Impress your co-workers at the water cooler.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Featured Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The highly anticipated <strong>Morgan Street Food Hall<\/strong> will open in Raleigh\u2019s Warehouse District on <strong>July 23<\/strong> &#8211; that is just one week from this coming Monday. So far, nineteen unique and diverse establishments are gearing up for the opening (more to follow) in this very cool downtown space that is very large, warm and inviting. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.morganfoodhall.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Get a list of the restaurants and all the details here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Wake County Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>I attended a media preview event at <strong>Morgan Street Food Hall<\/strong> (ya\u2019ll gonna love it!), and learned from a Facebook live post on <strong>WTVD\u2019s<\/strong> site that <strong>Oak City Fish &amp; Chips<\/strong> (which has a spot at the <strong>Food Hall<\/strong>) will open a second brick and mortar location 30 days after this opening in southeast Raleigh off Rock Quarry Road at 2822 New Birch Drive in <strong>Farmington Square<\/strong>. The guys behind <strong>Oak City<\/strong> (originally from Raleigh) also have three food trucks serving the Triangle. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oakcityfishandchips.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Learn all about them here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Over in <strong>Seaboard Station<\/strong>, <strong>John Huisman<\/strong>, aka <a href=\"https:\/\/triangleexplorer.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Triangle Explorer<\/b><\/span><\/a>, posted on Instagram that a spot called <strong>Papa Shogun<\/strong>, an Italian and Japanese establishment, is coming to the former <strong>Kimbap<\/strong> spot. I can\u2019t decide if that is an interesting combination or something perfect for those that just can\u2019t decide. Stay tuned and we will update as we learn more.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Just outside of downtown on Western Blvd., the <strong>ITB Insider<\/strong> noted this week that in the former <strong>Gourmet Factory<\/strong> spot at 3933 Western Blvd., a permit was issued for <strong>Sultan Kebab<\/strong>. We couldn\u2019t find a local Internet presence for them, so we will have to keep an eye on it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>ITB Insider<\/strong> also reported this week that <strong>Rockin\u2019 Rolls Sushi<\/strong>, Durham\u2019s popular Japanese restaurant, will soon open a brand-new Raleigh location at <strong>Harvest Plaza<\/strong> on Strickland Road. An opening date has not yet been announced. This will be their second location. <a href=\"http:\/\/rockrollusa.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Get familiar with them here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Over in Cary, learned from <strong>Michael DePersia<\/strong> at <strong>National Restaurant Properties<\/strong> that the <strong>Brixx<\/strong> in Cary at the corner of High House and Davis (<strong>Bradford Center<\/strong>) has been purchased by a retired New Jersey firefighter who just moved here, <strong>Tim Morley<\/strong>. Some minor upgrades are planned, but for the most part plan on continuing the business as is. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Check them out here<\/b><\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Also in Cary, learned this week that <strong>Anna Ko<\/strong> will open <strong>Terra Bonum Salad Cafe<\/strong> next <strong>Monday, July 16<\/strong> in the spot formerly occupied by <strong>Giardino Gourmet Salads<\/strong> on Harrison Avenue in the <strong>Bass Pro Shop shopping center<\/strong>. Look for them to offer up fresh salads, wraps and grain bowls. <strong>Robbie Casey<\/strong> (from <strong>Giardino<\/strong>) will continue their catering efforts. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/TERRA-BONUM-Salad-Cafe-183639609008767\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Get to know them on Facebook here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Down in Fuquay Varina, <strong>David McCreary<\/strong> reported that <strong>Daddy D&#8217;s BBQ<\/strong> is now open. It is located at 1526 Broad Street. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/DaddyDsBBQNC\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>You can visit their Facebook page here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Durham, Orange &amp; Chatham Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Learned from <strong>Melissa Shahady<\/strong> that <strong>Hutchins Garage<\/strong> has opened in the <strong>Central Park District<\/strong> at 402 W. Geer Street in Durham. Looks like pizza and beer top the list of great options there as well as a very cool atmosphere. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Hutchins-Garage-1791896040902139\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Check them out on Facebook here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Also in Durham, saw a Grand Opening sign for <strong>Los Cabos Bar &amp; Grill Mexican Restaurant<\/strong> at 4020 Durham-Chapel Hill Blvd. in the spot that was most recently the <strong>Saucy Crab<\/strong>. Looks like they have a lot of yummy seafood options! <a href=\"https:\/\/los-cabos-bar-and-grill-mexican-restaurant.business.site\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Check them out here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Over in Chapel Hill, the <strong>Lennard<\/strong> family dined at <strong>Monterrey Mexican<\/strong> restaurant earlier this week just prior to their move over to <strong>Ram\u2019s Plaza<\/strong> this past Tuesday. They have successfully transitioned into the former<strong> Bailey\u2019s<\/strong> spot. The former spot on Elliott Road will become a new concept (same owners), but work on that hasn\u2019t begun yet. <a href=\"http:\/\/monterreychapelhill.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Check out Monterrey&#8217;s new location here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Also in Chapel Hill, the newest pizza joint on Franklin Street will open this weekend. <strong>MidiCi<\/strong> will begin offering its Neapolitan pizzas, pasta, gelato and other culinary delights with a Buy-One-Pizza-Get-One-Free promotion July 14 and 15, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. it is located at 100 E. Franklin Street at the corner of Franklin and Columbia streets. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mymidici.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Check them out here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And speaking of Franklin Street saw on the local Facebook page for <strong>B.Good<\/strong> that they are looking at an early August (possibly <strong>August 2<\/strong>) opening date for their newest location at <strong>Carolina Square<\/strong> (near the new Target). <strong>B. Good<\/strong> has two locations in Raleigh (downtown and North Hills), and one in Morrisville. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bgood.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Get familiar with them here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And a quick shout out to <strong>Al Bowers<\/strong> and his team over at <strong>Al\u2019s Burger Shack<\/strong> for finishing #1 on TripAdvisor\u2019s list of top\u00a0burgers in the entire United States. The original location of <strong>Al\u2019s Burger Shack<\/strong> is on W. Franklin Street. He recently opened a second location in Chapel Hill\u2019s <strong>Southern Village<\/strong> and has plans to open a slight variation on this when he opens <strong>Al\u2019s Pub Shack<\/strong> in Chatham county soon. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alsburgershack.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Get familiar with Al&#8217;s here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Closings<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0<strong>Michael DePersia<\/strong> of <strong>National Restaurant Properties<\/strong> notified us that <strong>Smoothie King<\/strong> on Chapel Hill\u2019s Franklin Street has closed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Also on Franklin Street, the <strong>Triangle Business Journal<\/strong> reported that <strong>Toppers Pizza<\/strong> is set to close at the beginning of August.<strong> T<\/strong><strong>oppers<\/strong> still has two\u00a0franchise\u00a0locations in north Raleigh, off Creedmoor Road and Ronald Drive.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Over in downtown Durham, <strong>The Cupcake Bar<\/strong> announced on their Facebook page that after 10 years, they will be serving their last cupcakes on <strong>August 4th<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Down in Fuquay-Varina, <strong>David McCreary<\/strong> reported that <strong>Rock Harbor Grill<\/strong> at 132 S\u00a0 Fuquay Avenue has closed its doors for good.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Food Trucks<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The dates have been set for the <strong>Durham Central Park Food Truck Rodeo<\/strong> and <strong>Downtown Raleigh Food Truck Rodeos<\/strong>.
