Impress your co-workers at the water cooler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-vivid-red-color\"><strong>Featured Restaurant News<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The <strong>News &amp; Observer<\/strong> broke the news yesterday that a \u201cfreaking fired up\u201d <strong>Scott Howell<\/strong> has made the fantastic decision to reopen his legendary <strong>Nana\u2019s<\/strong> restaurant in Durham on University Drive, which he had closed last summer after a 26-year run. The reopened <strong>Nana\u2019s<\/strong> will have a slightly pared down dining room, around 60 seats, and a smaller, more seasonally focused menu based on what happens to be available. In addition to <strong>Nana\u2019s<\/strong>, <strong>Howell\u2019s<\/strong> other projects include the popular fast casual <strong>Nanataco<\/strong>, <strong>Bar Virgile<\/strong> and DPAC-adjacent <strong>Nana Steak<\/strong>. No word on an exact reopening date, so stay tuned. <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nanasdurham.com\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Visit Nana&#8217;s here<\/a>. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-vivid-red-color\"><strong>Wake County Restaurant News<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Got word that that <strong>Budacai Boba Bar<\/strong>, in the former<strong> Provenance<\/strong> space at 120 E. Martin Street, is now in their soft opening mode. The sign in the window indicates that this is North Carolina\u2019s first Boba Bar. Get to know them through <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/budacairaleighnc\/\">their Facebook page here<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Over in the <strong>Brier Creek<\/strong> area, got word from from reader <strong>Jennifer Buchholz<\/strong> that the <strong>Mellow Mushroom<\/strong> is targeting <strong>March 25<\/strong> for their opening. It is located at 9600 Brier Creek Parkway. Follow their social media to confirm their opening. Visit them on <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/mellowmushroom.com\/location\/nc-raleigh-9600-brier-creek-parkway-27617\/\">their website here<\/a> and on <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/MellowMushroomBrierCreek\/\">Facebook here<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Also on <strong>March 25th<\/strong>, we got word from their Twitter feed, that the <strong>Cameron Village<\/strong> location of <strong>CAVA<\/strong> will have a \u201cCommunity Day\u201d in their newest location at 403 Daniels Street. They will be open from 10:45 a.m. until 1 p.m. and again from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday with complimentary meals and all donations going to <strong>Sow Much Good<\/strong>. Their official first day will follow on Tuesday, March 26th. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cava.com\/\">Check them out here<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Rebecca Calhoun<\/strong> shared the news that <strong>Firenza Pizza<\/strong> In in the <strong>McNeill Point<\/strong> development at the corner of McNeill Street and Wake Forest Road (next to <strong>Mami Nora\u2019s<\/strong>) is now open. This is the second location in the state (Charlotte has one) and the first in the Triangle. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.firenzapizza.com\/location\/raleigh-firenza\/\">Get to know them here<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Also in Raleigh, reader <strong>Dane Christensen<\/strong> noted that the <strong>Brennan Station<\/strong> location (8107 Creedmoor Road) of <strong>Five Guys<\/strong> is currently closed for renovation. No word on the timeline of completion. In the meantime, visit the other 7 Triangle area locations. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.fiveguys.com\/\">Visit Five Guys here<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>And we got word this week that <strong>Showmars<\/strong>, a \u201cpart Greek, part Southern, all Carolina\u201d, fast-casual concept will open a second Triangle-area location this summer in Raleigh\u2019s <strong>Brier Creek<\/strong> at 4203 Corners Parkway. The original Triangle location is in Wake Forest. Look for them to break ground at the end of this month, with a summer target open date. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/showmars.com\/\">Visit Showmars here<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Down in the \u201cQuay\u201d <strong>David McCreary<\/strong> gave me a quick update that the <strong>Pizza Hut<\/strong> at 1301 N. Main St. in Fuquay-Varina has closed its doors, and a <strong>Pizza Hut Express<\/strong> has opened at 1009 E. Broad St. Unit E01B in the Walmart Shopping Center. <strong>Pizza Hut Express<\/strong> offers carryout and delivery but not dine-in.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>And over in Clayton, reader <strong>John Tipton<\/strong> noticed the construction of a <strong>Culver\u2019s<\/strong> at 11959 US Hwy. 70 Business. No word on a timeline, but will be the 4th North Carolina location, and the second in the Triangle (one in Wake Forest). <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.culvers.com\/\">Get familiar with Culver&#8217;s here<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-vivid-red-color\"><strong>Durham, Orange &amp; Chatham Restaurant News<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Saw a tweet from <strong>Miss Penny Loafer<\/strong> that There\u2019s a \u201cComing Soon\u201d sign for <strong>GG Taste of Chicago Fish &amp; Chicken<\/strong> at the <strong>Woodcroft Shopping Center<\/strong> in the old <strong>Chubby\u2019s Tacos<\/strong> location (<strong>Chubby\u2019s<\/strong> moved to a larger space in the same shopping center). There is currently a <strong>GG<\/strong> location at on Fayetteville Street, so not sure yet if this will be a second location, or a move. The Old Five Points (Mangum St) location hours are now 11am to 6pm Tuesday &#8211; Saturday; and the Rockwood (Durham Chapel Hill Blvd) location hours are now 11am to 8pm Tuesday &#8211; Saturday. They will have a closing sale this Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>And in Chapel Hill, got word from reader <strong>Katherine Hasard Vinson<\/strong> that the <strong>Cuban Revolution Express<\/strong> location on Franklin Street has closed.
