Of course Chapel Hill\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bluedogwood.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Blue Dogwood<\/b><\/span><\/a> is already open. We\u2019ve heard from several sources that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.morganfoodhall.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Morgan Street Food Hall<\/b><\/span><\/a> (which has had a few delays) will begin a soft-opening next Monday (but, please, please confirm with your social media before heading out). <a href=\"https:\/\/www.transfercofoodhall.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Transfer Company Food Hall<\/b><\/span><\/a> (other side of downtown Raleigh) continues to make new announcements (latest being a new fire wood bagel shop from <strong>Bolted Bread<\/strong> and <strong>Jubala Coffee<\/strong> named <strong>Benchwarmers<\/strong>). And downtown Durham is inching closer with their <a href=\"http:\/\/durhamfoodhall.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Durham Food Hall at Liberty Warehouse<\/b><\/span><\/a>. Keep up with them all and get ready to enjoy the craze that is sweeping every corner of the Triangle!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Wake County Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>We told you about this back in January, but the folks over at <strong>ITB Insider<\/strong> updated us that the <strong>Taco Bell Cantina<\/strong> opened this week on Hillsborough Street on the ground floor of the 2304 Hillsborough Apartments. What makes it a cantina? 6 beers on tap, wine, Sangria and liquor slushies. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.livingmas.com\/cantina\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Check it out here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Got additional information on <strong>Dix Caf\u00e9<\/strong> that recently opened on the <strong>Dorothea Dix campus<\/strong>. The NC Department of Health and Human Services did a newsletter article on the caf\u00e9, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncdhhs.gov\/blog\/2018-08-10\/dix-caf%C3%A9-opens\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>you can find here<\/b><\/span><\/a>. Get by and enjoy!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>In Cary, reader <strong>Wesley Mays<\/strong> provided us with an update that <strong>Anjappar Indian Restaurant<\/strong> has opened in the <strong>Stone Creek Village shopping center<\/strong> in the former <strong>Chubby\u2019s Tacos \/ Guacamaya<\/strong> spot. They also have locations in New York and New Jersey. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.anjapparusa.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Get familiar with them here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Also in <strong>Stone Creek Village<\/strong>, the <strong>Triangle Business Journal<\/strong> reported this week that a new restaurant called <strong>LemonShark Poke<\/strong> will soon be serving up the Hawaiian-inspired bowls of rice and fresh fish in the former <strong>It\u2019s A Grind Coffee House<\/strong> location. <strong>John Dingman<\/strong> has plans to open a total of four locations in Triangle of the California-based restaurant franchise. <a href=\"https:\/\/lemonsharkpoke.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Get familiar with them here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Also in Cary, reader <strong>Gary Miller<\/strong> notified us that <strong>Piasans Italian Restaurant<\/strong> has closed and <strong>Kathmandu Kitchen<\/strong> has opened in 1275 Northwest Maynard Road in the <strong>Maynard Crossing Shopping Center.<\/strong> They are in the middle of their soft opening, with a grand opening planned for <strong>August 25<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong>. It is an authentic Himalayan restaurant featuring Indian, Nepali and Tibetian dishes. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kathmandukitchencary.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Get familiar with them here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Over in Fuquay Varina, the keen eyes of <strong>Hugh Autry<\/strong> noticed a new sign up for <strong>Icey Poke<\/strong> in the <strong>Kings Grant<\/strong> shopping center (Harris Teeter) at 8101 Fayetteville Road. It is located in the <strong>Whalen gas station<\/strong>. The <strong>Whalen Corporation<\/strong> is a family- owned and operated business that has been in the community\u00a0since 1984. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whichwich.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Check them out here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And Rolesville seems to be the hot-spot in the Triangle for homegrown concepts, the latest being <strong>The Cobalt Caf\u00e9<\/strong> at 6150 Rogers Road. It is a coffee shop serving up breakfast and lunch with everything made in house. Miami Blvd. at <strong>Churchill Commons<\/strong> development in Durham a <strong>Panera<\/strong>, <strong>Firehouse Subs<\/strong>, <strong>Chipotle<\/strong> and <strong>Gusto Farm to Street<\/strong> are on the way &#8211; and apparently pretty close to opening according to reader <strong>Jeff Gimondo<\/strong>. <strong>Jeff<\/strong> was also able to find <a href=\"http:\/\/www.providencegroup.com\/property-listings\/churchill-commons-durham-nc\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>this link to the development<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Closings<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>None to report! My daughter and I will be judges again this year! <a href=\"https:\/\/www.relishraleigh.com\/throwdown-for-hope\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Check it out<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Root Cellar Cafe &amp; Catering<\/strong> announced that they will host their annual <strong>Porkapalooza Festival<\/strong> at their new Pittsboro restaurant on <strong>Saturday, Oct. 6<\/strong> at 5 p.m. To celebrate their seventh year, the celebration will offer small plate creations, featuring locally raised pork from Hickory Nut Gap and Sharp Family Farms, served casually indoors and outdoors, rather than a traditional seated dinner. Their Pittsboro location is at 35 Suttles Road in <strong>Penguin Place<\/strong> in Pittsboro.
