It will be held on <strong>Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.<\/strong> The Brooklyn-based 10-piece band PitchBlak Brass Band is playing at the rodeo, and Kidznotes is slated to present a musical showcase and instrument zoo. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/durhamcentralpark.org\/event\/food-truck-rodeo-4\/\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Get all the details here<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Wake County Restaurant News\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>So it is official now. <strong>Driftwood Southern Kitchen<\/strong> in <strong>Lafayette Village<\/strong> officially opened to the public this past Wednesday. Billed as a farm to table restaurant inspired by Southern ingredients, <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.driftwoodraleigh.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">you can visit them here<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>For over 10 years \u00a0<strong>Mike Choa Hui Chen <\/strong>and<strong> Bobo Liew<\/strong> ran <strong>Fortune Palace<\/strong> in Raleigh before closing it in 2012. Now, two years later, they have re-opened as <strong>Red Pepper Asian Restaurant<\/strong> offering dishes from Chinese, Thai and Malaysian cuisines (along with some <strong>Fortune Palace<\/strong> favorites). Visit them at 4121-109 New Bern Avenue (<strong>Wilders Grove Shopping Center<\/strong>) in Raleigh or <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.redpepper-nc.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">online here<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NewRaleigh\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">New Raleigh<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span> reported this week that downtown Raleigh&#8217;s South Street will soon be getting a new bakery called <strong>Boulted Bread<\/strong>. <strong>NR<\/strong> suggested that it will be in the next few weeks, but we&#8217;ll keep our eye on it. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/boultedbread.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Get more details here<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And speaking of bakeries, the <strong>News &amp; Observer<\/strong> reported this week that, pending inspections, we will get North Carolina&#8217;s first Iraqi bakery next week when <strong>Sue Al-Atar<\/strong> opens <strong>Baghdad Bakery<\/strong> at 744 Chatham Street in Cary. The bakery will specialize in samoon, a diamond-shape loaf baked in a stone oven. The oven will also turn out a flatbread similar to Indian naan, as well as a variety of specialty foods with a focus on Iraqi provenance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>News &amp; Observer&#8217;s Greg Cox<\/strong> reported this week that <strong>Posta Tuscan Grille<\/strong>, the Italian restaurant in the <strong>Raleigh Marriott City Center<\/strong>, is slated for a makeover. The new concept will feature Low Country cuisine and they will unveil the new concept in September. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/postatuscangrille.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Check them out here<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Thanks to reader <strong>John Lindsey<\/strong>, he noticed some activity in the former <strong>Subway<\/strong> location on Salisbury Street in downtown Raleigh. The new spot&#8217;s windows are covered in brown paper, but John noticed <strong>&#8220;London Burger&#8221;<\/strong> written on one of the windows. Remains a bit of a mystery at this point, but we&#8217;ll keep an eye on it. Thanks <strong>John<\/strong>!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Durham, Orange &amp; Chatham County Restaurant News\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>We got word this week that <strong>Smashburger<\/strong> is opening <strong>March 12<\/strong> in Durham at the <strong>Pavilion East<\/strong> development (think <strong>TGIF Friday, Chipotle <\/strong>and<strong> Hungry Leaf<\/strong>) near Duke University Hospital. This will be the chain&#8217;s first Triangle area location. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/smashburger.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Check them out here<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Thanks to the <strong>Triangle Business Journal<\/strong>, we know that the first location in the area for <strong>Old Chicago Pizza &amp; Taproom<\/strong> will open next Monday (<strong>March 10<\/strong>) in the <strong>140 West Franklin complex<\/strong> in downtown Chapel Hill. In addition to pizza, this location will feature the restaurant&#8217;s new tavern-stye design and menu, featuring 110 different beers. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oldchicago.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Check them out here<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Herald Sun<\/strong> is reporting that the owner of the <strong>Cinco de Mayo\u00a0Mexican <\/strong>restaurants in Chapel Hill and Raleigh is planning to open a third restaurant in Durham in the former space of the <strong>El Agave Mexican Grill<\/strong> near N.C. 55&#8217;s intersection with N.C. 54. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cincodemayorestaurants.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" shape=\"rect\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Take a peek at their Raleigh and Chapel Hill locations here<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Closings\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Got the sad news this week that Chapel Hill&#8217;s <strong>Tracy&#8217;s New York Deli<\/strong> has closed. <strong>Chef Scott<\/strong> got an executive chef position that was too good to pass up and <strong>Tracy<\/strong> will return to commercial real estate. All my best to <strong>Scott<\/strong> and <strong>Tracy<\/strong>!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Also in Chapel Hill, we were able to confirm this week that <strong>Piola<\/strong> in Chapel Hill&#8217;s <strong>54 East<\/strong> has closed their doors. Two words: Beer. Bacon. That&#8217;s right, a <strong>Beer and Bacon Festival<\/strong> is coming to Cary&#8217;s <strong>Booth Amphitheater<\/strong> featuring at least 75 craft beers and 10 varieties of bacon (did you know there were 10 varieties?). The next one will be at least a month after <strong>The Lucky<\/strong>.
