Why? Simply because every child in school deserves to have a nutritious meal, and that is the goal of an initiative by the <strong>NC Partnership for Child Nutrition<\/strong>. The <strong>Support School Meals<\/strong> campaign will officially run <strong>September 1 &#8211; 30<\/strong>, enabling every child and teacher to choose to eat lunch and breakfast at school. More than 50 Wake County restaurants are participating in the <strong>Support School Meals<\/strong> campaign by offering a $5 donation opportunity throughout the month of September, with 100% of the proceeds raised going to support this goal. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncpcn.org\/aboutsupportschoolmeals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">See a complete list of restaurants and all the details here<\/a>. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-vivid-red-color\"><strong>Wake County Restaurant News<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Back in the 60\u2019s RTP took off with the landing of IBM as their \u201canchor\u201d tenant. And in 2019, RTP adds new life with the announcement this week that <strong>Fullsteam Brewery\u2019s<\/strong> second location will \u2018anchor\u2019 their <strong>Boxyard development<\/strong>, a collection of shipping containers that will create a hub of restaurants, cafes and breweries next to the Park\u2019s co-working space, the<strong> Frontier<\/strong>. Many in the area are quite familiar with <strong>Fullsteam Brewery<\/strong>, an award-winning brewery with their original location near downtown Durham on Rigsbee Avenue. According to the <strong>News &amp; Observer<\/strong>, nearly 50% of the shipping containers have been pre-leased but none of the other tenants were announced. The containers are expected to be operating by next May. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/boxyard.rtp.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Keep up with this creative corner of RTP here<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Reader <strong>Tom Hailey<\/strong> shared the news that <strong>Falafel &amp; Co.<\/strong> (formerly <strong>Brookside Market<\/strong> in Raleigh on the corner of Glasscock St and Brookside Dr) opened their restaurant yesterday, Thursday, August 29, serving up fresh Mediterranean cuisine. He noted that their Palestinian version of falafel is amazing, and they have loads of toppings for said falafel. Additionally, they do chicken and beef dishes as well as offering family dinners. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/falafelandco\/\" target=\"_blank\">Get familiar with them on Facebook here<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The folks over at the <strong>ITB Insider<\/strong> shared the news that Glenwood South\u2019s Nashville-inspired <strong>Tin Roof Restaurant and Bar<\/strong> will open in \u201cearly September.\u201d The property at 300 Glenwood Avenue was previously home to a one-story, 4,000 square-foot brick building constructed in 1940 that for years had been home to Clark Art. The <strong>Tin Roof<\/strong> in Nashville offers a lunch and dinner menu in addition to serving as a bar\/nightlife hotspot with live country music, and it sounds like the Raleigh location will be offering more of the same. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tinroofraleigh.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Get to know them here<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Looks like <strong>September 4th<\/strong> is the date for the opening of the downtown Raleigh location of <strong>Weaver Street Market<\/strong> at 404 W. Hargett Street. Lots of good, locally sourced foods both to enjoy there and take home. Keep up with various events surrounding their opening on <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Weaver-Street-Market-650042732073140\/\" target=\"_blank\">their Facebook page<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>And down in Fuquay-Varina, the <strong>Triangle Business Journal<\/strong> reported that <strong>Culver\u2019s<\/strong>, a Wisconsin-based chain serving burgers and shakes plans to add a fourth location in the Triangle at 1860 Cinema Drive off N. Main Street.
