\/strong> space at the corner of Blount and Davie on the ground floor of the <strong>Palladium Plaza<\/strong> condos. The new pub will reportedly open later this summer. We couldn\u2019t find an online presence for them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>John Huisman, aka <a href=\"https:\/\/triangleexplorer.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Triangle Explorer<\/b><\/span><\/a>, notified us that <strong>Caretta Coffee<\/strong> is opening this Saturday in North Raleigh next to <strong>The Hop Yard<\/strong> in the <strong>Falls River Town Center<\/strong> at 1141 Falls River Avenue. They will be serving up coffee, breakfast and lunch frittatas, fresh baked goods, smash toast and smoothies. Their original location is in Hilton Head. <a href=\"https:\/\/carettacoffee.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Get to know them here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Up in Wake Forest, reader<strong> Brandon Clevenger<\/strong> notified us that there is a sign up at the corner of Capital and Stadium Drive for what appears to be the first Triangle-area location of <strong>Showmars<\/strong>. With lots of locations in and around Charlotte, they are a fast, casual concept featuring a blend of Greek and Southern, serving up sandwiches and salads. No word on a timeline. <a href=\"http:\/\/showmars.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Get familiar with them here<\/b><\/span><\/a><strong>.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Over in Cary, reader <strong>Cheyenne Jones<\/strong> notified us that <strong>The Neighborhood Sports Bar &amp; Arcade<\/strong> is coming to the old <strong>TrainStation Bar &amp; Grill<\/strong> location on Harrison Avenue (301 N. Harrison Avenue). Unfortunately that is all we have at this point. We were unsuccessful at finding any sort of online presence. Stay tuned. Thanks <strong>Matt<\/strong>!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Durham, Orange &amp; Chatham Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Sean Umstead<\/strong> announced this week that he will open <strong>Kingfisherin<\/strong> in downtown Durham with his wife and business partner, <strong>Michelle Vanderwalker<\/strong>, in late 2018. <strong>Kingfisher<\/strong> &#8211; an intimate cocktail bar, located next to <strong>The Durham Hotel<\/strong> at 321 East Chapel Hill Street &#8211; will highlight fresh and skillfully preserved fruits and produce from North Carolina farms in craft cocktails and small plates. The basement space will reflect the couple\u2019s honed sensibility and Vanderwalker\u2019s artistic background. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingfisherdurham.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Keep up with their progress here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Also in Durham, <strong>Bites of Bull City\u2019s Amber Watson<\/strong> notified us that <strong>Foster Street Coffee<\/strong> is opening next week. It is owned by <strong>Tracy Cooper<\/strong> and is located on the ground level of the <strong>Liberty Warehouse<\/strong> apartments and just steps away from <strong>Durham Central Park<\/strong>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fosterstreetcoffee.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Get to know them here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And over at the <strong>Streets at Southpoint<\/strong> it appears as if the former <strong>Champps<\/strong> spot is being renovated to accommodate the next location of <strong>Uncle Julio\u2019s Mexican<\/strong> according to reader <strong>Jennifer Buchholz<\/strong> who spotted signs going up this week. <strong>Uncle Julio\u2019s<\/strong> got its start in Texas, but now has locations across the U.S. This will mark their first venture into North Carolina. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unclejulios.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Check them out here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Not sure how this happened, almost literally under my nose, but it did. <strong>The Pickle Jar Caf\u00e9<\/strong>, formerly in Siler City, relocated back in March to the former <strong>Oakleaf<\/strong> spot in Pittsboro\u2019s historic <strong>Chatham Mills<\/strong>. The family friendly festival takes place in downtown Apex, and is highlighted by all things barbecue. Today, there&#8217;s a pig pickin&#8217; with live music and a beer garden. On Saturday, music, food, beer garden and pig races will round out the event. Admission is free so make sure <a href=\"https:\/\/www.peakcitypigfest.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>to check it out<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The 2018 version of <strong>Chefs for Change<\/strong>, a fundraising dinner series that pairs the burgeoning Durham food scene with the needs of families experiencing homelessness, is well underway. The first two events (featuring <strong>Charlie Deal<\/strong> on March 12 and <strong>Scott Howell<\/strong> on May 14) <em>sold out<\/em>. And if last year is any indication, the next two dinners will sell out quickly. The <strong>July 9th<\/strong> event features <strong>Phoebe Lawless<\/strong> (<strong>The Lakewood<\/strong> and <strong>Scratch<\/strong>) and the <strong>September 10<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong> event features <strong>Gocciolina&#8217;s Aaron Benjamin<\/strong>. Each night the chef will serve three or more courses at a ticketed dinner with the proceeds benefiting <strong>Families Moving Forward<\/strong>.
