Impress your co-workers at the water cooler.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Featured Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0It was announced this week that <strong>Scott Crawford<\/strong> will open <strong>Jolie<\/strong>, a French bistro adjacent to his <strong>Crawford &amp; Son<\/strong> restaurant on Person Street in downtown Raleigh. It is named for and inspired by his daughter, and comes not long after an inspirational family trip to France. Also of note, <strong>John May<\/strong> (think <strong>Chef and the Farmer<\/strong>, <strong>The Boot<\/strong> and most recently <strong>Piedmont<\/strong> in Durham) will serve as the general manager. Look for them to open this fall. In the meantime, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JolieRestaurant\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>keep up with them on Twitter here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Wake County Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The newest location of <strong>Happy + Hale<\/strong> opened this week in the <strong>Park Central<\/strong> building in <strong>North Hills<\/strong> serving up salads, juices and smoothies. The new location will offer a larger indoor seating area, outdoor patio seating, and brunch on the weekends. They\u2019ve also partnered with <strong>Counter Culture Coffee<\/strong> and <strong>Brewery Bhavana<\/strong> to offer coffee and beer. Congrats to <strong>Tyler Helikson<\/strong> and <strong>Matt Whitley<\/strong> on their continued success. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.happyandhale.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Check them out here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Don\u2019t forget a couple of openings headed our way in downtown Raleigh. This is their third Triangle location with a fourth (also in Cary) on the way. <a href=\"https:\/\/modpizza.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Check them out here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Also in Cary, reader <strong>Wesley Mays<\/strong> noted that the newest location of <strong>Clean Eatz<\/strong>, both a cafe\/restaurant and a business that offers pre-prepared meals and meal plans, is coming to <strong>Stone Creek Village<\/strong> in the former <strong>Five Guys<\/strong> space (corner of High House and Davis). The new owner is <strong>Jamal Young<\/strong> who purchased the <strong>Planet Smoothies<\/strong> in Cary (<strong>Stone Creek<\/strong>), <strong>Mission Valley<\/strong>, and <strong>Sutton Square<\/strong> (Falls of Neuse Rd.) a few months ago and has been working to renovate and update all the stores. The taproom will be located at 800 Taylor Street at the <strong>Golden Belt<\/strong> campus. The location will have a large interior space, as well as an outdoor covered patio and beer garden. We also told you he would host some pop-ups. Well, the first one is scheduled for <strong>Saturday, July 14<\/strong> from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. <strong>Diggs<\/strong> will collaborate with <strong>Deric McGuffey<\/strong>, former pastry chef of <strong>Il Palio<\/strong> and current partner in\u00a0<strong>Botanist and Barrel<\/strong>. It will be at <strong>Botanist and Barrel&#8217;s<\/strong> farm at\u00a0105 Persimmon Hill Lane in Cedar Grove. Expect innovative Roman\u00a0pizzas along with blueberry tarts. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/CoronatoPizza\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Keep up with them and other pop-ups on Facebook here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>In Chapel Hill the lovely and talented <strong>Lori Bowers-Lennard<\/strong> gave us an update on the <strong>Quickly Boba Caf\u00e9<\/strong> coming to <strong>Meadowmont<\/strong> in the former <strong>Market Street Coffee<\/strong> location. They will serve hot and cold drinks made with premium quality flower and tea leaves as well as unique Asian street food. <strong>Quickly<\/strong>, is one of the largest tapioca milk tea franchises in the world, with over 2,000 locations in Africa, Asia, Europe and North America. They are hiring, but no exact date on the opening. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Quickly-Chapel-Hill-2413380902008984\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Stay tuned through their Facebook page<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Over in Hillsborough, this Sunday, <strong>July 1<sup>st<\/sup><\/strong> the <strong>Wooden Nickel Public House<\/strong> will serve its last customer at this location which it has been at for the past 14 1\/2 years &#8211; 105 North Churton Street. They <strong>will be moving<\/strong> just 4 doors down from their current location (113 N. Churton Street). They have been working on the new space for a while, so the transition should happen fairly quickly. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/WoodenNickelPub\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Keep up with them on their Facebook page here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Closings<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0We learned from <strong>WRAL<\/strong> this week that sushi and modern Japanese restaurant <strong>Basan<\/strong> (part of the <strong>Eschelon Experiences<\/strong> restaurant group) will close its doors on June 30.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Got word that the <strong>O\u2019Charley\u2019s<\/strong> location in Raleigh\u2019s <strong>Brier Creek<\/strong> has closed. They still have a location on Ashville Avenue in Cary.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Speaking of Cary, Yelp is reporting that the <strong>Smok\u2019t BBQ &amp; Tap<\/strong> in <strong>Cornerstone Village<\/strong> at the intersection of High House and Davis is closed. However, reader <strong>Cheyenne Jones<\/strong> says that a sign on the door says they are looking for a new location. However, it is closed for now. But stay tuned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Also in Cary, reader <strong>Wesley Mays<\/strong> (and confirmed by Yelp) notified us that <strong>West Park Tavern<\/strong> has closed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Food Trucks<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Tom Meyer<\/strong>, the maestro behind <strong>Southern Harvest Catering Company<\/strong>, <strong>Sprout Caf\u00e9<\/strong> and <strong>Elements Coffee Bar<\/strong> (both at the <strong>Museum of Life and Science<\/strong>) and <strong>The Q Shack at North Hills<\/strong>, shared that his <strong>Southern Harvest Mobile Kitchen<\/strong> will \u201cofficially\u201d join the local food truck scene this Sunday and will feature \u201cSouthern\u201d favorites like a Tri Tip Sandwich and Sliced Applewood Smoked Pork loin as well as grilled watermelon salad on arugula, tater tots with red or green chimichurri and kohlrabi slaw &#8211; to name a few. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.southernharvesthg.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Keep up with the latest here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>he <strong>Knightdale Food Truck Thursdays<\/strong> went back into full swing this month. The first two events (featuring <strong>Charlie Deal<\/strong> on March 12 and <strong>Scott Howell<\/strong> on May 14) <em>sold out<\/em>. And if last year is any indication, the next two dinners will sell out quickly. The <strong>July 9th<\/strong> event features <strong>Phoebe Lawless<\/strong> (<strong>The Lakewood<\/strong> and <strong>Scratch<\/strong>) and the <strong>September 10<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong> event features <strong>Gocciolina&#8217;s Aaron Benjamin<\/strong>.
