The concept was inspired by his daughter, a recent trip to Paris, and nostalgia for the classic French cuisine of his early career. With the opening of <strong>Jolie<\/strong>, we see the return of Raleigh native <strong>Madison Tessener<\/strong> as chef de cuisine who has spent the past few years working in the South\u2019s most award-winning kitchens. <strong>Jolie<\/strong> is located at 620 North Person Street, next to <strong>Crawford &amp; Son<\/strong>. <strong>Jolie<\/strong> is open Tuesday through Saturday from 5 until 10pm. <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.restaurantjolie.com\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Check out their website here<\/a> or keep up <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/jolierestaurant\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">with their Instagram page<\/a>. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-vivid-red-color\"><strong>Wake County Restaurant News<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Also opening this week was <strong>Shake Shack<\/strong> in Cary\u2019s <strong>Waverly Place<\/strong> at 310 Colonades Way. <strong>Shake Shack<\/strong> is a modern day \u201croadside\u201d burger stand known for its 100% all-natural Angus beef burgers, chicken sandwiches and griddled flat-top dogs (no hormones or antibiotics &#8211; ever), fresh-made frozen custard, crispy crinkle cut fries and more. Since the original Shack opened in 2004 in NYC\u2019s Madison Square Park, the company has expanded to more than 230 locations in 26 U.S. States and the District of Columbia, including more than 70 international locations across London, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Dubai, Philippines, Singapore, Mexico, Tokyo, Moscow, Seoul and more. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.shakeshack.com\/location\/waverly-place-cary-nc\">Visit them here<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The folks over at <strong>Taste Carolina<\/strong> noticed (whilst doing one of their amazing food tours &#8211; <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tastecarolina.net\/\">sign up for one of those here<\/a>) that there are signs of new  life in the former <strong>Acorn at Oak City<\/strong>\/<strong>Kaiju<\/strong> space at 170 E. Davie Street. A huge <strong>Reuben&#8217;s NY Deli<\/strong> sign is up across the entire front of that space. No word on a timeline, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Reubens-NY-Deli-107003560661650\/\">but you can visit them on Facebook here<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A few quick updates from our friends over at <strong>Morgan Street Food Hall<\/strong>. First up, the folks at <strong>Carroll\u2019s Kitchen<\/strong> have closed up at <strong>Morgan Street<\/strong>, returning solely to their flagship location in downtown Raleigh on Martin Street. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.carrollskitchen.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Visit the wonderful people there<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>That\u2019s the \u201cbad\u201d news. Here\u2019s the great news. Several announcements were made this week regarding some news concepts coming to <strong>Morgan Street Food Hall<\/strong>. First up, <strong>Primal Cuts<\/strong> will bring the meats with their newest sandwich concept featuring a prime rib sandwich. Diners can also build their own sandwich from a menu of meat and cheese options, all paired with house-fried chips. Next up, <strong>Pazza Pasta<\/strong>, an Italian street concept menu that will include fresh pastas, Italian meat and cheese plates and salads. And finally, and <strong>Raleigh Mini Donut\u2019s<\/strong> &#8211; minis topped with a variety of sweet flavors. Look for all of these to open next month. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.morganfoodhall.com\/\">Keep up with it all at their website here<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Looks like <strong>September 4th<\/strong> is the date for the opening of the downtown Raleigh location of <strong>Weaver Street Market<\/strong> at 404 W. Hargett Street. Lots of good, locally sourced foods both to enjoy there and take home. Keep up with various events surrounding their opening <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Weaver-Street-Market-650042732073140\/\">on their Facebook page<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Friend <strong>Hugh Autry<\/strong> tipped me off to the fact that a <strong>Tropical Smoothie Cafe<\/strong> is coming to Garner in the Lowes Home Improvement shopping center at 1553 US-70. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/tscGarnerNC2\/\">Check them out on Facebook here<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>In Cary, reader <strong>Jenny Albert<\/strong> informed us that she saw signs for a new Indian street food place called<strong> Nukkad<\/strong> going into the former <strong>Wendy\u2019s<\/strong> building near the intersection of High House Road and Davis Drive (adjacent to the Publix). No word yet on an open date. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/NukkadIndianStreetFood\/\">Keep up with them on Facebook here<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>And in Wake Forest, the <strong>Triangle Business Journal<\/strong> reported that <strong>Chick-fil-A<\/strong> has submitted plans for a new location at 1010 Forestville Road\u00a0 in the <strong>Shoppes at Heritage Village<\/strong> by the Publix Super Market. An opening date for the restaurant is unclear. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.chick-fil-a.com\/\">Visit them here<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-vivid-red-color\"><strong>Durham, Orange &amp; Chatham Restaurant News<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>It happened! <strong>Chef Teddy Diggs\u2019 Coronato Pizza<\/strong> is now open (opened yesterday) in the <strong>South Green shopping center<\/strong> just down the hill from downtown Carrboro off S. Greensboro Street. It features the only Roman-style pizza in North Carolina; a crispy, thin, almost cracker-like crust pizza that Diggs embellishes with good quality extra virgin olive oil and a diverse range of ingredients inspired by both local farmers and Roman traditions. Pies are served with a selection of local craft beers and ciders, prosecco and spritz on tap, and noteworthy Italian wines. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.coronatopizza.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Get over to Carrboro soon and get to know them here<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Out in RTP, the <strong>Research Triangle Foundation (RTF)<\/strong> will break ground on <strong>Boxyard RTP<\/strong> next Tuesday,<strong> August 27<\/strong> at 700 Park Offices Drive, just off Hwy. 54, not far from the intersection with Davis Drive. This is a very cool concept that features a cargotecture design (think shipping containers) to showcase food, beverage and experiences. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/boxyard.rtp.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Get all the details on their website here<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>And in downtown Durham, the folks over at <strong>Best of the Bull<\/strong> alerted us to the fact that <strong>Cloche Coffee<\/strong> is now open at 721 Broad Street right by Duke\u2019s East Campus. Sorry to see them go.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-vivid-red-color\"><strong>Food Trucks&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Got word from the folks over at <strong>EatRaleigh<\/strong> that a seafood and ceviche truck from Boston is relocating to Raleigh next month. Look for <strong>Roadies Fine Seafood &amp; Ceviche<\/strong> to hit the roads around the Triangle sometime in September (their last day in Boston is 8\/24). They served the Boston area for 4 years. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/roadiestruck\" target=\"_blank\">Give them a proper Southern welcome by getting to know them here.<\/a>\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Thanks to a note from <strong>Mark Ginsberg<\/strong>, I learned that the<strong> Knightdale Food Truck Thursdays<\/strong> is back up for the season.
