Impress your co-workers at the water cooler.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Featured Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0This season, the <strong>Hurricanes<\/strong> will host an <strong>All Star Chef Series<\/strong> during six home games, pairing a four-course meal tasting from a curated collection of North Carolina&#8217;s premier chefs with tickets to a Carolina Hurricanes home game at <strong>PNC Arena<\/strong>. The first dinner kicks off <strong>Nov. 10<\/strong>. The dinners will be held in the <strong>Arena Club restaurant<\/strong> two hours before the game. Tickets to the dinner and hockey game are $135, with seats in the lower level of PNC arena. Hurricanes season ticket holders can get dinner tickets for $75. To get tickets and to see the schedule of chefs, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhl.com\/hurricanes\/tickets\/all-star-chef-series\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>go here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Wake County Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>For those heading to a football game at <strong>Carter Finley Stadium<\/strong> or a hockey game at <strong>PNC Arena<\/strong>, you will be happy to learn that <strong>Bojangles&#8217; Famous Chicken &#8216;n Biscuits<\/strong> is planning a location within walking distance. According to the <strong>ITB Insider<\/strong> it looks like their location will be on the other side of Edwards Mills Road at the intersection of Trinity Road and Sunday Drive. No word yet on a timeline. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bojangles.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Visit them here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Over in downtown Raleigh the <strong>ITB Insider<\/strong> is reporting that <strong>Calavera<\/strong> has begun work on their new location in the former home of <strong>Tasty 8&#8217;s<\/strong> at 121 Fayetteville Street. <strong>Calavera<\/strong>, owned by Raleigh restaurateur <strong>Ken Yowell<\/strong> (<strong>Oak City Meatball, Kaiju<\/strong>), closed its South Blount Street location in February. No word yet on a timeline. Perhaps the best place to keep up with their progress is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/calavelaraleigh\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>on their Facebook page here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Up in Wake Forest a little bird told me that <strong>Driftwood Southern Kitchen<\/strong> in <strong>Lafayette Village<\/strong> is opening a new restaurant in Wake Forest. Chef\/owner <strong>Nunzio Scordo<\/strong> will be opening <strong>Bodega<\/strong> in mid-November with Tapas style food service. Until we know more, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.driftwoodraleigh.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>check him out at Driftwood here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>In south Raleigh near Garner, reader<strong> Hugh Autry<\/strong> brought it to our attention that <strong>Fred Chason&#8217;s Grandsons Buffet<\/strong>, with locations in Hope Mills, Smithfield, Fayetteville and Dunn, is moving into the former <strong>Larry&#8217;s Southern Kitchen<\/strong> spot at 4205 Fayetteville Road. <a href=\"http:\/\/grandsonsbuffet.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Get familiar with them here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Durham, Orange &amp; Chatham Restaurant News<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Downtown Durham is looking up. Literally. <strong>One City Center<\/strong>, the tallest building in downtown Durham, is now open. The food\/beverage side of the concept includes Raleigh-based juicer <strong>Juicekeys<\/strong>, with two locations in Raleigh; <strong>Oak House Durham<\/strong>, a craft coffee shop and wine bar that originated in Elon; \u00a0restaurant <strong>b.good<\/strong>, with two locations in Raleigh as well as a location in Morrisville and Chapel HIll; and the first North Carolina location of <strong>Pokeworks<\/strong>, which is now open and celebrates its grand opening on <strong>November 10th<\/strong> from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m with a special &#8220;buy-one-get-one-free offer that day. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pokeworks.com\/durham-1\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Check out Pokeworks here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Also in Durham, a quick update from <strong>Jennifer Buchholz<\/strong> on the <strong>Uncle Julio&#8217;s Mexican<\/strong> restaurant that is moving into the former <strong>Champps<\/strong> location at the <strong>Streets at Southpoint<\/strong>. Jennifer is telling me that they will have their grand opening on <strong>November 13th<\/strong>. She says it looks great and you won&#8217;t recognize the inside &#8211; a complete remodel. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unclejulios.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Check them out here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Also at the <strong>Streets at Southpoint<\/strong>, my wife and daughter brought it to my attention that there is a edible cookie dough establishment in the former <strong>Teavana<\/strong> location. Simply called <strong>Dough Life<\/strong>. And I love their tag line, &#8220;Go ahead: lick the spoon.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edibledoughlife.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Check them out here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And near Duke&#8217;s campus, <strong>JB Duke Hotel r<\/strong>ecently appointed a new executive chef, <strong>Troy Stauffer<\/strong>. He is already having an impact having launched a completely separate, original menu and cantina experience in the hotel&#8217;s fashionable <strong>Lobby Lounge<\/strong>. The menu features everything from the Hot Chicken and Belgian Waffle sandwich to Crispy Duck Confit and specializes in handcrafted cocktails. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jbdukehotel.com\/dine\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Check out the dining at JB Duke here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Over in Chapel Hill, <strong>WRAL<\/strong> shared that <strong>CAVA<\/strong>, which will be in the <strong>Village Plaza<\/strong> shopping center on Elliott Road just down from Whole Foods, will swing open their doors on Friday, <strong>November 9th<\/strong>. \u00a0<strong>CAVA<\/strong>, a Greek\/Mediterranean concept, allows you to customize your ideal grain bowl, salad, or pita. <a href=\"https:\/\/cava.com\/locations\/filter\/tag\/nc\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Start getting familiar with them here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Down in Chatham County, fellow Chathamite <strong>Shelley Colbert<\/strong> shared the news that <strong>Alberello<\/strong> has closed (closed on Oct. 25) and will reopen later this month as new restaurant, <strong>Sadie&#8217;s Southern<\/strong>. <strong>Leslie <\/strong>and<strong> Brendan Cox<\/strong> are also the owners of <strong>Oakleaf<\/strong>, formerly of Pittsboro, but now residing in downtown Carrboro.
